Just say! The word and it does it. Still much to learn.

[quote="Redetotry"]Sorry you had to cancel Lenora. I do think the nurse is being overly protective for 3 stiches. I had 1/3 of my butt cheek removed and they didn't place any restrictions on me, I drove short distances as soon as I could sit one sided. If you can take frequent breaks I'd reconsider. Isn't your son a doctor? I'd ask his opinion. I would think any nurse could take out your stitches.quote]

Yes, I do feel she's being overly protective, but she and the Dr was really adament about the after care instructions that they gave me, bascially saying to lay low till the stitches comes out. I did take my GDs back to the fair the very next day and I paid for it as I had to ice my bottom all night. Luckily it settled down but yesterday I had to use ice again after walking the dog a short distance. I was pretty amazed at the amount of bruising when I changed the bandage this AM.

Some things I have asked my son about and the reply I get is: "ask your doctor, Mom, I can't diagnose you over the phone", unless it has to do with meds, then he's pretty forthcoming with suggestions and explanations but not when it comes to anything physical. He's also getting ready to deploy and has allot on his mind so I hate bothering him.

I'm mostly upset with myself for not remembering the GTG. To be this close and to screw it up!! :x

Not to worry Lenora! We will plan another gtg. (Actually, a week or so ago, I was pretty worried myself. Dad pulled a muscle/tendon/ligament ? in his groin. Because he was down and out I was doing all the chores. Lucky he bounced back quickly and is getting around ok now.)
