Mini-gtg - Depoe Bay, OR

Let's get together!

Mini-gtg - Depoe Bay, OR

Carold and I had lunch today! We got together a couple of years ago when she and Bob were in the area so I was thrilled when she called and said they would be close by on the weekend when I was able to get away for a few hours. It was raining (big surprise...this IS Oregon after all) but we made the best of it. We went to my favorite restaurant called the Sea Hag and had fresh, local oysters and fries. A perfect meal for a rainy day at the coast. I know everyone here likes pictures so here are a few from our visit.

After lunch and a little window shopping, we headed back to Carol's mh and visited a little longer.

As you can see, we had a great time!

Here's one more picture

It was so nice to get together with Carol again and I hope we can do it again soon. I also want to thank them for the fabulous fresh fish the gave me. I am sure I will enjoy it!

It was great getting together again with Laura. As you can see, we laugh a lot (don't ask me about what  ), talk a lot and enjoy good food. She always manages to show up right after tGM has been fishing  and goes home with a few meals. We also wandered thru the shops @ Depoe Bay, but kept our wallets secured and locked; not the kind of tourists the shops want to see. Hopefully, we'll see each other down the road. carold

Those spontaneous mini-gtgs are the best kind! Glad your paths intersected and thanks for sharing the fun with us. Those oysters look yummy.

Lobster nite and crab nite on the cruise Tina!!! Are you up for a little competition on who can eat the most? Last cruise I lost on lobster nite but won on crab nite! Unfortunately I never saw a fried oyster the whole trip. :( When we were waiting for the weather to clear in Blaine, Wa so we could head north to Alaska there was a storm, so we headed over to the beach to see what had washed ashore...Lo and Behold...oysters everywhere! Of course it's against the law to get them there w/o a license, but gee, how could I resist? Needless to say, I had fried oysters for dinner that nite. Sister politely declined (as in "oh, he%% no!!!) so I got to eat them all!!

Ava, I'm one of those that "if it came from water, I'll eat it!" There's not to much I turn down, altho there's some sushi that I've by passed.

I'm glad you two got a chance to GTG again and catch up with what's been going on since last time.

Sharon and Tina...you two DO realize that you'll be on a ship and it caries it's on supplies,
should someone call ahead and warn them to bring extra???

What a neat GTG, with food right up my alley!

I love to meet with small groups like that, as then I can usually remember everybody's name and actually sit long enough to get to really know them!

Thanks for sharing with us all!
