Herschel makes it to Dale Hollow, TN

Surprise, surprise, there must have been a cancellation 'cus we got to come to Dale Hollow, TN, after all. The GHL did that last lingering check of the the reservation site before checking out COE spot farther west and there it was right in front of her nose. Site # 40. You have to be a Short Bus to fit in here....another of those 30ft or less. All I know is that we got here and I got to go swimming while we waited for the site to clear. It is suppose to be hot hot hot this week but as long as she lets me swim I'll be a happy dog. The GHL said the water is higher than she has seem it in a long long time. I am thinking like before her hair was gray. We'll take more pictures later but here Remi and I are waiting for a walk around the campground so that we can check out all the other sites. Do you think we got close enough to the water?

Image

This site is suppose to have electric but I was thinking that the ducks don't need it.

Image

Most of the sites are just fine but their boats are a lot closer to their tents. You can get this one but it comes without electric.

Image

Or this one.

Image

The electric site were pretty much all taken. The ones down on the water cost a little more, but the GHL was getting all excited when she realized that on her next birthday she can get THE magic pass that will give her 50% off our camping costs. Silly hoomans, I'm probably old enough in dog years but they don't think of us.....

Image

Image

If you just want trees and shade....the site up at the top of the campground are cheaper, too.

Image

When we got back from our walk we noticed a fisherman next door in the cove.

Image

That got the GHL thinking about how hot and sticky it was. The next thing I knew she was in the water. :o She made me stay with Remi on shore so he wouldn't worry about both of us swimming off without him. He is a sensitive guy. :) The GHL said that sitting out and reading at the campsite was greatly improved after the swim. But that is what I am always telling her myself.

I am thinking that we may have to get one of the kayaks out if she keeps this up. We will see about that tomorrow!

Oh, what a great place - for hoomans and 4-footed friends. Love it. Wish I could say I could get that pass next year. Waiting impatiently for it :)

What an awesome spot for furbabies and hoomans alike! Yup, I'm with the GHL, I would have been in the water, too! Enjoy your stay, Herschel, and make sure mom gives you plenty of water time!

You guys lucked out, what a great site. What is the little tent behind the trailer, the out house? I have never tried fishing like that but a good idea in this weather. Love the rug.

Looks like the ideal spot Herschel, your hooman did good. I think that guy fishing has the right idea just wade right in and keep cool. I wondered too what that out house looking thing was behind that one trailer. Have fun, you are a good brother for keeping Remi company while the GHL had a swim.

Why would they need an outdoor shower with all of that lovely water right at their door??? When the kids were all at home and we went to the river, they would go over to the bath house and take a shower, I'd make popcorn and settle them outside with a movie, then Jack and I would go out on the boat to the middle of Havasu Lake and take our baths out there. Soooo much more refreshing. Of course it was dark, and not many boats out.

Herschel, Looks like you, Remi and GHL had a really great time after checking in. I just know the GHL will put you in that kayak and hit the water. Bet you get to swim too. Don't you just love that life style?

Keep a close eye on everything and everyone, keep them safe and happy. Stay cool, too and hydrated!!!

Was wondering where you were these days. Looks like it was worth it to have to wait for that swim (seems you were too clean to go swimming at the dog park in NC) Lots more water opportunities where you are now anyway. Enjoy.

That little tent thing is for a shower and/or bathroom. Wish I would have had one of those with me last weekend!

Looks like a wonderful spot to camp! Love being on the water! That one site was a little too much "in" the water

Have fun Herschel and Remi!
