Wednesday Musings

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday Musings

Good Morning everyone,

A cool morning here at the 45th. Might have a few scattered rain showers. Have tosay, my grass is greening back up with the rains and cooler weather we have been having these past few weeks. The downside is that it means fall is coming and with it, the end of the camping season  Breakfast was a bowl of cereal and a bowl of strawberries. Anybody want any, just let me know. Sorry, no coffee here as I don't drink it.

I just returned from another two nighter at Aloha State Park yesterday and as usual had a great tme. Hated to even pack up to come home. Seems like every trip gets harder to come back here. But one has to work and..... I'm on back to back trips this week and will be heading out again on Sunday, this time to meet up with our campground host at another park about 75 miles from here. She was host at Otsego from May till mid July this year and we have kept in touch since. Not even unloading my truck, just leaving everything right in there. Same with TT, just have to add a few clothes etc and of course food. Can't wait to get going.

But there is a downside to these trips and that is, my new tow vehicle is eating gas like crazy and it's making these trips expensive with the current price of gas, reservation and camping fees etc., and I am seriously thinking of doing one of two things. One is get rid of this truck and get another vehicle that can pull my TT (this truck is really an overkill), or selling the TT, getting a better mileage vehicle and waiting a couple of years till i retire and then pick up a new TT and start over. I do have a chance to work at another state park about 38 miles from here and it's very tempting. If I did that, no time for a camping. Too much driving back and forth. So over these next few months, I will be making some decisions here.

And how is everybody else doing? I haven't been on coffee for a bit here and haven't really caught up to all the happenings out there. Been monitoring Campfire but that's about all. We all go from busy, busy, busy in summer to now what in winter. Seems a let down actually, although having more time to oursleves is welcoming as well. And those of you who "snowbird" are probably starting to make your plans for another winter in your favorite spots.

6 more weeks to work for me and after that, not sure what I will do. Will be getting ready for winter around here I know, but no winter plans as yet. Hope to take my annual fall trip to the U.P. in October and will probably work at our Harvest Fest at the park the second weekend of Oct. We are cutting activities way back this year as we won't have staff to do much. Will be diffeent, thats' for sure.

So, got to head out the door here. Hope you all have a wonderful day, whatever it brings. Keep smiling. :)

good morning ladies,
middle of the week and its gonna be a great day. Early release from school today so that means I get home early and can probably get some shopping done. Need to get some Dickie uniform pants/shorts for my airport job as the other ones are not Dickie but
have served the purpose up until now. They really want us all to wear Dickies. Nothing is really happening in my world other than work, work, work. But I really plan on taking some time off this year from the school district and actually go somewhere. I'm
thinking Las Vegas to catch a show or something like that, its only a 4 hour drive or a half hour on the plane if I so choose. I have
lots of sick/vacation time built up and if I don't use it by the time I retire I'll only get a third of it. My intentions are go get 100% of it as I've earned it and feel I deserve to use it. I've also thought San Diego would be nice too, I'd love to smell the ocean again. Its been so many years since I've stepped onto a beach, it would feel good too.
Time to get ready to go do my run, ya'll have a great day and be safe.
Vickie, sorry for your loss

Good morning Sue, Ava & everyone that follows!

Sue, I've been wondering how you've been. I hope you enjoy your upcoming camping outing with your friend. After looking at the pictures of your area that you've posted, I want so much to visit there. It will definitely be a summer trip, though!

Ava, by all means, take your vacation time. You earned it and it's yours!

It's warm & sunny on the east coast but we have a front moving in tomorrow bringing possible showers and thunderstorms. It's amazing how much the grass has grown since the rain we had last weekend.

My sister is home from the nursing home and is wearing a walking cast. My father had his cast removed a couple days ago and is also in a walking cast. After his physical therapist thinks he is strong enough, he & Mom can go back home, but for the time being, they are still in the nursing home.

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everyone. My morning started on a very happy note, as I was walking one of the dogs I heard the sound of a very excited child laughing in absolute delight coming from across the street. The new neighbors oldest child was dancing out the door with her feel hardly touching the ground, the rest of the family was following with big smiles. The little girl saw me an shouted, I'm going to catch the bus, today is my first day of school. I still have a smile on my face.
Ava so glad to hear you are looking forward to a vacation, that wouldn't be a hard decision for me, I'd head right for those ocean breezes!!
Sue it sounds like you are pleased with your trailer and like camping maybe trading for a smaller vehicle would be a start, seems I remember you saying there were lots of trailers for sale up there.
It isn't as cool here today doesn't take long to get spoiled. I cut my time outside too as the air was heavy with the smell of mosquito spray, guess the truck went by last night. They have really been spraying a lot this year guess all the rain made for a big crop.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

I haven't looked yet today, but the hornets should be dead, as their 'house' (quite a large hornet nest at this time) got sprayed last night. I felt sad for them, but safer for me and others who will use the shelter. I just don't like killing things.

After I discovered a leak in the front corner of my roof yesterday, following two days of steady, and sometimes driving, rains, Richard did his roofer-job thing and calked it for me. He also cleaned out my vent window which was clogged with FL love bug pieces/parts, and greased my crank-up antenna. He also checked for any other cracks or holes in the seams while up there, so I now feel as if my roof maintenance has been done for the time being. My plan is to have my local RV dealer do the inspection of the trailer this year, and then have him winterize it for me. I no longer have my good pressure blower-outer, and I need to replace that, too, when I can manage to save enough money to do so. I rarely, if ever, use water in here, so I won't miss not having any for the trip south. I'll fill my water jugs as I go, use my porta potty, and take sink baths. I do hope that baby won't tear at me to stay here for the winter! If the FL winter is anything remotely like last year's down there, it will be glorious.

I need to get moving here while the sun is shining. The weather forecasts aren't really ominous----part-time showers, possibly, but fairly decent temps. I will update my GTG post as soon as I get the mundane prep chores done here today, to let you know what I know, what is iffy at the least!

What Vicki and what loss? I see nothing about a loss in here---guess I should read other rooms and posts to find out.

Happy Wednesday to all----my SS day, and I need to check to be sure it did, indeed, get deposited toay!

Happy travels!

Morning ladies!

Well, maybe you all are morning ladies, I'm a mid-afternoon lady.

Tom didn't finish reinstalling my exhaust manifold yesterday, so I'm stuck at home. And feeling like 'real breakfast' this morning and not having a fridge, I don't have eggs at the moment.
I can't go out to eat and can't go get eggs. HOPEFULLY all these car repairs will be over soon.

Wish I could report that I was langorously watching the glorious sun peeping up over gamboling sheep as I lay in the midst of a field of heather and sipped my morning tea.
The reality is, I'm looking out the side window of the RV at Tech Shop's industrial back lot, watching the tech shop employee (complete with baseball cap) stand around waiting for opening, while I answer questions about the OpenSim install coming in on IM from a programmer, and sipping instant iced tea from an old re-used Starbux cup. And smelling my engine, since the hump's off.

I have been having trouble registering my MacSpeech the previous owner called them wrote them but still I cannot get it registered therefore I cannot use it!
I am in a dilema here... not sure if I should sell my motorhome or what... I will use it this winter and have a long long time to think of the advantages and disadvantages involved... I will go to my son's in September for a visit... he will help me sort out things in a logical way... I so wanted to do a last super trip and go to AK next summer as some are going... anyone that is a non smoker would you like to explore going along and share expenses? would be near people on the way there then on my own on the way back... who knows for sure what tomorrow brings...
Have a great day everyone...
