DAY TWO OCTOBER 2011

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

DAY TWO OCTOBER 2011

Postby Nasoosie » Sun Oct 02, 2011 9:24 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I haven't seen anybody moving around up at the house yet, so I don't know if any labor is on the docket for today. It's 42 degrees out there, overcast, grey, and just downright cold feeling. My plan is to put shelac on the woodwork and door to the nursery, and take Molly for a walk if it doesn't rain. Then I will attempt to tackle my blog which I have ignored since I began it years ago now! I will start over, and see if I enjoy doing it.

If there doesn't seem to be any chance of labor beginning today, maybe I'll head home for the day and come back tonight. Or maybe not. Maybe I'll try one of the computer games Mandy found in her boxes of stuff the other day....just hand-held controls with games already programmed in them, or something. Or I could go to WalMart and poke around and grocery shop. I would love it if the sun would actually come out and warm things up!

It sounds as if the TX GTG is coming together nicely for early March. I am thinking I will never be able to afford it, but those going should have a wonderful time! The job of finding a FL campsite for those of us down there this winter has become a daunting task for me, so, if there is anyone who has any suggestions for a good site with both some hiking trails and accessible water for kayaking and canoeing, let me know. Liz suggested Wekiwa Springs last night, and I will check that out today. I am open to all help and suggestions!

Off we go to get more coffee and finish up the last of the pumpkin-spice bread. Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy travels!

Trip to San Juan Batista

Postby Anniepoo » Sun Oct 02, 2011 1:31 pm

Ended abruptly on 101 south a few miles from home.

The Firestone tire store says the tires are 30 years old. Not sure how they figured that out, supposedly only the last two digits are marked on tires before 2000. But they're obviously old. Sigh.... looksd like I'll need to borrow more of that patience back... not to mention some money.... 8cP

Tom came and fixed the flat, but put the wheel cover (it goes on with the lug nuts) on rotated so the tire stem wasn't accessible. Didn't discover this till he'd left. There was only 20 psi or so in the tire, so I nursed it to a nearby wal mart, spent the night, went to the firestone across the street this morning.
They don't even make that size tire any more.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.

Well..it's not quite morning anymore....so I'm stopping in with a can of Diet Coke. Anniepoo I'm not giving that patience back quite yet...because Ralph and Alf aren't done painting! It's getting to be the neighborhood joke. "How long did it take Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel" This is the fourth weekend my house has been in total chaos. On the upside...when I finally get to hang all my stuff back on the walls and uncover the furniture it will seem like it's all new...kinda like cleaning your closet and rediscovering clothes you forgot you had!

So Annie...what do you do when they quit making the kind of tires that you need?
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Oh, Annie, sorry for the hit in the pocket book but glad that you aren't in a ditch somewhere. Keep breathing. Hope that the tie store can come up with a set of tires that will work for the rig and don't require you leaving your arm and leg behind. :)

Edited and put in Tires for Annie.

And oh yeah, I'm in North Little Rock headed for Lake Chicot tomorrow! Nothing broke on the 175 mile trip...maybe my bad mojo is gone????

"Soos, This little guy doesn't seem too concerned about your impatience and excitement. He will be worth the wait, that's for sure" Annie, Have you been a bad girl :? you are surely paying big time. In reality we know bad things happen to good people. Next year you will tell this around the campfire..it will all be behind you then :D
If anyone reads this, I would like a phone number of one of you. I hoping to get away late morning but I could be delayed. Please don't hold up any plans for tomorrow night in the event I'm late. I will post this in gtg also.
Looking forward to this week.
