Like Beth said, you'll want to get what's comfortable for you and your circumstances. But I full-time in my 22' Class B for the same reasons Beth has a smaller Class C. We have others on here with just about any length & style, so browse the posts and pick their brains.

You will find these ladies make up a great support group, and a place to live & travel vicariously while you are caring for your husband. Jump in the conversations anywhere it interests you. Welcome!

Welcome, Patti,

Yep, lots of different opinions and none of them wrong! My late hubby and I full-timed for 3+ years before he passed away suddenly. No way was I ever going to go back on the road! Famous last words. 4 years later I hit the road with a 30' 5er. Decided I didn't need to haul everything all over the country plus there were places I just couldn't/wouldn't go. The 5er now sits in Arizona for the winters and I travel with a slide-in truck camper all summer. Camper has a slide out for the dinette and a shower. I am totally happy with it.

Haven't written anything lately but I am still getting/collecting ideas. Right now I have a hubby who is a disabled vet receiving disablility from agent orange, and now his doctor wants him re-assessed to include possible isometic(sp) heart disease cause of his 3 TIAs in May. It could take a year for all of it to get done. So that is my main concern now. Tho I am thinking of "what if" or "when". Then I will really rely on you for help! Have a great day. :P

Sorry to hear about your hubby's illness. I lived next door to another vet suffering the effects of agent orange. Evil stuff. If you need to talk, we are great listeners and also great at sending prayers and good thoughts, too.

And remember that you don't have to actually have a rig or be out there traveling at the moment to express an opinion or share a thought around here. All dreamers, wishers and doers are welcome! :)

Hi Patti ... here's a welcome from Utah. I'm sorry about your husband's declining health. But I can see your travel itch is alive and well! You picked the right place to research and gab ... we carry on so. We (including you now) are a bunch of intelligent, adventurous, strong, courageous and curious women who like to set our own sails. Some of us make impulsive purchases (I am raising my hand) and others research until I want to throw my mouse at them.

But we are all -- each and every one of us -- dreamers. Keep the dream alive.

Hi Patti, and Welcome to our group!

I am sorry to hear about your husband's illness from that nasty Agent Orange crap. I know you are struggling along right now, dealing with the illness, but keep the dream alive. We are all very good listeners on here, and hope to hear a lot from you.

Hi Patti,

Sorry to hear about your husband's illnesses too. But at least you are planning ahead to the future as the others have said.

I hemmed and hawed for a few years too about getting some type of RV since I am a single wormen. I've pulled trailers over the years, boat, snowmobile, popup etc. but never anything any bigger. Finally took the plunge, after a lot of encouragement from these wonderful ladies, and bought an 18 ft. Rockwood Mini Lite. It's just a nice size to haul around, has a slideout and plenty of storage space. I didn't want to get anything any bigger cause I am sill working in summers and can only camp on my days off. This trailer is neat cause it doesn't need a huge campsite to get into. Down the road here I might sell it and do something else, but at this point I am not sure. A small motorhome appeals to me, but I don't want to pull a toad behind and I am one of those kind of people who likes to park in a base campground and then go exploring and move on. So the trailer fits that bill well. Unhitch and go, hitch up and leave type thing.

You seem to be doing your homework and your husband is collecting as you say. One of these days, something will call "home" and you know you have found it. Have fun looking, reading, asking questions. It's what it's all about.
