Partly Sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Partly Sunny Saturday

Postby Irmi » Sat Aug 06, 2011 9:06 am

Good morning everyone!

Coffee and fresh doughnuts are on the table, so please help yourself to breakfast.

I'm back home from doing my weekly grocery shopping and just came in from wiping the furniture down in the gaebo. We have a half bushel of steamed crabs that will be ready noontime, which we will be enjoying in the screened in gazebo. If anyone is in the area, please stop in!

I talked with my parents yesterday evening and they're as happy as they can be in the nursing home they're staying in. Dad needs to stay there another 4 weeks or so but in the mean time, Mom has an aunt coming from Germany in a couple weeks, so the two of them will stay at the house. Mom is looking forward to seeing her aunt again (Mom & her aunt are both in their 80's, so this will probably be the last time they'll see each other) and being in her own house.

My sister had the traction gadget removed from her leg this week. I was very unhappy to hear that her leg wasn't numbed first before they took the screws out of her bones. She said the pain was beyond words and she was not happy. She is in the same nursing home as my parents are, so they visit each other daily in their wheelchairs.

I need to get some more things done here, so I hope everyone has a wonderful start to their weekend!

GOOD MORNING IRMI AND ALL!

What a lot is going on in your life and that of your parents. I cannot believe they didn;t numb that leg before removing those screws, either. What are they thinking?

My swimming pool is looking beter and better each day now---the water is getting back to crystal clear as I exchange the filters in the pump about every two hours. I spent the afternoon in it on my floating lounger yesterday, and it sure did feel good!

My arm and hand are mostly back to normal size now, and the pain is negligible. I still haven't located my hornet spray killer, so the varmints are still active in the shelter. I need to go buy one if I can't find the one I think I have. I also need to call the doc about an epipen to carry with me.

Are there any of you ladies close enough to come to my Ruckus in the Mountains GTG on the 21st? If it is something you think you can do, I will gladly put up a post about it on the GTG room in here. So far, I think those who are coming are all from the Open Roads Singles group. I believe we will have about a total of 10 rigs here, give or take one or two. And there is room for more. It's a boondocking experience, as I don't have hookups, although you can fill water jugs from my house well water supply. So let me know. It goes from Sunday, the 21st, through that entire week.

Time to get in some more blueberry picking before the possible thundershowers predicted for this afternoon. It's already 83 here, with an overcast sky, so it is looking as if we might get some rain. We need some, actually.

Thanks for the goodies and coffee, Irmi!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning Irmi and Soos all that follow...
I have my coffee but am not on the ball like you are I am still in my robe... it takes a long time for me to get moving... I have never had crab but would like to taste it... my family never did any sea food... and my husband did not want any either so never have been exposed to it...
Not much on the list for today... will have to get my hair cut and stop at the store but that will be later...
I trust you all will have a good day...

good morning ladies
slept in and got some much needed rest, washed up my uniforms for tonight and now am running a tub for a nice hot bath.
Have a small shopping list to take care of so I'll be off to the store later on.
Its been hot here although I heard on the news yesterday that Oklahoma City was hotter than Phoenix yesterday.
Still catching up on posts, happy birthday to the ones I missed and welcome to the newbies I missed as well.
Gotta go check my bathwater so ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning travel pals! I'm at shop getting oil changed
in my van. All else pretty much ready to go. We will be
leaving for Crater Lake on Thursday. Sister and boys head home
the next Monday and I will drive over to Bandon. Yay! Very
excited to meet NW sisters!

Oh my screw removal sounds brutal. So sorry that happened.

Soos would LOVE to see your mountains and attend the gtg
someday!

Kath, wish I was still in my robe! Long hike yesterday wore me
out.

Hope everyone has a fun and happy day!

Ava, the temps sure are hot here. It was 112 yesterday, not including the heat index. The temp at 10 P M was 101 and the low this AM was 86. Our low was higher than Soos' day temp. :D The weather people said we might get some much needed rain Mon or Tues, so we will wait and see. If rain, the temps will go down to a balmy 96-97 for a few days. Won't complain, it's just too hot to do anything now.

Take care all and stay cool and hydrated. Linda

We have scattered showers today so it's not as hot as yesterday's 101.

I could sure go for some crabs. Wish someone would give my friends an ice chest full because they always share. We don't have an outside burner and I don't like to cook them in the house. I like to go crabbing but it is just too hot.

Soos, I hope one year I can make your gtg. Your area sounds beautiful and cool. Glad you are getting your swimming pool clear. Hope you can take care of the Hornets. I have only gotten into some once and they are vicious. They must have chased us 100 feet. It really is like they show in cartoons. I see Wasps coming to the Hummingbird feeder. I need to see where their nest is.

Need to go to town and I keep putting it off.

Been apartment hunting on-line all morning. I was able to change my GC's interiew in Poway to Monday morning instead of Thursday. I am also going to look at another apartment near there after the interview. It is $100 cheaper than the other place but I would have to share the bathroom with the woman who lives there. The apartment and bedroom sound like they are pretty big and roomy. She is a massage therapist so we could trade haircuts for massages! The other place I looked at is pretty small but I would have my own bathroom. They both have 2 cats, so Lola will have to get used to kitty company. Will have to compare the two once I have seen this other one. Of course, it all depends on if I get/want the job at that GC's. Hopefully, I will be able to make a decision on all of it soon.

Now, I need to get busy on housework!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
