HAPPY SUMMER!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HAPPY SUMMER!

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Jun 21, 2011 6:25 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

At one something this afternoon, summer will be officially here! I have always thought it was such a gyp that, just when it's beginning to get warmer and sort of hot and when the daylight is at its longest, suddenly we begin the long trek toward the shortest day of the year in December. It takes our earth climate a while to catch up with the length of the days. I guess this is a good thing, but I so love the daylight.

I dropped my little piece of hose with the two connectors at the RV dealer's here in town yesterday, to see if there is anything he can do to replace the washers or perhaps the entire screw-ons so that it won't leak when I put it back in here in the trailer. I also bought two slabs of plywood to make a pad for the old trailer which I will try to move to its summer position today. If it works for that, I will get two more for this trailer so I have an easier time of parking it when I get home after a camping trip.

Next on the list is getting the party barn ready for company, followed by tackling the other bedroom upstairs so that can be ready to sleep someone over the fourth celebration.

I also picked up my new prescription drug dosage for my high blood pressure yesterday, but am afraid to take it for the first time until the kids get back here, in case it makes me feel faint or sick, or whatever. I always hate to try new chemicals in my body. My body is used to high blood pressure, and the doubling up of the dose to get the pressure down might be a complete shock for it. I am quite sure I was born with high blood pressure. :) But I do want to live for at least another 40 years, or so!

Hope your weather is as pleasant as it is up here in the mountains this morning. This morning's temperature is 50, compared to the 38 it got down to at about 5:00 am yesterday. By 8:00 yesterday, the temperature was back up to a beautiful 60 degrees, or so, and became a nice, warm, sunny day. Cool nights and warm days suit me just fine! The black flies have already mostly gone, although the pesky deer flies are still voracious! The noseeums don't like the cool nights, and so they don't bother much, either.

Lenora, I hope your dizziness gets over with soon----I, too, suffer from that, and it's very dibilitating. It can cause a panic attack in me sometimes, which just exacerbates the whole thing. Thinking of the guy with the liver spot, too, and sending good wishes his way.

Glad I don't have to deal with AC problems here in the mountains, but am sure hoping my FL AC holds out for at least one more year as the temps down there have been record-breakingly high since I left. That unit is over 30 years old, and was working like a champ when I left.

Housework/destuffing/organizing/cleaning and all that stuff makes me extremely allergic, too! ACK! But that's where I am headed for another couple of weeks here!

Happy first day of summer to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Summer at last! Should be a good morning for a paddle in the kayak altho some pop up showers are due here in the afternoon. Washed Seeker yesterday including the roof. OK I now know that it's probably worth paying someone to do that, but I wanted to say I had done it once. Took my last dose of bronchitis meds yesterday and hope that means I will start eating less. Been eating way too much while taking those steroids.

Have a beautiful solstice!

And Happy Summer to you too! I've been a bit cranky since I got back from my trip yesterday. Then I realized that I didn't want to be home. I wanted to be back in my rv, traveling around and looking for interesting places. I felt a little better when I pulled out the map to plan my next trip. :D

Very wise about the medication, Soos. I do the same thing, waiting until someone else is around in case there are side effects.

Well, I'm off to do my 20 loads of laundry. Although, everytime I get home from a trip I realize how much of this stuff I can do without. Maybe it's time for a trip to Goodwill...

Good morning ladies!

It's a little overcast this morning and we had some showers again over night. I haven't had to water our vegetable garden since we've been home from PA. In fact, our garden looks quite nice and I'm hoping to start picking squash perhaps later this week or the beginning of next week.

I'm back to work after being off for a week and now I'm playing catch up. We'll be taking off next month for another week. This weekend is our family reunion. Depending on whether or not my sister is discharged from the rehab center from her ankle surgery will be the deciding factor as to what I will be doing. If she is going to be kept there for another week, I don't want her to be there alone while everyone else is out having a good time.

Enjoy the first day of summer everyone!

Happy Summer Soos and all! This is my favorite day of the year too!!! But rats, I am celebrating with a root canal. That sure was bad planning on my part. :( Considering how I might be feeling when it's over, maybe I can still head for the mountains at least for the long evening. :)

In other more important news, my SIL is still in intensive care following cancer surgery last Friday. We are all very concerned for her. The hospital is 2 1/2 hrs drive from here so I haven't gone down yet, planning on tomorrow if she is in her regular room. Thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated. D is only 58, this is the 3rd surgery in less than 2 years. It turns out my brother is a very excellent care giver. He has been amazing through this whole ordeal. But still, so hard on whole family.

