Sandhill Cranes. If I was sitting on one of those nearby rounds..they would tower over me by a foot, or so.

I fell in love with watching the sandhill cranes this past winter. Was lucky to have a pair on a nest at one place. Almost considered staying for the birth - would have been neat. But at the time, had places and commitments. And while I liked the cranes and some of the other scenery I could get to, wasn't a place I wanted to spend longer at than I was. Unfortunately. When you find places like you have that you love, yep, no reason not to sit and stay a spell... It's wonderful that you've learned that so quickly.
