SUNNYDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNYDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Another perfect Adirondack, sunny, clear morning here today! Very cool last night----a sleeping bag night, with Molly pressed up against me at that. My pool is filling a bit faster now that the largest circumference of its bottom has been filled, and the tapering sides shrink that circumference with each inch closer to the top.

My campsite right here on my own property is the best of all worlds! I have my trailer home, my beautiful view, my pond for canoeing, blueberries for the picking, (those are FREE food!) all my "stuff" inside the house, my leanto, my trails for walking, freedom for Molly, and on and on. Now that I don't have to face another year of working everyday in the long, dark, cold winters, hauling firewood and shoveling snow and chipping ice and all that, this has been become my summer retreat!

A friend, Richard the Roofer, called last night, and he plans to come here Tuesday and stay on and off until the Ruckus in the Mountains. It will be fun to have him here to play some tunes at night around a smokeless fire. He is very susceptible to smoke, so I will use those fake logs for the campfires-----they burn for hours and hours and are nearly smokeless.

I just had my coffee and a bowl of the bluebery cobbler I baked last night in this trailer oven----the first time I ever used it or lit it. As you can tell, cooking is not my favorite activity! It came out really good, but next time I will change my made-up recipe a bit to make it even better. I should be able to get another gallon of blueberies in no time at all this morning, and try another cobbler. This one will go like wildfire when the kids get a taste of it.

Happy Sunday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning to all,

On my 2nd cup of java this morning. The sun is shining, should be hot and humid today. :D

Last week I got a call from a new member of RVing Womem, Nancy Oliver, who happens to live near my home. She had seen my name in the RVing Women directory. Yeah, another women rver near Martha and I. We meet for dinner and conversation. I told her about this forum and all the wonderful rving women here, so hopefully she explore the forum and decide to join us. You can never have to many rving women friends. :D

Well, I am going cook breakfast, then off to Church. This afternoon I will be meeting with Nancy at ther home. She lives on a farm. I love the country!

Have a great day everyone! Safe travels.

A little cooler here this morning. Yesterday afternoon my neighbor and I sat over our dishes of vanilla ice cream with cantaloupe sliced on top commenting that it didn't look like the promised rain was coming. Within two minutes the clouds came along with a strong wind and then the wonderful rain! Temps dropped 20 degrees in moments!! We were so happy.

So I'm off to church this morning and I've already moved a few things into my van getting organized little by little. I'm also realizing how little space there is for stuff!! I need to look for some of the old melmac, I think it was called, dishes.

Soos glad to hear your friend is coming to get the party atmosphere started. Hopefully we'll soon have a new member from the south.

Good Morning Ladies! I am thrilled as it's raining a little here in Central VA. We've had it soooo hot and humid here--nearly unbearable. I cannot wait to get up to the NW next year. Saw on the weather that Seattle was about 75 and sunny the last few days. That sounds so perfect! I wish the rain would hang around, but it isn't supposed to.

I finally got into some of the boxes that hadn't been unpacked since I moved here. Found a whole bunch of old training books that will no longer be needed. The pages are in the shred box now; will take all the 3-ring notebooks to work--doing my part to save a little Federal dollar or two by recycling!  Maybe this savings will tip the negotiations so we can get Congress to finalize a debt ceiling issue. ;) ;) Yeah right!! I figure if I clean out three boxes a weekend, I will be done with all of them by the time I retire! :?

Going out to Foo Foo this morning and get it aired out a little. Will be taking her out on Thursday with all the fur babies for the weekend. I have some of that fake grass on a rubberized backing. I'm going to cut it to fit inside the shower stall (and a bit up the sides) to contain the kitty litter during travel and during the day. Most important is that the litter does go down the drain. But I think the astroturf might help with litter staying in the space and not ending up all over the rig. The shower is sort of pie slice shape so this could be interesting to cut. I got a 5' X 10' square piece of the turf for $10. it was a remnent at Lowes, and when I explained what I needed it for, the Lowes guy lowered the price a few bucks! :) :) So I might even have a enough of a pice left over to use on the ground below the steps. Wish me luck; if I can get reception, I'll watch the Brickyard 400 while I'm working!!

