Hello? It is Tuesday right?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hello? It is Tuesday right?

Postby BirdbyBird » Tue Aug 02, 2011 8:25 am

Anybody out there? Breakfast beverages are all ready, come and get them. Getting ready to drive Herschel over to visit his and Remi's friends. He has a lot to share but he will have to come back later and post his own news. Found a good quote from one of my acquaintances on the ECS forum (for Soos that is the English Cocker Spaniel Forum)

"Her life was okay. Sometimes she wished she were sleeping with the right man instead of with her dog, but she never felt she was sleeping with the wrong dog." Change of Life by Judith Collas

I kind of like that...
Also thought I would direct anybody interested in reading about hooking up with limited electric service to read Nick Russell's Blog today.

GOOD MORNING TINA AND ALL!

I love that quote, Tina!

It's 70 degrees here this morning with a hefty breeze. I am again working on getting my pool filled, and it's nearly up to the level where I can attach my pump and filter now. As soon as I can do that, I will be able to get in and enjoy it! (Of course, with that breeze, I might be freezing when I get out!)

Richard is due to show up today, and so is the new generator for the pond cabin. Joe will be the one to unload it from the delivery truck and get it ready to haul to the pond. Mandy has conferences of some sort at a nearby resort for the next three days, so she will off and running soon, I imagine.

I have been watching some channel on my TV all morning about childbirth, so I my eyes have been getting a good washing out with each birth! It never ceases to amaze me that a living, screaming creature can emerge from such a teensy little passageway!

Coffee is hot and tastes extra good today, and I am about to go into the house kitchen to get some blueberry cobbler to go with it.

Happy Tuesday wherever you are and whatever you may be doing!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning Tina, Soos and everyone else,

Love that quote too Tina and thanks for the breakfast offer, but I just finished some eggs, sausage and strawberries a bit ago. Now trying to decide what I want to do this morning. Could clean house, but that's no fun and not in mood. Gonna happen, NOT.

What I really want to do is take a ride up to Aloha State Park just for the ride, the girls want to do something too, and check out some open campsites so I can decide which one I want to book for the 14th/15th of this month. I know all the sites in that park, so booking is no problem, but for some reason I can't decide which one I want right now. There are 11 available along the lake and boat basin (only one on the basin) and also at the ends of two of the roads. But after looking at the local radar, I think maybe i will forget it, as there is a huge mass of heavy rain and thunderstorms coming in. Should be here shortly. As is, we have already had a shower. Guess I will just close my eye, pick a number and book   Also want to install a curtain rod in my TT to see how it works over the blinds and then get some more to finish the other two windows if it works nice. Took the curtains off when I put the blinds up and was going to leave them off, but decided to maybe put them back up for decoration.

Went to see my G.N.P. (for Soos, General Nurse Practioneer) for a follow up cholesterol check and my cholesterol has gone down some. Still high, but if I keep to this diet plan I am doing (stay away from sugary stuff (not that I won't eat a piece of cake or ice cream once in awhile), eat lots of protein, fruit and veggies) I should get it down more in the next 6 months. I've already dropped between 6-8 pounds too. Then it was over to the Endodontist to get the root canal work done. Was no big deal. Time went by pretty fast and I'm no worse for the wear. Actually I think getting the work done for a crown is worse. Other than my lower jaw being a little sore this morning, I'm fine. Was nice being in a small office with just him and a few other staff members. Much more relaxing than my dentists big office, lots of staff etc... I see my dentist next M :D nday to get the final crown put on and I hope that's the end of it. My checkbook doesn't need any more dental bills.

So guess it's time to get off and running here. It's already after 10 and I'm still in my jammies yet. :D

Loved your quote Tina!!! Tell Herschel we're anxious to hear him share his report but we understand he and Remi have responsibilities to their friends. Soos, I wish I could eat sweets for breakfast, blueberry cobbler sounds great. Last Sunday all I could think of I would like for breakfast was a glazed donut and a jelly filled donut but I just ate my scrambled eggs and dreamed.

Not much to do today it's supposed to be really hot and then tomorrow clouds and rain are supposed to move in and they hope the heat wave will start to break up. PLEASE let it be so. I shouldn't complain as I continue to have company which helps pass the time. My niece and her son were here from St Louis yesterday. He is 10 and fascinated with my RV she said he points out every one they pass now any time they are out on the roads. I'll have to take him camping this fall.

I had to laugh at a friends report on Facebook of the overnight sleep out she planned for her boys. She invited several others from the neighborhood and they set up tents in the backyard. I had to laugh as it looked like the adults were the ones having the party. For the kids, she had games and craft projects it looked like everything was totally organized even goodie bags with the kids name on them. I remember my brother at just a year or so older camping out overnight in the field across the street from our house. He would get all his stuff together and what he couldn't carry, he strapped on his dog and off they went. One time it rained and he told the dog stay with his gear. He came home and went back for his dog in the morning. I don't know how he trained that dog so well when he was so young. He's still training dogs, but now its' beagles.

Great quote. I remember a boyfriend once trying to shove my dog off the bed so we could cuddle (ick). I told him I'd rather have the dog. Boyfriend left.

Bobby and I are off to an overpriced waterpark today. I keep swearing I'm never going back because it's such a ripoff, but Bobby gets a free ticket from the library and then I feel guilty. Does Mom Guilt ever go away?

Supposed to be cooler here by a lot, but I'm not feeling it yet. I suppose when I get in the overpriced waterpark's water (like ice cubes) I'll change my mind.

Hey everybody. Soos, are they trying to say you're abbreviationally challenged? I would have thought GNP was gross national product myself, and why would Sue go to see it? I don't know what Ill do either today, right now another cup of coffee, play along with TPIR (The Price is Right) and whatever i do later I may do in the pool, heat index around 110 today. At least this year I am enjoying and using the pool, may go get grandkids. School starts in two weeks. Everyone have a good day whatever you choose to do with it. Wendy

Wow! 2 great quotes for the day...Tina's, which is pretty much where I am at this point in my life and a great one on Nicks Blog:

Thought For The Day – Lord give me patience, because if you give me strength I may beat someone to death.

So guess that about sums it up for me!!

Off to Wallyworld to get a few things, hope everyone has a great day and safe travels.
Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fat.

/quote]

It switches and does a 180. Once they are grown, you can then lay the guilt trip on them.   Such fun.

Going to be another really hot one today. 111 is expected, that's just the temperature without the heat index. The weather people also said this continuous heat dome will last until the end of the month. How lucky are we??? NOT The dome is also keeping the rain away. We are borderline on excessive drought as we have had no real rain for months. The grass is a crunchy brown and obviously not growing much.

Loved the quote Tina. Take care all, drive safely and stay cool. Linda

I went to town to eat lunch with a friend and then went to Walmart. Oh my gosh, it is hot. It feels like the humidity is 100%. I wanted to go to Lowes too but decided that could wait until another day.

I remember trying to camp in the backyard when we were kids but I don't think we ever made a night. My brothers were chicken and I wasn't staying by myself. lol Mother let us buy an old green canvas army tent and we had more fun with that old thing. Kids today would turn up their nose at something like that. About every other year we would all get a cheap Indian print blanket for Christmas that we could do anything with. We put those things through the mill.

Remember those Indian print blankets well and spent many "almost" nights with one slung over a clothesline with the corners held down by a couple bricks to form a tent. Well, a tent shape. lol We did make it one night and woke up the next morning covered with tiny pissants. In our ears and other places. ;) :o
