Chilly Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Sep 06, 2011 7:07 am

Morning everyone,

A little chilly out there this morning, 35 degrees. We are under a frost advisory till 8 a.m.I think i see what might be a heavy dew or light frost on my lawn. I live in a valley here and there are 4 lakes down here and it gets foggy when the weather cools off lke this. That fog is starting to settle down to the ground, so it may be dew or frost forming. Kind of early but not unusual.

I'm glad I decided not to go camping for last night. Yesterday started out cloudy, damp and chilly with a stiff wind blowing. Sun did finally pop out in the afternoon, but the wind was still cold. We are in for a georgeous week again this week with highs in the low 70's, so maybe I will go this coming Sunday for a couple of nights. Will depend on how long my friends who are stopping by on Sunday on their way home from a wedding stay. They too are going to want to hit the road home by late afternoon.

Got my applesauce made yesterday, the ground cleaned up under the apple tree (neighbor is taking the spoils to deer camp) and the house vacumed. Other than that I didn't do much of anything. Kind of tired so just puttered around. Right now I am just catching up on here and am going to have a breakfast bar, get my hair dried (just washed it) and will be hitting the road to Burt Lake State Park to visit our former lead ranger who is now the supervisor up there. that's the park I have a job offer at next summer too. So the dogs and I are going to spend a day just wandering around the park, taking a little ride up and back and enjoying the day. Need to stop at the store on the way home.

First day of school in Michigan today, so the yellow busses will be rolling. Vacation season is over and the north country is settling back down to normal routines again. There will be a few more weeks of busy, but not to the degree of summer. Till the fall colors come out it will be kind of quiet and after that it will definitely be quiet till the white stuff flies and the snowmobilers head north as well as the skiers.

So guess i had better get going here. Need to eat, get hair dried and hit the road north. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Those in the path of Lee heading up the coastline, stay dry. Those on the road, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Sun is trying and trying to come out here between rain showers, and the temperature is low enough today (55) for me to drain my swimming pool for real, I am afraid. The kids came home last night, for the last time for Mandy until after the birth of the baby, to help get last minute stuff done and the house closed up until they are able to come back. Joe has a job here, so will still stay here during the week, and head north to Mandy on the weekends. When I pull out on Saturday, I hope, I will leave the trailer up there and just come back with the truck if I need to now and then. I have to call and make sure I can get the trailer inspected when I haul out on Saturday---they were closed over this past weekend.

So off we go to paddleboat securing, canoe storing, plant divvying up and bringing in from the deck, last minute phone calls to porta potty company and house alarm company, paying bank safety deposit fees and having Mandy sign up to be able to access that, return a light I bought from Ace a couple of days ago, and whatever else we can think of.

School begins for our kids today, too----that's another call I need to make to take myself off the sub list until spring. Happy Fall to all, and may we all have a wonderful 2011 season of the colors and geese-flying.

Good morning Sue, Soos and all that follow... is cool here also it was 49° when I got up and it will heat up to the low 70s this is perfect weather for me!
I had a most busy last two days. Script I believe the increase in medication is kicking in so glad for that!! By Thursday I will be on the full increased dose. It feels good to not be in pain every day all day and all night. Enough of that.

They actually got out and walked a short distance with Shadow on Sunday (I used my cane) then I sat outside for a couple of hours my neighbor came over we chatted for another couple of hours and then we went to dinner at Denny's. When we came back she came in and I showed her the pictures from Florida she loved the wild horses! We chatted then looked at pictures until midnight! Wow I am improving.

Yesterday I went out to the house that my son in law's nephew got at a foreclosure. It was not the deal that my daughter is getting in Michigan this one was over 100 grand but it is I believe about 3 acres on a hill that goes down to a pond. The pond belongs to his neighbor but I guess he can go fishing on it and that pond leads to about four more ponds sell a small bowl would be a fun thing to have. They have cleaned off so many trees away there able to burn and they had a huge pile of burning going on down by the pond for over two weeks it has never gone out there is so much to burn. The house has to be completely gutted but they are working on it. My son-in-law John says it has a very good bones so it will be worth all this work. This house is nestled in between houses that cost over a quarter of $1 million so he should gain value, knowledge and sore muscles. Scott the young man from Taiwan was using a jackhammer to break up the concrete steps he had never done anything like this before what an experience he is having! I had lunch with them a picnic lunch sloppy Joe's salad chips all kinds of desserts and drinks! When I got there I got so many hugs and surprised looks from all the young people I felt like a queen being greeted by her subjects. They never expected I would be able to come out there.