Soos: Those blueberries sound wonderful...wish we could get some of those down here! Cobbler...YUMMMM!!

Hope you all have a great Sunday...Stay Cool if you can...

Morning,

Having my first cuppa and enjoying a quiet moment. My youngest GD came yesterday to stay a few days. She was here less than an hour yesterday before she asked to go to the mall. She's found a sucker in her Grammy. ;) So from 1:30 - 6:30 we shopped! She loves trying on clothes/shoes/jewelry...very girlie. I ended up buying he 2 pr of boots and some slip on shoes and vest. That was before she had a berry blast drink at Orange Julius and did the bungee bouncing thing they have set up in the food court. I did manage to get me a pair of tennis shoes. Oh, and she had a piece of pizza from Sharos and I had a hard time trying to find just a salad or steamed veggies. I ended up getting a salad from McDs and after the first bite I pulled up a huge black hair. :o :( I don't do "hair in the food" well, and my stomach started doing flip flops. I took it back and they didn't blink an eye in giving me a refund.

Soos, the blueberries sound wonderful. My 2 GD wanted to go to our ususal "U-Pick" blueberrie place but I see this year it's closed. The owners are way past retirement so I'm thinking they finally gave it up. Too bad as it was just 5 mi from here and the berries were enormous!

Update on my friend with the preemie: baby Enzo has gained a few grams and is taking 1.5 ml of momma's milk at a feeding. I'm not into metrics but it all sounds like a good thing. :D My friend, on the other hand, is back in the hospital as she is bleeding inside. Also blood in her urine so continued prayers for this little family please.

Glad those areas needing it are getting some liquid sunshine! Looks like it might be a while before we get some added moisture, too.
Ok gotta scoot! Safe travels to on on the roads!

Yesterday was the first day in 2 weeks that it didn't rain here but I was in Lafayette and they had a hard rain. If it doesn't rain that means the temperature goes up. It's already 100.

I put a 10 pound brisket in the oven this morning. It won't be ready for lunch unless we slice some off and eat it like a roast. I usually bake one for about 3 or 4 hours, slice it and cook another hour with BBQ sauce. My DH isn't too crazy about it but I get hungry for one sometimes. I freeze some in small containers to take camping. Makes good sandwiches.

Soos, is getting us turned on to blueberries. lol Yesterday I bought another big container at Sam's to freeze. Got some more of the cheese that I liked so much before it disappears. I made a grilled cheese sandwich with it and it was really good.

I quit using the cat litter boxes they sell and started using tall rubbermaid bins. I cut out a door on one end. It helps to keep them from flinging cat litter all over.

Way to go Carolyn on your recruiting. lol We are getting enough Louisiana members for a GTG.

Pouring down rain here! In SoCal of all places! And Thunder! Wow! Pretty chilly, too. If the sun comes out it's going to be really miserable. There went my plans to work on Hope! I'm NEVER gonna get out of here! I'm so depressed I'm still in my jammies. :D I know it'll all get done, but I really wanted to get up on the roof and get the new exhaust fan for the fridge installed. sigh. Oh well.

I talked to Robi this morning, she's in San Diego now. I told her she needs to get back on the forum, we miss her.

That's about it from here....hope everyone is having a loverly Sunday. Martha, would you save a couple of slices of that brisket without sauce for me? Love Brisket, not crazy about BBQ sauce. I'll take a couple of slices of that cheese to go with it. Thanks, GF!

Oops, too late with the BBQ sauce Sharon. I'll just have to cook one for you. I like the smoked brisket at the BBQ places but we don't have a good pit and I have a hard time not burning things. I let my DH cook on it so I can blame the burned food on him.