Weather people are forecasting well over 100* for today and tomorrow. (umm, might be our first triple digit of the year)
Anyway, seems fitting for the first day of summer!

Not so much else going on here, mostly continuing with outside chores. Almost finished. I wait til the dust has settled so to speak, and then wash the windows. After that it's just fun for another season.

Thinking about Carolyn and family. ((((hugs))))

Hey Kathleen, you posted while I typed, glad you are feeling better.

Take care travel pals, talk to you soon!

Good Morning !! Late getting my day going this morning, finally slept almost 8 hrs. The nice walk yesterday morning, ending the day with mowing, did it I think. After catching up this morning with yesterdays morning greetings, I find I REALLY am in the Right group here. "Allergic to Housework" is written across my forehead, none of you ever noticed? :o   So, what is on my agenda this morning? washing shelves, drawers etc. to frig in cabin and more cleaning down there. I'm sure to be all broken out in hives before this day is over.  Maggie and I, will be leaving for our walk early morn., tomorrow , and we will not be hurrying back :o In other words, doubt there will be any thing in the way of housework done tomorrow.

Kathleen, and Diana, both posted as I did, I think. Seems so many on here have had illness, them or their families, (((((((((HUGS)))))))))) to you all, and Prayers for good health to be restored very soon. Carolyn, a special ((((((((((hug))))))))))) for you.

Happy First Day of Summer everyone, Have a Great day and do something really nice (fun) for yourself.

Good Morning everyone,

Happy First Day of Summer to you all. Boy, am I behind on here. See some have been sick of family members having illnesses etc. Thoughts, prayers and (((((HUGS)))))) going out to all. I've got some catching up to do.

Things at work are going along fine. Campground is starting to get busier now that schools are out, graduation parties are winding down etc... Camping trip on the agenda for me this next week, Sunday and Monday nights. Just going over to Otsego where i work for a couple of nights. It's so nice in that park in the evenings and early mornings. Will be close to home so can do some things here if I want to. Grass will need cutting again, but with rainy forecast thruough Friday, probably won't get done till weekend or maybe one of those camping days. Also made reservations for Aloha State Park again, for the Sunday and Monday nights after the 4th. Parks are all full up around here for the 4th. I am staying home.

Dentist appot. this afternoon. Got to get another crown put in  Not happy about that. Got to fork out some big bucks for that since I don't have dental insurance. Nuts. There goes at least the equivilant of 4 months worth of truck payments.
Oh well, it's the price we have to pay to keep our teeth.

Otherwise pretty much same old around here. Enjoying June's weather and like Soos said, it's all downhill from here. Days will gradually start getting shorter. I don't even want to think about winter yet.

Morning from the sunny, bird singing PNW! Wow, we sure deserve this after the wet, cold Spring we've had! Summer is starting out swell....so far. :)

I'm feeling so much better today. Thanks for those prayers. God answered! My SIL's Dr appt yesterday ended up being just a 'consultation' with the specialist who told my SIL he didn't think it was anything to worry about, BUT he did order a MRI. Not sure when that will happen.

Today is the last day of school for my 2 GDs. With the weather so nice I'm thinking to get Little Missy out of storage and shake the cobwebs off her. Hope she starts. It's been 3 months since I've visited her. :o

Kathleen, did I miss a post. I knew you were on antibiotics but didn't know it was for a bug bite. Glad you are finished with the meds and are on the mend.

Diana/Sue, I'm no stranger to my dentist. I know all the staff's first names! I agree on the cost of dental work !! Just over a year ago I had dropped my dental insurance to save $$ and within a month I needed a crown. So now I have coverage (started Jan 1st), but found out on my last visit that Blue Cross/Blue Shield has a grace period of 6 mons. before they will pay for a cleaning, and 1 yr grace for fillings, crowns etc. WHAT!?!? So I'm paying a whole year of premiums for zilch!? I am so fed up with health insurance companies!!! They have us over a barrel! I believe in preventive health care and chose not to wait until I have a problem, but insurance companies don't like that.

Soos, hope your new meds do the trick. Your Dr appt so soon after returning home may have shown up with high reading from the stress. Stress can cause a myriad of health issues. Perhaps after being home for a bit will calm everything down. Especially the BP.

Hugs to Carolyn. The obituary was written beautifully. Your Dad was well loved.
Diana, will keep your SIL/family in my prayers, too.

Well, need to get off this thing and start my day. Grass needs mowed, too!
Hugs and blessings!

Lenora, I may be wrong, but I think it was Nan that was feeling bad because of a bug bite.

Looks like they both were down for a while, but I did have their problems confused. Needless to say, I was thinking of you both. :D
