Monday up and at'em!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday up and at'em!

Postby Anniepoo » Mon Aug 15, 2011 11:00 am

Good morning all!
Up and at a Starbux, having my morning iced tea and computating.

I'm in Mill Valley. I'm trading lessons with a woman up here. I'm teaching her to make web sites, she's teaching me design.

I've been away at a convention all weekend. Tiring but fun! I've never been to a 'community' convention like this before. It was sort of a big gtg for people who use Second Life.

Thursday Tom worked on the RV and finally found the exhaust leak problem. Turns out there's a crack in the exhaust manifold itself. He's gonna replace it tomorrow.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.

Good morning (well, almost afternoon here in IL). :D

I'm sitting at work enjoying the calm before the storm, classes start next week so today and tomorrow will be eerily quiet, then all hell will break loose as 40,000+ students and their parents descend back on our small town.

Two cups of coffee this morning. Found a great book I couldn't put down last night.

Back to work this week. The summer has flown by, but I'm ready to see the kids again. Also getting ready for Stage Two of Surgeryville. I'm starting to feel like a science experiment.

Happy start to the week!

Just after noon here. Been running around all morning. Stopped by State Farm to get reimbursed for the towing charge from 2 weeks ago when my car broke down. Then stopped at a DMV place to find out how much it will cost to get my car (finally) registered in California. Also need to get a CA drivers license soon. It will be $200 for registration, $50 for smog testing, and $31 for a new DL. Whew! Expensive! And that is for an old cheap car. Can't imagine if it was a newer, more expensive car!

Now the next couple days, I need to get my place all spiffed up in case the manager wants to start showing it. It is in pretty good shape other than the trim around the front door where the dog scratched it all up, so I am working on repairing that, at least so it is not so noticable. I think the trim is made out of cardboard! It sure isn't wood of any kind.

Another hot day here in the mid 90's and a little sticky out there too. Will be glad to get down to San Diego where it is considerably cooler.

I also need to go clothes shopping soon. The dress code at the new shop is black and white only. (Boring!! ), so I need some more black pants and some black and white tops. I am a color kind of person so I am not happy about wearing such a bland wardrobe. I used to wear colored pants too until I had to switch to neutrals, but then I could wear colorful tops with them. Of course I have color-coordinated jewelry to match my colorful tops...

Hope you all stay cool and comfy today and have fun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

HOWDY ALL!

Late afternoon and raining since early morning.....a perfect day to take 'OFF' and just veg, do crossword puzzles, play Freecell, read some old papers I never got to, put away laundry, and that's about it. This morning, however, bright and early, I drove Richard to get his blood drawn for a test, the results of which are be faxed to his doctor in Fletcher Allen Hospital in VT. I got a few small items at Family Dollar while he was getting stuck, then we had breakfast at the Dead Dog Diner in Bloomingdale. (So-named as it used to be the local veterinarian's place!) It's been a light but steady rain here ever since we got back at about 9:00 am. With my awning open, I have a dry place to sit outside and listen to the pitter-patter of the raindrops.

Thursday and Friday I will follow Mandy to her house to help her pick massive amounts of blackberries that are growing there, and shop at WalMart for the upcoming Ruckus GTG. She has a doc appointment on Thursday, we will drop her car off to get inspected and fixed yet again, pick, weather permitting, shop, and head back here on Friday. Saturday I will put the pot roasts on to slow cook while I go to the local music fest in the rec park. When the rain stops and the hornets are killed, I will get the shelter and party barn cleaned once again and ready for company!

Getting anxious now to have a party!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
