Let's get together!

Just remember if you book something on your own and not through the cruise you are on your own. If an excursion is late getting you back to the ship they are suppose to wait for you if you booked with the cruise line. That happen to me and we were an hour and a half late getting back to the ship but it was their excursion so they waited. Talk about some nervous tourists.

Oaky, I have been restling with going, not going. I am not even sure the "group" reservation is still open. I have never been on a cruise. I am not a seasoned traveler by boat, land or RV. :D All these preparations are new to me.

What time does the cruise ship leave on Sunday, Sept. 11? What time do we board ship? What time does the cruise ship return on Sunday, Sept. 18? How much time do I need to give myself to get to airport for my return flight? Do we need dress clothes or all causal clothes okay for this cruise?

Getting there scenerio: I would want to fly in the day before, because I would be worried something would happen with my flight. Should I be concern? If I go a day in advance, then I need to book a hotel for that night. I would need transportation from airport to hotel, then transportation to cruise ship the next day. Note: I am assuming transportation needed will be a cab.

Going home scenerio: I would need transportation to airport from cruise ship.

Are any of you flying in the day before and staying at a hotel? If so, what time are you arriving and what hotel are staying in? Are y'all flying home on the Sunday when we return to Miami? If not, what are your return plans?

Now, with all that said, I would need a roomMate (I saw Readytogo was inquiring about one) and need to be able to take the week off from work. PS I am going to the Arkansas GTG, by RV of course. :D

Any help or suggestions on these matters are welcome! :?

Hi carolyn, for awhile thought maybe neighbors hsband wanted to go, but everything's set now. Don't know if those rooms hold 3 people, anybody? In answer to other questions, we are flying in day before, staying at the Regency flying out at 11;10the morning the cruise comes back. my neighbor called carnival and assured her that was enought time altho I thought it was cutting a little close! Most of the hotels have trans to the cruise terminal and pickup at the airport. Wendy

Thanks for the info Wendy.

Is there anybody looking for a roommate. If I don't get a roomate, I will not go, but I am sure there will be other cruises in the future. :D I may have to plan my own 60th. :D :D :D

Carolyn, can you pm me your phone number. I will pm you mine, too. I wanting to know if the group rate is still applying or any other info you can let me know about.

Thanks.

Carolyn, the group rate will not apply because it's after June 28. You could probably get a rate and if Wendy wants to change to a room for 3 then you could work that out through Carnival. Don't know if there would be a charge for Wendy and Gwen to change to 3 to a room. You can call me if you have further questions.

Carolyn, thanks for the info.

I think I will just forget this idea. It was a last minute thought. Since, that idea is out of the way, I will concentrate on possibly attending the Texas Ramblin Roses Rally in late September, then drive on up to Arkansas for the GTG there. :D

I enjoyed the conversation, too. Don't bring any winter clothing...you won't need it.

My wisdom for the day. If you are going on a Sept cruise do not put off until Aug your swim suit buying. :? :) Carolyn was right, those Land's End suit sure look nice. But all the great finds that appear to be left are for those lucky size 2,4,6 girls.    I can only search on line so long and then I have to rest up and get therapy for a awhile before I try gain... :)

Oh yeah, try Kohls, too, they have cute ones. And they're on sale.
