CALM, WARM SATURDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

CALM, WARM SATURDAY MORNING

Postby Nasoosie » Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:44 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I worked on the cabin at the pond nearly all afternoon yesterday, vacuuming up mice bodies, mouse poops, throwing out mouse poison bait traps, dusting everything off, cleaning every inch of the bathroom, including the skylight in there, and trying to get the toilet to flush using buckets of pond water. Unfortunately, the sewer pipe down there seems to be blocked, as I couldnt get the water to go down the toilet drain---in fact, it came out onto the floor, not sure just from where. Hoping not from the beeswax seal. So, will have to let Wiley know that some work needs to be done down there before Mandy and Joe can move in. I was wishing for a plunger, but couldn't find one. I'll bring one down today and try again. I did, however, spend about a half hour fishing tadpoles out of the toilet and the tank that I had inadvertently scooped up from the pond! Little scurriers caused me to lose valuable cleaning time!

A long-time friend of mine from over the mountain will come and spend the night with me here in the trailer tonight, and her daughter, a lifetime friend of my daughter's, will come with her for the evening. We plan to sit around a campfire and get caught up with each others' lives. Kathy, my friend, will retire in 11 months, and so might be able to come with me next fall (2012) to spend the winter in FL with me. That would be wonderful! Then I would also have someone to go camping with while down there----exploring all the myriads of neat campgrounds that FL has to offer.

Kids are still asleep, but, when they wake up, I will take on the task of moving my old trailer out of the storage garage to its summer place here in the yard. Then I will tackle the leaking problem in this trailer at the shore-hose connection under the bathroom sink. It would be really handy to have water in here for washing both dishes and bodies. The grey water could just be let loose into the yard, downhill of the well. We shall see if I can fix that, or if I need to take it to the RV dealers'.

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday----I haven't looked at the radar yet, so don't know what the predictions are. So far, it's warm and partly sunny----I like that!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

God bless you, Soos, you are one busy woman! Ive missed you here as you didn't post near as much while you were wintering in Florida!

I'm still waiting on the call from freight liner that I can go pick up my rv. They have had it for almost 3 weeks now, but didn't start working on it till Wednesday. I know because they called me to find out if I knew where the tow driver had put the drive shaft. after I provided them with that information, I had hoped to receive a call late Wednesday that I could go get it Thursday morning. But, no call. Then, Thursday after lunch I received another call from them to ask me if I wanted them to just replace the gasket around the hub or did I want them to inspect the bearings. Well, duh! I think a bearing inspection is in order and will maybe help me to feel a bit safer. Of course it costs a bundle more, but wth!

By the way, the service manager or service writer or whatever his title is, is very condescending and was talking to me like I am some kind of 16 year old idiot! However, I think he could tell by the tone in my responses that I didn't appreciate his tone at all. I may have to "introduce" myself to him when I go pick up my rig, if that ever happens!

I got another call Friday morning that the bearing issue had been resolved, but to inform me that my check engine light and abs light were on and to ask if I wanted them to run a diagnostic on it. Well, duh! Actually, the check engine light has been on since the very first time that the coach batteries died, and the abs light was part of this recent problem. I did recently have one of the abs (anti locking brake system) sensors replaced just recently. Anyway, here it is Saturday morning and I'm guessing that I'll maybe get a call from them on Monday that I can come pick it up!

I'm not pleased with freight liner of Baltimore at all. Or maybe I should say not impressed. When the service guy told me that "the drive shaft is that rod that goes between the front and rear of your vehicle to make the wheels turn" I wanted to reach through the phone and choke the b*^%#}^!!!

I'm hoping to be on the road next week to take the gd to spend the summer with her dad in Houston. I'm taking the title along with me. Maybe they have some good rv deals in the Houston area!

Paulette, I can see a Texas Womens RV GTG in Houston to meet you coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about Galveston Island State park for meeting up? Or maybe up into The Woodlands? We gotta do it.

Start checking with PPL in Houston (Katy) and keep an eye out as they usually do very good business. But then if you go thru Red Bay, AL you might want to look at the Allergro factory as they make a might fine rig too. Sounds like the place doing your work doesn't want to work for you in the future....wouldn't you say?

Here in Oklahoma City for a few more days and it is going to be another record breaker probably. Was about 105 yesterday here and 115 in SW OK. Sun is greeting us nicely this a.m. and it is already 93* out there at 8:28. I am headed for the Ok St Un Ext Farmers market here in a few minutes. Looking for fresh veggies.

Hope all of you ladies on the road are safe during your travels. Stay cool everyone and of course have fun.

Good Moring Ladies! I haven't been on a Morning Coffee in a long time, so I thought I'd post today. Not much going on here in Central VA. Working way too hard--guess I'm not going to be able to cycle back on work until I get much closer to December. On 1 July, I'll be submitting the retirement package! I am so ready. :D :D

Soos, I sure hope you were wearing a face mask as you were removing all those little mouses and their poop. I don't know about where you are, but we had a lot of people who got real sick from hantavirus in CA a few years ago. It came frm the mouse droppings. Also please be sure you seal and dispose of the vacuum bags you used. It is a scary disease!

Paulette, I'm sorry to hear that you're having such issues with Freightliner. I remember the days when service managers used to talk to all women like they couldn't possibly know about anything mechanical. This guy must be from those days. I have actually said to some of these Neanderthals, "please don't talk to me like I don't understand my vehicle--because I do know a lot more than you're giving me credit for knowing!" :o   I hope everything gets fixed soonest and you get your rig back ASAP!

