Cool Down Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Down Sunday

Morning all,

A quck note before I start getting dressed and head off to work this morning. Typical Labor Day weekend here, cloudy, damp and getting cooler. Seems to be the case on Labor Day weekends although not every year. Was cloudy yesterday and had some heavy rain briefly for a bit in the morning. Didn't seem to bother the campers any though. They just stayed under awnings or inside and did whatever they did. After lunch they all popped out like mushrooms and were out walking, riding bikes etc. But the beach was dead as a door nail all day. And I expect it to be the same today as forecast calls for partly sunny for the morning but cloudy and showers in afternoon with highs only in the mid 60's and a brisk WNW wind at 15-25. Definitely not a beach day. And there will be some campers leaving today too as there are people who don't want to drive in tomorrow's heavy traffic heading south.

I cancelled a possible overnight camping trip I was thinking of going on tomorrow night due to weather as well. Was just going to run up the road about 40 miles to the park where our lead ranger is now supervisor and stay there and see her, spend some time at the park etc and come home. But in light of the forecast, I decided that showers and a high of 59 was not very appealing to enjoying the park etc. Plus a number of the campsites I had my eye on are still reseved for tomorrow night as well. So will take a drive up on Tuesday and just visit for awhile. Only takes a little over a half hour. Will see what next weekends weather looks like and might go on an overnight the following Monday. I have friends coming by on Sunday afternoon, so can't go on Sunday. My camping days are going down slow but sure.

Irmi, glad to hear you are heading out cmaping despite the mess you have to clean up. I don't know if I would do that cause I would want to get the darn mess cleaned up first and then be done with it. But sometimes we need to wait for professional help and have to wait, so may as well head out and enjoy life while we can.

And I'm going to head out here too. Time to get dressed, make lunch, hit the road, stop and pick up a Sunday paper and get to work. Have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday all.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Another sunny and warm day here today, at 68 degrees already. I talked with Mandy last night, and she will come back here one more day and night on Monday to pick up last minute things and make sure what I should leave here, like plants, if any. I intend to take one or two with me back to FL, and she might take a few for her house. Some might survive ok right here, as they did last year. But the baby will take preference this year, of course, so I can't count on having any plant care! I will take whatever I can fit with me.

My pool is still up, and I suspect I will get at least a couple more 'swims' (more like clawing along the bottom and floating on my lounger in the sun!)

I have lots to do, so I'm off now to do them. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning to all,

Raining and windy here in the Butte. It is going to be an R&R day. Take care everyone.

It's gotten cooler here in the East Bay (San Francisco Bay) too.
I'm still stuck in Dublin waiting for the re-re-build of my transmission.

On the up side, the Copper Skillet restaurant serves wonderful chicken fried steak (I'm from Kansas, what can I say). On the downside, the black water tank is full and I can't get to a dump station. The goddess gives, and we shovel.

I'm doing some crocheting, and trying to figure out how to warp my little Inkle loom.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.
