Is it too late to be making a reservation for the AR GTG? I only need a 30 elec and H20. I live in NW AR and am new to RV'ing -- it was suggested I attend and it sounds like fun. Don't know the procedure or what I need to do to attend. Do I sign up with you'all or reserve at the campground? Leaving for Wyoming/Tetons next week -- my virgin trip.

Call and make your reservations ASAP! Most of us are in F section, don't know how many spots are left there. When you get there, just look for a big party of women having fun!!! :D You'll have to come over and introduce yourself as none of us have met you yet and you haven't posted a picture, but you sure are welcome!! White elephant deal one nite, bring something that needs re-homing, doesn't have to be new or relate to rv'ing. We're having a potluck one nite, probably the same nite. Possibly a breakfast. One of our members has never had sausage gravy (horrors!!) so I'm thinking I'm going to have to make some and educate her, poor baby. Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi Sistas,
Our plans are still in jello as of right now ;) . Not sure we are gonna make it to this get together :o . While on our big trip we decided that we had no reason to stay in Baton Rouge now that our daughter has moved to Washington. So we came home, sold the house, (closing on the 26th), and are moving to the camp as our permanent address  . We have bought a beautiful doublewide to put up there and are waiting for things to get finalized down here. We have lived in this house for 36 years, and didn't know we had so much "stuff". Been emptying and packing for the last two weeks. Almost going crazy. Now having sold the camp house up at the camp, got to pack it up too so my brother can have it moved to where he wants it to be. We will move into the travel trailer until our doublewide gets moved in and finished up. One thing our 2 1/2 month trip showed us was we can live in close quarters for a while  .
We may can make it for two or three days instead of the whole week, but will have to see. Hope you all have a great GTG. Wish me luck with packing, I need it.

Sorry for the confusion. We are moving to our camp, which is two lots on beautiful Bayou Macon Cut-Off outside of Gilbert, LA in north Louisiana. We are both from north LA and have family up there. Just tired of being all by ourselves in south Louisiana. Jim has sisters, nieces, and nephews and I have aunts, uncles, cousins, step-dad, nephews, nieces, and one brother. Ought to be enough family for us. We have had the camp for 14 years and have made the drive up there (145 miles ONE way ) at least 3 to 4 times a month. Gee, look what we are gonna save in gas alone. One of the reasons to seriously make this move at this time was DH and the fact he was running himself to death, trying to keep up two places at the same time--he will be 65 his birthday and I was getting worried about the strain. His personality isn't that he would just mow, he would have to weed eat, trim trees and bushes, pull grass out of borders etc. Just too much on him.
Will post pics when everything is done.

Well, it sounds like a great plan and I'm so happy for you! I kind of figured that the next thing we heard from you was that you had bought a condo in Washington near Candi! Then I remembered her DH was in the service and would probably be moving again anyway. We'll take whatever we can get time wise if you can make it up for the GTG, but totally understand if you can't. But you may have to listen to me whine a bit about it! Don't let Jim overdo it, or you either! Your house sure sold in a hurry, that's amazing in this economy!

It seems it's the perfect move at the perfect time. Nice that you have that available and near family. Looking forward to seeing your new home :D carold

Sounds like and excellent plan that suits you two for the present. :D The idea of downsizing to save your time and energy for people and activities that are more important really makes a lot of sense to me! Enjoy the journey!

Having trouble with the shuttle bike kit and it looks like it won't be fixed in time for the trip. The rv repair place says the rv will be ready though and that's the important part. Now I just pray I can somewhat stick to my diet and exercise plan while traveling. The plan is simple.. eat little.. exercise a lot. Simple to say.. not simple to do. I have been using www.myfitnesspal.com for help. It has a facebook like interface with the most extensive food database I have ever seen. You get calorie credits for exercise, creating quite an incentive. A friend recently turned me on to this site and it has really helped.

The focus on weight is because I'm on steroids for RA and gain/lose the same 25 pounds over and over again. The extra weight creates a lot of stress on the joints and a ton of pain.

One of the things that attracted to me to this get together was its location at a state park.. ie, usually means trails and a lot of walking....and geocaching.. all fun calorie burners. Might need to put one of those don't feed the animals signs around my neck though. :)

See everyone soon! Oh.. about rig tours.. my rv will most likely get out of the shop the day before I leave.. as is... however I parked it last April... can't remember. Hard to believe its been in the shop that long. I'm using this as my excuse for its lack of domestic improvements...but its just that.. an excuse. I'm domestically challenged.

You better get me one of the Don't Feed the Animal signs too. My friend talked me into going to Weight Watcher's with her again. I went from May to October last year and lost 30 pounds. I was doing pretty good until my son moved back and I started cooking more often. And then we were having all the GTG's and eating out. It has been so hot and so many bugs that I can't get motivated to walk.

Your motorhome can't possibly look worse than mine. I have so much stuff piled on one of the beds you can't sit down. I need to unload a bunch since my sister will be with me for 3 days before the Arkansas GTG.

I'm curious about your bike rack. I have heard horror stories about the ones that attach to ladders.. but then see them all the time being used by rv'ers without problem as they travel up and down the interstates. The shuttlebike kit folks are -making- me new parts to fit my bike better but still doubtful if everything will be ready for this GTG. Shame.. was looking forward to pedaling around the lake.

I have a mobility lift on the back of my MH for a trike but most likely won't be bringing the trike. I plan on tossing my bike inside the MH. I just purchased a bicycle cart, and that should arrive tomorrow. Hope it works as planned... for those walmart runs and to haul the parts to the shuttlebike kit.

www.myfitnesspal.com works online as well with a ios and android apps. What doesn't work. is my will power at times. :)

Anyone joining myfitnesspal.com (its free) and wants to "friend" me .. just yell. Shaking pom poms burns calories so I'm always eager to cheer others on. :) :) :)

For the pot luck.. I'm thinking about bringing hot dogs. I have hot dog grills (yep..plural). Nothing else I make anyone will want to eat.