On the way home I got gas the prices are going up again and a few groceries. Then I came home talked to my son and my daughter in Michigan had left overs from Danny's and a piece of cherry pie. I took a piece over to my neighbor to when he did not have room for dessert on Sunday!

My very expensive tooth that they put in last year fell out on Sunday. I will go get it cemented back in this afternoon. I'm sure will be quite a few dollars!

They trust you will all have a good day,
Kathleen

Good morning Soos, Sue, Kathleen & everyone!

Sue, enjoy your day at the park.

Soos, you always have such busy days, but I know you are preparing your home in NY for the winter so you can go back to FL.

Kathleen, I am so tickled you are feeling so much better. It's just a shame you had to wait so long for the new meds, but at least they're working.

It's a cool, damp morning in MD. We had an inch of rain last night with another inch expected today and more again tonight. At least it's not all coming at one time, like it did last week.

It's a short work week due to the Labor Day weekend and I'm looking forward to the GTG in PA next week.

Have a wonderful ay everyone!

Good morning all, so good to hear you are feeling better Kathleen and you have been able to be out and about! It's 59 here this morning too, wow what a drop from Saturday. I had to put a jacket on to walk the dogs. Today is my birthday so I gave myself the day off from my walk. My usual before birthday blues has lasted longer this year but the day started great with a call from my friend and her daughter in Ireland singing the birthday song.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day, those going on the cruise are probably busy getting organized. Can't wait to hear all about their trip, I think it is going to be one we need to get extra bail $$ at the ready!

Good Morning All

Had a great Labor Day weekend. A visit up north to Salem to spend the weekend with CougarFan (Laura). We had lots of leisure time, also went to the Oregon State Fair (saw Wynona Judd, she was great), ate "fair food", visited the Horse show, and had lots of laughs. Then a trip on Sunday to Spirit Mountain Casino for a delicious brunch. Invested a little for the Indians but not bad. I headed home Monday about noon and thought the traffic would be bad but dang, people were either already home or hadn't left yet as the traffic was light. School starts here today so that might have had some impact on it.

Is expected to hit 100 here today so my house is already closed up. I think my MH should be done at the repair shop today so I guess I just need to go pay the ransom and get it parked for a while. Waaayyyy too hot to clean it out. I have lots in there I have found I don't need soooo...out it comes.

I am getting 3 new batteries, an inverter installed, and the UTB braking system wasn't working and they found the plug (on the MH) corroded so were going to replace that. I also had them check my jacks as they were making a bit of noise when they were going up and down......again rust in some places. The coast is very hard on your rig for sure. Guess I will have to take my "cans and coins" to redeem so I can get it out of hock.

I will be going back to work Oct 16th so guess I better get busy, heck one month has passed already and I only have another month off before I have to head back.

Well have laundry to do as usual, and the dog is thinking she needs to go for a walk....hmmmmm So I better get busy,

Tranny morning

Postby Anniepoo » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:06 am

Well, they started on the rerebuild of the tranny today....
They're gonna leave the vehicle on the rack overnight, so I gotta find a motel 6. 8cP

I'm still bored in Dublin - stuck in a starbux and bored outta my gourd.
Be glad to be mobile again - the black water's been full for a week, and my bladder doesn't last the night any more.

GUess I better get to work.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.

Kathleen, so happy to hear you are able to get outside and out and about once again! Your expensive tooth better get glued back in with Gorilla Superglue this time around! Relief from pain is one of the most wonderful feelings a human can experience, so live it up now and get back into the appreciation of life!

Annie, glad to hear your RV is finally getting worked on! Sure hope this repair will take you far and trouble-free for a long time!

Good to hear from you, Karen, and see that you and Laura are still making the rounds and having such fun times! I hope to meet you both before too much more time passes.
