Travel Tips from Truckers

I thought some of you might like to take a look at the travel tips in this article: http://www.examiner.com/rving-in-national/america-s-truck-drivers-offer-driving-tips-for-rv-ers-and-motorists?CID=examiner_alerts_article
Just keep in mind that it is written by truckers but you could actually substitute "RVs" in some of the places where it references trucks. :D

There was a time when I thought truck drivers were the best drivers on the road. That was years and years ago. They need to follow their own rules. I've seen truck drivers recently cut off other trucks, cars, etc. And cutting me off in the rv isn't something I enjoy as I can't stop on a dime either. That said, the rules for driving around trucks hasn't changed. I do find it odd that they are putting out a page to tell rver's about driving around trucks. Wonder if they think we aren't following the rules?

Maybe the thought was that there are a lot of RVers that are ONLY out there on holidays and don't have a lot of relevant experience driving. Just a thought. Most of us would try not to be hitting the road during those times. I've had more experiences with cars whipping in two feet ahead of my bumper than trucks but there are all kinds of bad drivers out there.

Hope you didn't get me wrong - it's good info - for all drivers. Makes no difference what they are driving. And for rver's it's good to remember that we fall into the "trucker" category on many things - including stopping distance.
