I’m the first in my family to RV. Never been in one except at RV Shows until I bought mine in March 2009, a 2008 R-Vision Trailsport TS23FDS travel trailer and a Chev Silverado. in 2008, I attended a Life on Wheels education conference given by the late Gaylord Maxwell.
I was 69 in April, retired from six years as a Chamber of Commerce Exec. Have been or done Medical Records Director, VP of a TPA, adm. assistant, bank teller, education coordinator for large craft/fabric store, drove a semi (that’s a whole nother story), owned a business making handmade paper. Now Paper Chase, a virtual office administration is my business (elevator speech = “Anything I can do on a computer in an RV, that is legal, ethical and moral”). I grew up in IA, lived in MO, NE, MN, worked in KS.I think I was born with “itchy feet”.
The first year I took three one week trips. First one was about 50 miles from home (testing the water, one little toe at a time?) I’ve been on the road full-time since April 30, 2010. A month in Hot Springs, AR, a month in Mitchell, SD, couple months back in MO with a few side trips on the way. Five months in Aransas Pass, TX (Winter Texan, Yah). Since April this year when I left the gulf coast, a week in Fort Worth to see a sis, a week in MO to see Mom (95 years young) a month in Omaha with daughter, two months in central MN and I am now in Branson, MO working with Missouri Community Betterment preparing for their statewide conference October 16 & 17.
Thanks to this forum, the LOW conference, other internet sources and great RVers, I’ve managed to stay out of trouble, so far!
