Finally Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Finally Friday

Postby HorizonSeeker » Fri Jun 24, 2011 6:47 am

After a long week of packing, preparing, and taking my meds, it finally Friday. I have a 9am dr. appt so he can listen to my lungs (which I know are much better) and release me to hit the road in Seeker. I have the itch really bad. Next stop Bardstown, KY and the Bourbon Trail.

Sorry girls, no breakfast. I have to fast for a blood draw.

G'morning all. Just a quick check-in here from NC. We arrived late last evening. Long day. Too long. Told GD we are going to slow down after this. But I wanted to get here so I can visit with my Aunt...the last living of my dad's siblings. We'll stay here for a few days and then we're off!

So, on the trip down, other than having a bugger of a time finding a decent (as in easy) truck stop for diesel, we did okay. (There is never one convenient when I happen to need fuel). Or so I thought. Towed my jeep and for some reason (duh?) ended up with a dead battery. Not sure why but I turned the headlights on. NO NO NO. Don't do that Paulette! So, Hopefully my little battery/compressor/emergency light thingy will enable me to jump start the jeep this morning! Ah, the lessons we learn...

BTW, Lori (RVGrammy) posted on FB that she has a lousy connection so hasn't been able to get on...but she's thinking of us all the time! Lori, when you do read this, you need to get some sort of booster antenna for the campground that will boost whatever signal there is down in the holler there! Maybe contact the cell companies and suggest a tower nearby? I'd go nuts for a long period of time because I must admit I'm a techno-junkie! Don't know what I'd do without my connection!

Hope everyone has a good day. Supposed to be hot and steamy here in NC today, low 90's. Thank heavens for 50 amp service and 2 AC's! Bailey and Elvis will appreciate it a lot!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Sounds as if Horizon Seeker and Paulette are having a fine time either on the road, or getting ready to haul out! Happy to hear you are feeling better, Horizon!

I'm off to ask a local car repair man, whose number or place of business isn't in the phone book yet, I guess, or else I am too stupid to be able to find it, if he thinks he might be able to free up the engine or cylinders in the Suzuki Sidekick for the 4th of July. It will mean his coming to pick it up, or me having it hauled there for him to look at it, if he agrees to check it out. He was one of my students from Kindergarten on----in my son's classes all through school, and Weldon was the one who suggested I go ask him about the Kicker.

I also have to take back the hose piece for my trailer, as it still leaks around the screw-on connectors, so I will ask them to order a new piece with two new connectors. If it wasn't so short already, I think I could just have him cut off the ends and put on new connectors, but I think it could be a bit longer rather any shorter.

Hope you all have a happy day whatever you are up to!

finally Friday indeed. Good morning ladies, its been a long few days being off, didn't get much done as son was off too. But its back to work for both of us today :D
The weather has been really hot, 110 or so, and supposed to be 109 today. Not a problem as long as I stay in the air conditioning.
Time for another cup of coffee. Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good Morning,
Ava I'll take that 109 weather, we are in the low 60's and non stop rain here in Fall City WA. We're all tired of being cooped up in the RV!!! Dan and I both said we left Yuma too soon again. Came up to the Northwest to crappy cold weather...Bah Humbug!!!!
Glad I have a pot of good tasting coffee to jump start warming me up. Need to make some muffins! :D

Thanks Linda, I found a gal in Los Algodones Mexico that cuts my hair for $7 but I always give her a $5 tip still only $12 total and Norma does a great job when I am home in Yuma and cross the border only 20 miles away. I bought the dress in Mexico too. Went to a party there and was cold in the morning but by the afternoon it was hot so I bought a cotton dress and stripped down to be cooler.
Crossing my fingers I find someone that will cut it the same way this Summer. I took photo's when I had it cut, so will print it off so the next gal knows how to cut it. :)

Jenny, now you know how easy it was for me to pack on these extra lbs!! All you feel like doing is sitting and eating comfort food.
Alas on this side of the state we are getting perfect weather. I am camping and not having to run the furnace nor the AC.
Oh, GD wants me. Time for another walk and Im sure a campfire for smores!

Good morning
Jenny, I too love your new photo

So much excitement with many on the road or about to leave. Please, please post pixs for those of us stuck at home.

It has been a busy and at times, unusually productive week around here. Made a dent in some much needed housekeeping and bookkeeping - two of my least favorite chores.

More severe storms on Tue. and Wed. - more high winds, hail, downed trees and power outages with every storm. Got a break from the bad weather yesterday but does not look good for the weekend. In fact we just went back under another severe thunderstorm warning a few minutes ago.

New microwave arrived late Monday. Sure is a comfort to have it back.

I need to go file a police report but have not decided if I want to go out today. Really just do not want to deal with it. Someone broke into one of my locked showcases at antique mall and got away with a lot of antique sterling silver. The financial loss is devastating enough but it breaks my heart to think it is being melted down just for the cost of silver. These pieces were mostly from the Victorian Era (mid to late 1800s) and represent a level of superior craftsmanship that can no longer be duplicated. Sad that future generations will not have such lovely items to cherish.

Sister has had a reasonably decent week given her health problems. She and niece will be moving back in with me next week at least for a few days, as she has several appointments including tests a nearby hospital (Upper GI series). Much simpler with her here in town.

Wishing all some great weather for your travel adventures.

Yeah I SHOULD be walking around the park and get my exercise, pool has always been too cold here for swimming. Next campground has warmer pools and the hottub is outside so I can breathe so looking forward to that. Hope the rain stops and stays away soon I'm getting antsy!!

Well, it doesn't look like Seattle or Tacoma for us. We just arrived at Mt. Rainier and are staying for around 4 days. Hopefully, the weather will allow hiking without getting wet :D I haven't seen the whole route yet, but am thinking tGM wants to head toward Olympia. Jenny, love the new "do" and avatar. This year's weather on the coast has definitely been on the wetter side than the last time we were here. That's it for now. carold

Oh Sarah----what a shame! I, too, have some wonderful 1800s silverware, and it would kill me to have it stolen and melted down. I sure hope you can find the thieves and slam them with jail time. As you say, if they have already melted the stuff, there will be no getting it back, and no way to ever have such beautiful craftsmanship again. You have certainly had one whirlwind of a spring, eh? All that dangerous weather would be making a maniac out of me----more so than usual, that is!

I had no internet connection yesterday until sometime after noon when Verizon found the problem and fixed it. Hate being cut off like that!
