Cool Wednesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Wednesday Morning

Good Morning all,

A cool morning here at the 45th. 50 degrees anda bit cloudy, but promise ofa sunny day. Just got back from a two night camping trip yesterday morning. Didn't go far, just over to the park I work at. Had a nice time and nice weather. Monday afternoon threatened rain, but it held off till I was getting ready to hitch up yesterday morning  Perfect tming on mom natures behalf

I did come home on Monday afternoon for a bit however. Needed to do some shopping etc., so left the furkids home here for awhile, did that, washed my hair, picked up my mail and then we all headed back to the park. The furkids had a nice time sniffing all the sniffs around the place on our walks and our campground host and i were visiting and chatting. She came over for cdampfire on Sunday night and we stayed out there till 11 p.m. she's quite some handy lady. Has put new insulation inside her hybrid camper, made herself a complete screen room with vinyl windows for under her awning, and heavens knows what else. the camper was used and needed some work and work she did. Got lots of ideas from her for some things I want to do in my camper. Told her about this forum and she is goingto check us out. Right now doesn't have a computer hook up at the park so will wait till she gets back home in a couple of weeks. Her stint as host is up on July 12th. The hosts can stay all summer but many like to stay for just a month or so and then spend time with their families or take trips etc. while summer is here.

Otherwise same old around here. I'm so far behind reading the posts etc. on this site, it will take me time to catch up. Want to welcome all the new folks to the forum too. Will catch up on your introductions eventually. That time of year. Grass cutting awaiting me when I get home today and have to take a table and chairs over to neighbors garage sale as well as my old computer printer. It's not compatible with Windows 7 and this computer, so decided to get a new one. All kinds of things going on.

Time to get ready for work, so am running along here. Hope you all have a wonderful day. If you are on the road, enjoy, anybody with illnesses etc., take care and prayers going out for you.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Glad you had a good time with your first campout of the season, Sue! That camphost sounds like she would fit right in with our groups! What does she do as a host? I mean, as in her chores and responsibilities?

Overcast and 59 degrees out there...not a bad morning at all. Back is feeling better this morning, so I hope I can be careful as I load and unload tons of bedding at the laundromat today.

Weldon said they are finally getting the much-needed rain in St. Cloud, FL, and that his grass is now growing as if no drought had occurred at all. Amazing how adaptable plants and animals are. I can't wait to see them Friday! I am pretty much ready for them right now. He said he will set up the water supply and electrical supply (generator and batteries and RV water pump) at the cabin when he gets here, so I guess things will work out fine.

Time to get going here----another busy day for Molly and me with lots of little chores to finish up along with major laundry, doc appointment, and grocery shopping.

Happy Wednesday to all, wherever you may be.

Happy travels!

My daughter son in law and one of my grandsons are getting ready to go to NY... each year many people descend there to have basket ball camps, Bible school, prayer stations, and also helping anyone that needs help... they also get to see sights and go to a broadway show if they want... it is a pay your own way trip... makes me very proud that they give back to others...
It is cool and comfy here this morning... I left the fan in the window and it got the temp down to 70 inside... we will have low 80s today... I will water my two tomato plants and pepper plants and my petunia plant with miracle grow... we have had so much rain I have not watered them in over two weeks...
Coffee is good join us when you can...

Good morning everyone!

It's a sunny morning on the eastern shore of MD and we'll be getting in the 80's today. We had 3/4" of rain last night which we desperately needed. For some reason, my vegetable garden responds so much better to rain water than it does from the daily watering I give it with a hose. Speaking of my garden, I picked my first squash this past weekend. The cucumbers are coming on and the tomato plants look great.

My sister is coming home from the rehab in Baltimore today. I know that after being away for 3 weeks, she is looking forward to coming home.

My father had his ankle operated on Monday and had a steel plate put in place. Today he is having some type of catherization done in preparation for an automatic defribulator that is going to be put in place tomorrow. Mom is struggling with being shuttled back and forth from her house to the hospital and is looking forward to Dad being back home with her. I sure hope things calm down for them soon.

Have a good day everyone!

It's almost dinner time so I missed morning coffee but wanted to say hi while I have an internet connection. Still in NY state at my sister's. Helping her with landscaping on her 26 acres and other sundry work. I will need to leave to get a rest. Internet is sporadic as is cell phone coverage. Rec'd an offer on my home in FL which I accepted. Hope it goes thru without a hitch. May have to head back home to get everything finalized.

Since I missed the GTG in Pa, I am hoping my travels south can take me to Lake in the Woods and meet Beth.

I guess it's good evening. It was cool here in northern NY too....60s and windy most of the day.

Congratulations on the offer/sale of your house, Joan. Hope everything goes through smoothly. Where in NY are you? You may have mentioned, but I don't remember. Nan and I are headed east along Lake Ontario & the St. Lawrence Seaway. Would love to gtg if our paths cross.

Congrats on your house! That's excellent news. And I, too, hope you can get here. Let me know if/when you might be able to come this way.

Beth, I may be in Bethlehem PA over the weekend and headed your way on either Monday or Tuesday, unless I need to get home sooner.

Liz, I am in Hurley NY but leaving Friday or Saturday for Bethlehem PA for the weekend then south. Would have loved to meet up but not happening this trip. I will say that this trip to NY taught me a lot and I know what I didn't need to bring and what I should have brought. It wasn't "real" camping since I am in my sister's driveway but it was probably good not to be alone. I had electrical issues (my lack of knowledge, not anything wrong). My nephew also figured out how I could dump my tanks into their septic system. Still can't get my TV to work but the DVD works just fine as does the radio.

Joan, regarding your TV not working, there is a switch somewhere in your RV that switches your TV from cable to antenna. If your DVD player was factory installed, this switch is probably real close to your DVD player. Check to make sure the switch is set for antenna. When you go to a campground that has cable, the switch has to be set for cable. This may or may not be your problem.

My switch has always been right on the plate where the TV line hooks into the antenna line. You didn't say exactly what you meant by not working so another thought would be that you might have to reprogram the TV channels in a new location. I've had that "duh" moment pointed out to me by my husband in the past when the stations weren't viewable. All in all, sounds like you are having a successful trip. Next time you stop in a park, ask a friendly RVer the TV question. Most of them will happy to take a look.

Irmi and Colleen, I did try a switch near my DVD player but it had no effect on the TV. I also reset the channels to no avail. Even my service guy in FL could not figure it out but I am going to ask someone at a campground because I think it will be one of those "duh" things. Haven't missed the TV that much as I've been so busy with my sister and I can get the news online or on my iphone. Tonight I'm watching the last DVD of Lord of the Rings. Can you believe I never read the books or saw the movie?

If you come here I'll take a look at it for you. I do believe it has something to do with that switch - but we'll make sure. Also - is the cable connected properly to the tv? Hate to mention that - but often it's the most simple things.
