Finally Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Finally Friday

It's finally Friday and I have finally launched! Well, I'm at least camped in a campground. Site 38 Poole's Knob COE. It's fabulous. I promise to post pix tonight. I actually moved in last night but only hooked up the electric. It's the back side of a buddy site and the 36' class A in the adjoining site has his rig backed up so close to my elec/water hook up that I would have to park under his butt to be where I want to be. Good news is he is leaving today so I will wait to set up completely after he moves and I can pull up about 10 feet. House is empty except a few more things I will go over and get today. New tenant asked for a key to start painting this weekend. I'm on the road to a new life!

Congratulations! Another dream coming true!

The sun is shining on some very soggy ground where I am, but so glad to see the sunshine! There is still major flooding all around me, and roads are still closed. I hope the way out of here will clear by Sunday. Town & road are flooded on the road east of me; bridge is out west of me! The cg owners may know another way out.

The devastation is huge in towns in NE and central PA. TV has videos of whole houses floating down the Susquehanna River and crashing apart on bridges. Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from the flood zones. Emergency local coverage is all that is on the TV here....even pre-empted the President's speech.

Today I will clean my little RV and dry out damp clothes & rugs. A load of laundry to do too. Hope everyone is safe where you are and at least some of you are finding some fun today.

Good Morning all
Vickie - I'm so excited for you! What an adventure.
Liz - Hope it is drying out where you are. Have seen so of the pictures of flooding there on the news, terrible.
I will have to wait until later to catch up on posts but wanted to let you know I had a delightful visit with Nan (gentleladybear) yesterday. Will post a couple of pixs under gtg thread but took most with Nan's camera so you will have to wait until she gets her blog updated.
Wishing all a great day.

Well, I survived our huge black out yesterday! Actually, it really was no big deal to me. I was taking a nap when it happened and then spent last evening out on the patio under the almost-full moon enjoying the cooling temps (been near 100 the past few days). Lots of people out walking around. Very peaceful actually, without lights, internet or cell to distract me! Glad that it came back early this morning tho. I figured it would be days before they would get it fixed.
I have the next two days off from work so will get things organized around here and relax some more...

Hope those of you in the flooded east coast find your way to dryer places! What a terrible mess!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Oh wow, Liz. Hope the waters recede enough to let you get out soon. Those poor people.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

Beautiful day here today----bright sun and 70 degrees in the shade!

Got the trailer inspected this morning, said goodbye to Issy in case I don't catch her again on one of my trips back here, eating brunch now, and then going out to drain water from pipes and add antifreeze to traps. I hope I have the air power to blow out pipes----if not, I will get another compressor when I get to Mandy's house. Still a lot to do here before I haul out to Pierrepont tomorrow.

Carol, let me know if you find a neat place to stay for a month on the beach for next year----I feel as you do about hauling and hitching and all!

Enough lollygagging----time to finish chores for tomorrow's lift-off. I visited school yesterday and saw all my friends and kids from last year----was fun to visit, and even more fun to leave! I will get back in time to sub in the spring.

This afternoon will be a 3-D, color sonogram of my grandchild----I can't WAIT to see the pics!

PA's floods are horrible, and not expected to peak until about midnight tonight. My nephew sent me some pics of the Harrisville area. Poor Liz is sort of trapped where she is for now----sure hope roads clear so she can make Beth's GTG. Stay safe, everyone.

Happy travels!

very very late check in

Tom came by and removed the culprit transmission cooler hoses.
 The hoses weren't the right kind at all - just rubber hoses. To boot, the transmission end had a metal fitting that came from a refridgerator - it wasn't a car part at all!. And the cooler itself was loose. When he got it out, we discovered it was totally blocked.
So, he's coming back tomorrow to fix all this. Additionally, I've had an ugly belt squeal for a while, and he found the cause of that. Frozen bolt on alternator. So that's getting fixed.
