Colleen, thanks for the heads up about the cg in New Orleans. I'm half way thinking about going there before I head north to the Blue Marlin cg. All depends on when I get out of here and how much time I have.

Currently have Good Sam - belong to a local Chapter for years and they have campouts once a month. Have made lifelong good friends there. Also like to attend Good Sam Samborees (rallies) that are held once a year in each state (2 of them for Calif, northern and southern). Don't consider the discount as being the major reason to join. The monthly magazine is pretty good with articles and tips.

Also belong to FMCA (Family Motorcoach Assn). Great value just to get the magazine! I don't belong to a local chapter any longer because I never attended their campouts, but I do go to the larger rallies once or twice a year. If you have never attended a rally, it's a fun experience with vendor booths, seminars, and entertainment every night (that goes for Good Sam's rallies, too).

Passport America - I am one of the early lucky ones who has a lifetime membership. These aren't offered any longer, but I've been a member for years. It more than pays for itself even at the yearly price if you spend more than a week traveling. Sharon and I use PA almost exclusively on our trips together and are always quite happy with the parks. I'm sure she'll use that card on her large cross country trip coming up.

Used to have Coast to Coast Deluxe - When we first bought into the system, it was $1/night and our home park had 4 parks where we could stay free. Never did get our money's worth out of this even though we always tried to find a park near our destinations. As the per night cost went up, the annual dues were higher than our savings.

Good luck. My advice is Passport. Can't go wrong with them.

OOPS , forgot to thank Birdie for the heads up on the TACO card! As many times as I've driven thru Tx (and trust me, it's been a bunch!) I had never heard of this. Gosh, the info that we share is just awesome!

The descriptions aren't real good, but I use the net to find out more about the park. I also have Good Sam, only saves 10%, but that's better than nothing. Trailer life campbook is my travel go to for parks. Have AOR and RPI, but use them so seldom I'm thinking of giving them up. They would be great if I full timed.

Camping clubs that I spent Waaaay to much money on. I used them almost exclusively when I was traveling with my sis and BIL (they talked me into getting them), but now that they are stationary W/C, I never use them. Can't remember what the letters stand for, and all of my stuff is in Hope....who is back in the hospital for some minor stuff before I take off.
