Sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday

Postby HorizonSeeker » Sat Jul 30, 2011 6:55 am

Morning ladies. The sun is shinning in the diinette window and the reflection off the lake makes it even brighter. Guess we need to get up and get going. Camping at Old Federal COE on Lake Lanier this weekend with my nephew Clay. He's cooking breakfast this morning on the campfire so get your orders in quick. The kayaks are near the water and we plan to find some geocaches on the islands near us. Did one last night that was 2 miles away from here. Boy am I sore this morning!

Stay safe and have fun!

Boy, do you sound like you are having fun. I guess I would be sore too if I kayaked two miles, but then...... Breakfast on the campfire sounds so good. Workingthe morning shift at the park, I get to smell all the differnt breakfast smells wafting through the camground and boy can it make a person hungry.

Going in on the afternoon shift again today, so thought I would stop in and say hi. I'm so far behind on this forum that I'll never catch up. I know I"ve missed all kinds of things, but oh well. One has to do what one has to do, and that's work, And Keep up house. And cut grass. And take care of business. And of course go CAMPING!!!!!! :D Wish I could go again this week, but dentist appt for Monday afternoon, so....

We are still adjusting to the new boss at work. He's starting to get his act together so to speak as to what he wants done etc. Been asking questions of us to see what we thing the priorities are on our different shifts, like mine first thing in the morning. And also of the camp office gals about different things as well. He's got things he wants to do, but they won't be implemented overnight. Most of our college students are leaving on or by August 24th, so that will leave only 6 of us there till Labor Day and then after that it will only be the 4 of us on the Maintenance crew and one in the Camp Office on weekends. We've got a lot of work to do this fall and also plan our Halloweenfest in October. It kind of sounds like I might be working into October this year.

Our lead ranger has accepted a position as Supervisor for another park about 40 miles from here. Say she will hold a position open for me and any of us others who want to come along. So I"ve got to do some thinking this winter. In a way I would like to work with the new boss and in another I would like to go with her. Course if I go north, I would need to trade my gas guzzler tow vehicle for something better and probably sell my TT as I wouldn't have time to use it anyway. Had though about doing that for a couple of years till I can sell house and retire and then do what I want. Decisions, decisions..... i know, I know, I've been spinning this broken record around over and over on here. But I know I'm not the only one :)

Things are abnormall day up around these parts right now. Haven't had any rain in almost a month and with the record setting heat we have had, needless to say, my yard looks like straw out there. But it will come back in the fall when the weather cools down. I'm hoping that summer continues into fall this year. We are in the 80's this week and early next, but low humidity so it's great.

Well, time to head for the tub, wash the hair, fix something to take to work for my dinner etc. Time will fly in the next hour and a half before I leave, so must get going. Have a wonderful day all.

GOOD MORNING/ALMOST NOON TO ALL!

I have had breakfast, set up the Graco Pack 'n' Play to make sure the new rods I ordered to morph it into the bassinet are the right size, (they are) picked the day's new quota of raspberries, (all growing right around and under my deck so I have no distance to go to pick them) turned the well pump on and off to continue with pool filling, perused Mandy's Amazon wish list for the new baby, had two cups of coffee, and will now go get dressed so Mandy and I can go to nearby Buck Pond Campsite to visit one of her high-school friends and her family. All in all, a very productive morning, so far!

The rains of last night did little to aid in helping to fill my pool, unfortunately. It sure did cool off, as it's now only 69 degrees here at nearly noon.

You really have been busy,Sue, and so have others of you. Breakfast cooked over an open fire is my kind of morning!

Oh yes----reminds me when you mention your kayaks----I still need to put my canoe into my pond and launch my paddleboat down there!

Happy Saturday to us all, and may you find fun things to do no matter what the weather and other conditions.

Hello Ladies,

Well, it is early Saturday afternoon. I have been up since 6:30 AM, but had to have coffee, breakfast, etc before starting on paperwork. The sun is shining, but it is hot and humid. :) We are expecting rain all this week.

I am taking a break from doing paperwork this morning (I am the executris of my father's estate), which I have been avoiding. It is time to get things moving. I have put it off long enough. I took care of what I had to do, but left the rest for later.

I have someone coming this afternoon to look at my father's house and my house (not the one I am living in) that are for sale. Hopefully, I will get both homes sold before I retire. :D

I am dog sitting for my niece this afternoon. Samari is such a good dog.

That is about all that is happening on my end. Have a great day and stay safe!

HOPE IS HOME!!!! YAYYYY! Now it's time to get busy and get her sorted out, some small repairs done and start loading! I stopped and fueled on the way home so that's done, no need to go back out until I pull out of the driveway and point her nose east! BF should be back from Wy Sat or Sun and pick up his furbabies. Hopefully I'll be out of here by Aug 10th or so. That's all of the news I have for now! Gonna go out and play with the new B/U camera, it has some features I'm not sure about.
