Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy Thursday Morning

Good Morning All,

A foggy morning here at the 45th, after a cloudy, muggy, damp day yesterday. First time we have had a cloudy day in a long time and also the day before was the first time we have had rain in a long time as well. July hit the record books as the driest on record. August looks to be shaping up as about the same, but too early to tell. Going to get kind of warm again today and thrugh the weekend, but then looks like upper 70's/low 80's after that. Anybody want to cool off, come on up.

Gotta leave for work in a bit here, but had enough time to get on and see what's been going on out there. So much happening that I will never catch up. Been an exceptionally busy summer for me this year. Having the hot weather has made it more difficult to get things done, especially in the yard.

Booked another camping trip to Aloha State Park, a couple of weeks from now. Just the usual two over nighter. Hoping to get another one in before this month is over. Dentist appointments this week and next, have kept me close to home. Got my root canal done and have to say it wasn't that bad. I think getting crown work done is worse. After I get that crown on next Monday, I don't want to see a dentist for awhile. Enough is enough.

Lead ranger at work will be leaving today and will assume her duties at the other state park she was hired to supervise. Will miss her as we have worked together for 14 years. Now we will see what's it's like to work for the new boss outright. She is going to holdl a position open for me if I decide to follow her. The park is Burt Lake State Park and it's about 40 miles from here, so would mean a nice commute, but I-75 all the way. I would need a better gas vehicle before I tackle something like that. Am hoping to go camping there later this month. It's on Burt Lake which connects to Mullett Lake where Aloha State Park is, and it's always a busy park. Very hard to get into unless you make reservations way ahead. Not sure how camping will work out in September as I don't know what my work hours will be. Usually have been 8-4:30, so that means I would be leaving later from home and days are getting shorter. But if weather is nice, I am going. By then I can go to Burt or Aloha, close to home.

Well, time to start getting ready to leave and put this puter away. Have a wonderful day all.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Good to hear from you, and find out what you've been doing!

A perfecty beautiful day here today, again! I cleaned the pool filter this morning, found it had filtered out a bunch of iron gunk from the water, and put in a new one. I had thought it looked less orangey this morning, and I guess it should, as the filters seem to be doing their stuff after I shocked the water. I will change and clean the filters several times a day until the water becomes crystal clear once again!

Mandy's Joe came home last evening with a 3-wheeler, 5 auto gears and reverse, he bought in town for 300 bucks. Another new toy, and one that I find very dangerous! Pepa, the kids' grandfather, had one identical to it which he drove around the property almost until the day he died at nearly 90 years old, so I guess it can be driven safely if you keep your mind! HAH! Somehow I can't see that happening! But I will have to try it on the flat somewhere----I remember I hated the last one as it stays straight when you turn, unlike a motorcycle which banks into turns. I was used to my motorcycle, so that tricycle with a motor scared the pooty out of me!

After picking blueberries just before dark last night, I went into the shelter with Richard to look at the roof to contemplate various ways to fix that when other strong bodies get here, and, I was touching a wall when all of a sudden I felt a stab of pain in the back of my arm. A bald-faced hornets nest just above my arm had become the proverbial, "angrier than a nest of......!" Richard and I both ran, and I was lucky to get just that one sting. My arm hurt all night long, and this morning it's as big as an elephant's leg, red as a beet, and tight as a drum! The stinging stopped after I put one of those flexible ice packs on it, but I guess the swelling worked all night long! Today I will go to the pond and pick some jewelweed (touch-me-nots) to brew into a tea and then freeze into ice cubes to apply to stings and bites. Jewelweed acts like a miracle drug for relieving itchies, rashes, stings, and swelling. Sigh! I have gone for years and years with no stings up here, and now this on top of the several I got in my hand at the pond a few weeks ago....I guess if I had arthritis I should be healed with all that toxin! I plan to locate my hornet killer today, sneak up after dark tonight, and let 'em have it!

Hope you all have a great day doing something fun!

Happy travels!

Wow, Soos. That was a very bad reaction. Maybe you should have an Eppy Pen (not sure of spelling) on hand just in case of airway shutdown.
