It's Monday again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Monday again

Postby Sojourner » Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:27 am

Good Morning....we'll be in the 100's all week, so it's chilled strawberries, OJ, croissants, and of course, coffee...

My hat is off to you, Sharon, for braving the attractions in Tucson heat! I lived there as a child, and remember it well. I've long wanted to go to the Ostrich Ranch also, but we are always passing it when it's either closed or at a bad point in our itinerary...one of these days!
Irmi, I hope your father is doing better today.

Still in pursuit of downsizing. It started out as "We've got all year"; now it's "We've only got six months!". It's a self-imposed deadline, but it would be a nice one to meet.
I'm a little proud of myself - I went down to the Big City to visit The Container Store this weekend and didn't buy very much though I was sorely tempted. In another time I might have come back with a bunch of solutions to problems I didn't know I had. The idea was to find containers to make everything ship-shape in the RV, but when I got there I realized that it might have been useful to measure where things are intended to go first.

Fair winds to you who are on the road, and mosquito-free evenings to us all!

Just sitting and sipping coffee ... no solid food on the horizon yet.

Yesterday, I rode my bike TWELVE MILES ... which I think is astounding considering I began from a physical standing start only about two weeks ago. I took a long flight of stairs yesterday. Climbing was just fine (I expected that with my added conditioning), but what astounded me was my descent. I just hopped down those stairs like a 30-year-old (okay, maybe 40). Before, it was easing down, a stair at a time, with creaky knees.

I'm so grateful that I have the physical health to begin this conditioning process. Life is good.

good morning ladies, we're having excessive heat warnings for today and tomorrow, up around 115 degrees. It was a busy day at the airport yesterday, seems like it was the day for all the cruise ships to come in. Loaded lots and lots of luggage, ahhhhh, tips were good. Will go to Home Depot this morning to get my gal of paint for my shelf units. Not much else going on, painting is enough :D
Enjoy your day and be safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The sun is shining today, at last, for the first time in a week. As soon as the lawn gets dry enough, my main chore for today is mowing the entire area. It's a perfect day out there! Last night, when the kids got home from Burlington, we built a small fire in the portable fire-cart on the front porch, cooked some chicken, and sat around watching the stars coming out from the fog and mist. We saw what must have been the space station go over----hugely brilliant object in the sky.

Janice, congratulations! I am missing my bike riding that I was doing in FL very much. I left my bike there as it had been years since I had been riding it up here where it's all either uphill for too far, or downhill for too far, and no level areas! I can feel the lack of joint movement coming back!

I like the thought of fair winds and mosquito-free evenings from Sojourner, too! Last night we were bug free, and we all commented on it. Just 3 weeks ago, when I got home from FL, the noseeums at night and the black flies during the days were overwhelming! It is really comfy here now, both days and nights.

I am enjoying having some running warm and cold water in my trailer, now that my leak problem seems to have been solved with the new section of hose and connectors. I am now going to extend some sections of sewer hose away from the trailer and the well and down the hill so that grey water can be handled with ease. With the porta potty in place outside now, for the duration of the summer, I have no need for any black tank stuff. Things are coming together!

Lawn is drying out, and so it's time to get the mower started. Hope you all have a good Monday.

Happy travels!

Soos, there is a cap for RV sewer connections that you can attach a garden hose to. Would probably be cheaper to run several hoses away from the trailer for gray water than sewer pipe. If I was as handy as Mitch I could find you a link but I'm not.

Janice, if you are riding on roads be careful. I wouldn't dare try to ride a bike on our main road. My DH swears by his Schwinn Airdyne exercise bicycle. He is back to riding it after his knee surgery. I never have ridden it enough to get over the seat pain.

I went fishing at the pond yesterday afternoon and was there until 8:30. I was surprised there weren't any mosquitoes. When I turned the light on the carport I was swarmed by what we call June Bugs. I had never thought about what they eat so looked them up. They lay eggs in the ground and the grubs eat grass roots. My fishing license will expire on Thursday so better get one today because there will be a rush at the end of the week and the computers will be slow and it will take forever.

Morning all! I'm all packed to go camping in the mountains.
Only two nights. Sites around the lake are hard to come by
this time of year. :). No cell service. Be back Wed evening.
Have a fun week!

I've been on those shuttle buses before and the driver always loads the luggage. :(
