Thanks for remembering us. So here's what happened, Ronnie's Dad, Mom, sister Sherry and her two daughters came over yesterday around 5pm to show us Sherry's new to her vehicle then they headed to Beaumont TX to eat at the Golden Corral, about a 45 minute drive from here. On I-10 before they even got to the next town, he said something didn't feel right, they thought he meant with the vehicle, but realized as he went into the median and back on the road twice, that something was wrong with him. He said he couldn't see, they said he was really out of it, Sherry managed to get control of the steering wheel as he was heading across the line into a 18 wheeler and get them back in the median, somehow the vehicle stopped on it's on in the grass without turning over. He takes meds for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, PTSD and such. He's a tough little man and doesn't let on when he's having problems. (I say little man because of his small stature he was one of the guys that would crawl through the maze of underground enemy tunnels in Vietnam.) Anyway, so once they got the vehicle stopped, he was vomiting, had loss of bladder and bowels and his eyes rolled back, they thought he was gone! The police and ambulance got there and took him to the hospital, he had another episode in the ambulance. When we got to the hospital, they were running tests, CT, chest xray, blood and urine. Blood pressure was normal, blood glucose was normal for him 113-119 even though he hadn't eaten all day except for a cherry limeade, which could have been why his BG was not low with all that sugar in it. Around midnight he had another episode with all the same things happening. This time, they had decided to admit him and he was hooked to a heart monitor, so hopefully it will show what his heart was doing at the time. Overnight his blood pressure was low 60/44, but came up a little this morning to 100 over 60something, I think. Today, we're waiting for the doctors to see what they say and if they will run more tests or what. Please keep him in your prayers, this is Ronnie's entire family except for some very distant relatives, so it's really scary for them. This man is not his biological father, but has raised him since he was 3 years old and has been the rock of their family.