Today, I am doing laundry, watching the Casey Anthony trial, and doing some other housework (aargh)! Try as i might, the cats just aren't going to do the dusting and vacuuming. :o

Sure hope all of you are doing well! Have a great weekend, Ladies!

Good Morning

Soos - Please send some of that energy and ambition this way!!! I sure could use it.

Paulette - Did your new RV GPS arrive yet?

After 21 days of 90+ temps and no rain, we got a brief break yesterday. Got a couple of thunderstorms and a good rain. Temps heading back toward 100 for weekend and coming week but it was a relief to get even the one day. There is a real shortage of local fresh veggies at farmers market due to heat and dry conditions.

My microwave went belly up 9 day ago. Didn't realize how dependent I've become on having one and it did not take long to decide it is not one of those things I'm willing to live without. Finally had time to go to Lowe's Thursday for a new one; it is to be installed Monday (over the rage type).

Wishing all a good day.

Good morning from the shores of the Susquehanna River. It is a comfortable 72 degrees with a slight breeze. Nan is "under the weather," so we decided to stop for the weekend so she can rest up and try to shake it off.

Our cg is at the confluence of the Juniata and Susquehanna Rivers. Yesterday afternoon I took the kayak out a little ways upstream on the Juniata (less current) and then drifted back to the cg. Plan to go out a little farther up the river today and maybe take Roe with me.

Paulette, I hope you get your RV back Monday so you can get on the road. I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip, your RV shopping, and the Texas GTG that is sure to happen.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Wheee, a gtg! Hadn't even thought about that! I'm game!

Thanks for the heads up on PPL, I'll give them a look-see! As far as tiffin, that is exactly what I have now, but I think it was born on Lemon Day! I've had all sorts of issues with this unit. It's a very nice rig, don't get me wrong. Plush. But not very enjoyable when you constantly have to deal with gremlins of all shapes and sizes! And this last one could have catastrophic, and that scares me as I travel mostly with my gd.

Sarah, check out the gps thread...I posted there about the new gps.

Good morning from the Left Coast!

Well, it's my first day of summer vacation. :) I can safely say that nobody got killed this year and I still have a job next year. May not have any supplies, thanks to the sorry state of California's budget, but teachers somehow figure out a way to manage. Just think "LIttle School on the Prairie" mentality and you'll have a fair idea of how delightful it is to teach in the 21st century right now.

But it's behind me until September, so I'm going to the beach today. And it's not going to be a sunny day. :) We've been under "June Gloom" for the past 2-3 weeks, with skies not clearing (if at all) until late afternoon. Keeps our temps down which is lovely, since once it heats up it won't cool off until late October.

I had neighbors who thought sitting in their backyard & solving the world's problems until after 2:30 was a good activity, so I called the cops when I heard the TV blaring. Makes me crazy-mad when people don't think about how easily sound carries in these townhouses. It's like an echo chamber, and it's rare that someone does something so stupid. Quiet time is 10:00 so I don't think I was being unreasonable wanting them to be quiet.

So on that happy note I'm going to take a long shower, find my Keen shoes to walk on the beach, and get some coffee for the drive down there. I'm sure that my attitude will be much sunnier than the weather once I get going. I love the beach, and the people I'm going with are lots of fun. And I can always come home and take a nap since I'm on vacation. :)

Hope everyone's day is good, not too hot, and relaxing.

good morning everybody
I'm doing nothing extra today, just routine stuff like gas up the car and run to the bank, a few miner house chores and
then get ready for work. They might call me to come in early like they did yesterday. I'll be ready. Got my paycheck
yesterday that covered all those extra hours I put in, sure made me smile :D The next one will have extra hours on it too.
We are officially into our monsoon season, however, there are no storms in sight just yet. Some rain would be great to
help put out the fires burning up in the mountains, but of course that means the rain must be UP THERE, not down
here in the city.
I better quit messing around on the computer and get dressed, I like to gas up the car early. Enjoy your day be safe.

Laura - Enjoy your summer vacation. Where are you heading out to this year?

Paulette - I have not heard many complaints on Tiffin coaches. They sure are pretty. I bought my 2007 Holiday Rambler Neptune (diesel) 35' new and had issues for a couple of years. Most were just nuisance things but the bigger items were mostly covered on warranty and extended warranty thank goodness. It still took time to wait for repairs to be completed. Maybe it's better to buy used????

Take care everyone and enjoy the weekend!

Well, today turned out to be soooo much nicer than the weather report forecasted! It was sunny, warm, with just enough breeze to make it absolutely perfect at the beach. We had a lovely walk along the surf, stopping to look at the tidepools at Crystal Cove (even though it was high tide). And then my friends & I went up the coast to Huntington Beach to one of their favorite Mexican food restaurants for lunch. Couldn't have been a better day. :) And coming home we found the weather all cleared here, too. Hope tomorrow's as nice, as I'm meeting a friend for a late lunch/early dinner.

Linda, I'll be up your way in August, staying at Pismo Coast RV. Maybe we ought to get together. If you'll be around the first week in August let me know. Jed & I would love to meet you!

Laura - As it stands right now, I should be here the first part of Aug. Are you staying at Pismo Coast Village? May be going to an FMCA rally at Wine Counry RV in Paso Robles 8/5 - 8/7). Are you heading up to the Women RV gathering in Oregon a couple weeks later in August?

Keep me posted.
