Finally got it home!!

I'm so glad this model has the enclosed bathroom and not the type you have to pull out into the aisle! The couch makes into a queen size bed with the push of a button and the two passenger seats make a single bed. It is in really good shape, looks brand new inside and out. They people who owned it bought it new and always had it serviced there at Van City. They explained all the millions of things I need to know but I can't remember much. We did do a video with our Canon G11 camera but not sure how the sound is going to be. I'm totally overwhelmed right now and not sure if I"m excited or in shock wondering how I will ever manage all the things you have to remember. I doubt seriously I can pull the batteries out to check the water, there are little things all over you need to remember to turn off when you get gas, and I doubt I will ever get the TV or the refrigerator working. So is this normal or am I overly obsessing. I wish someone was close that I could apprentice with!!! My DH did go with me as my friend who was going to take me to pick it up couldn't get off work. He was wonderful even though he has not been in favor of this adventure. I don't do heat well so he stayed for the walk though and followed me home to be sure I made it. I think I just need to take it to a campground here and try things out little by little...step by step

BJ, I'm so excited for you. I think your "nerves" are normal.
I'd say come on down, but I certainly don't know enough to teach a thing, much less anything other than a trailer.

You'll get the hang of it. Didn't someone here post a "check list" a while back?
Just go slow, and don't get interrupted when you're doing "your thing", and walk around the rig when you think you've done everything (I've caught my antenna up several times during the walk around...)

Yayyy! Yup, nerves are normal and you'll figure it all out. Manuals help, I'm sure the previous owners left them for you. It really is easy, you just need to practice....and your driveway is a good spot to start.

how exciting, but yes, a case of nerves. That will be fixed just by "doing" Just do baby steps if you need to.

That is such a nice unit, BJ! Why not try spending a dy & night in your driveway and then take it to a nearby campground. Things will fall into place easier than you think.

Congratulations! I know about first-timer butterflies and they will all go away once you realize that everything works properly when properly operated (that's my mantra -- read: I always screw it up the first time! )

Yes, nerves are normal. I forgot half what the previous owner told me during a walk-through. Thankfully they gave me their email and graciously answered questions later. It will all come together, just relax and enjoy.

It's a nice rig. I vote for driveway camping to begin with. You'll be able to go through the steps one at a time and "experiment" at your own pace. Once the maiden night(s) are over, then it will be off to a CG for actual adventures. Enjoy your rig, don't be afraid to "just do it". Linda

I'm totally overwhelmed right now and not sure if I"m excited or in shock wondering how I will ever manage all the things you have to remember.

I just returned home yesterday after my first BIG trip in my new to me camper from FL to NY. Overwhelmed is a word I would have used or "high state of anxiety". At one point my electric outlets would not work. I didn't know if my adapter would work to plug into my sister's electric and I was afraid to try it without confirmation that it was the correct one. I ended up going to a local camper store - yes, it is the right adapter and I called a campground to get other questions answered. My gas tank cautions me to turn off my propane refrig when I gas up. No problem but remembering to turn it back on? Required another stop down the road. Ran out of propane and didn't know it, so refrig freezer started to defrost. Only thing in it was a package of blueberries but what a mess! I now feel so much calmer about it all. Spent one night in my land home and miss my camper.

Congrats! You will feel comfortable with it in time. One day at a time. Practice in your driveway, until you feel comfortable.
