TUESDAY SHOPPING AGAIN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY SHOPPING AGAIN

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Sep 13, 2011 7:37 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Early morning thundershower has given way to partial sunny skies and warm temperatures. Mandy and I will go shopping at WalMart today for some clothes for her to take to the hospital, some black tank chemicals (porta potty black tank) for me, go to my bank so I can deposit a couple of refund checks from my old car insurance company, and whatever else we might think of. The time is getting near, and Mandy is feeling every inch of the 7 pound 8 ounce baby growing like crazy inside!

I hope all the ladies at the PA GTG have a wonderful day, and the rest of you all, too.

Coffee is hot, and I am off for the day. I will look forward to reading some lines from you all when I log on again!

Happy Tuesday!

I remember so well the birth of my first GBaby...I had to fly to CA for this, hubby wanted to rent a car and see Yosemite which we did after I held her for 10 straight days..they said she was horrible after I left, wanted to be held 24/7. I cried throughout Yosemite and the flight home. I did nothing but look at her pictures as they kept coming (didn't do the email thing then). They came home one month later or I would have been back out there.
For this reason I am really thinking the trip to Fl might be delayed or not happen. I know how you loved your winter in FL but how that sweet face will dominate each waking moment.
Sounds like you're having lots of mom/daughter time and the anticipated joy of the babies arrival foremost in your thoughts.

It is cloudy this morning with a chance of thunderstorms and heavy rains today all across SoCal. It is also very humid! Yuck!

I am having trouble getting motivated this morning to get up and head back to the old apartment and get that all cleared out and cleaned up today. But it's gotta be done. Should get moving before the rain heads in here.

I chipped a tooth (molar) the other day. It is has a large filling in it and part of the tooth on one side broke off. It doesn't hurt at all but had sharp edges, so I bought some stuff to fill it in temporarily until I get to a dentist again (someday). Seems to be working fine so far.

I bought a security motion-sensored light for outside my bedroom window. Will get that installed today sometime. Will sleep better when I have the window open now. (They did catch those two rapists the other day so that makes me feel better! Gumby is still on the loose but I don't think he would fit thru my window! ).

Been feeling kind of down in the dumps lately. Not sure why. Nothing specific. Maybe too many changes, maybe lack of money (worrying about paying bills, etc).

Hope you all stay high and dry today!

It is warm but beautiful here lakeside at Poole's Knob. Went out for a moonlit kayak ride on the cove last night during the harvest moonrise. So peaceful and quite nice. This morning I ran out early to get a much needed haircut. Then a little shopping at Kmart. Stopped by a friend's house to borrow a "turd toter". That's a new experience for me. Haven't had much time for posting or even internet but have been checking in to see how George is doing. Crossing my fingers, toes, and all else that things start going well for those 2. Thanks Vicke for keeping us up to date on the status. Today is a business day as far as getting things finished up at the house, but first I think Gus and I will go for a swim.

Still broke down

Postby Anniepoo » Tue Sep 13, 2011 1:49 pm

I'm still broken down but getting closer.
Thank goodness for having a stable place to be parked during this.

Was up early this morning and reassembled much of the remainder of my front end. Everything else is left for Thomas.

I've gotten incredibly grubby with all this. I'll be very, very thankful when it's all over.

Must be the day for hair cuts I had one this morning. I've been watching what phase the moon is in when I get it cut and I think it makes a difference. Got a good cut today with the full moon, now to see how fast it grows out. A moonlight kayak ride must have been wonderful with that full moon especially if the weather was as nice there as here. It's hot today though but supposed to cool down tomorrow and be barely into the seventies this weekend.
I just put a pot of fresh green beans with a ham hock on, will add potatoes in a few hours and make Jiffy corn bread for dinner. I know it isn't a very healthy dish but I fix it a couple of times during the summer. Used to make in in my Granny's cast iron pot but it is just too heavy, I have a smaller Le creuset one that makes them taste almost as good but I don't think you can beat the flavor you get from cooking in cast iron.
I've been thinking about how the cruise is going, it's been pretty quite maybe no connections on a ship. Also been checking in to see if any updates on George and Mitch.

Another hair cut here. I did make the appointment last week. Then I went to Sam's. Had to come home and put my meat up. It is summer here again and hot.

I love ham hocks cooked with black eyed peas in the slow cooker. I just want to eat the ham hocks. My DH thinks they are too greasy. Probably why I like them.

No hair cut here today but I did cook a pot of green beans and potatoes last night. Cooking some boneless pork chops tonight to go with the left overs which always seem to be better the next day.

OMG Vickie...a year! I'm in every 4-5 weeks. I must be a beauticians dream client! If Donna is going on vacation for a week and she knows that it's about my "time"...she calls and tells me she's going and wants to know if I want to get in before she leaves She knows me well. If it takes longer than five minutes from the shower to the time I finish blow drying it...my hair is too long! Or maybe it's because she once had to try to shape up a pretty bad self trim job!

OMG! That's 5 people out of our group of regular posters that cut their hair today!!! I remember reading (years ago) a study that said something about groups of woman that are together a lot, got their monthly cycles around the same time. All I can say is Thank God for menopause or we might not be such a happy forum! :o  :!:

Vickie - I think I beat you on time between hair cuts. Think it has been about 3 years now since my last hair cut. When it gets about 16 to 18 inches, I cut it to donate to Locks of Love. Getting close to time again but as I have aged, it seems to grow a bit slower.

I didn't get my hair cut and didn't cut anyone else's hair today either.

You gals need to get a cut at least every two months or so just to trim off the dry, split ends. Hair splits faster than it grows, so once it is split, you will end up with lots of broken hair and not much growth. Just sayin'...
