Good Morning everyone,
A cool morning here at the 45th. Might have a few scattered rain showers. Have tosay, my grass is greening back up with the rains and cooler weather we have been having these past few weeks. The downside is that it means fall is coming and with it, the end of the camping season Breakfast was a bowl of cereal and a bowl of strawberries. Anybody want any, just let me know. Sorry, no coffee here as I don't drink it.
I just returned from another two nighter at Aloha State Park yesterday and as usual had a great tme. Hated to even pack up to come home. Seems like every trip gets harder to come back here. But one has to work and..... I'm on back to back trips this week and will be heading out again on Sunday, this time to meet up with our campground host at another park about 75 miles from here. She was host at Otsego from May till mid July this year and we have kept in touch since. Not even unloading my truck, just leaving everything right in there. Same with TT, just have to add a few clothes etc and of course food. Can't wait to get going.
But there is a downside to these trips and that is, my new tow vehicle is eating gas like crazy and it's making these trips expensive with the current price of gas, reservation and camping fees etc., and I am seriously thinking of doing one of two things. One is get rid of this truck and get another vehicle that can pull my TT (this truck is really an overkill), or selling the TT, getting a better mileage vehicle and waiting a couple of years till i retire and then pick up a new TT and start over. I do have a chance to work at another state park about 38 miles from here and it's very tempting. If I did that, no time for a camping. Too much driving back and forth. So over these next few months, I will be making some decisions here.
And how is everybody else doing? I haven't been on coffee for a bit here and haven't really caught up to all the happenings out there. Been monitoring Campfire but that's about all. We all go from busy, busy, busy in summer to now what in winter. Seems a let down actually, although having more time to oursleves is welcoming as well. And those of you who "snowbird" are probably starting to make your plans for another winter in your favorite spots.
6 more weeks to work for me and after that, not sure what I will do. Will be getting ready for winter around here I know, but no winter plans as yet. Hope to take my annual fall trip to the U.P. in October and will probably work at our Harvest Fest at the park the second weekend of Oct. We are cutting activities way back this year as we won't have staff to do much. Will be diffeent, thats' for sure.
So, got to head out the door here. Hope you all have a wonderful day, whatever it brings. Keep smiling.
