well ambassador baptist college is very strict, which i actually like. for instance, even at home, i would not be allowed to spend the night in the same house as my boyfriend. stuff like that. not to mention hmmm about 60 credit hours of Bible classes to graduate, chapel services almost every day, and being required to be involved in one of the independent baptist churches in the area. what i dont like is the lack of freedom with cooking. we are allowed to bring with us a coffepot or electric kettle and a dorm fridge; a microwave will be available somewhere in the dorm house. i'm gluten intolerant, so i'd like to have more freedom when it came to fixing my meals. i dont want to rely on the kitchen staff to know what is and what isnt gluten free. heehee it'd also be nice to have a furry feline friend to keep me company :D

regardless of what i want for a college experience, i'll have to live in the dorm the first semester. i mentioned the rule about living in the dorm the first semester if the student is under 23. so i may change my mind later.

i still like the idea of living small, and not being tied down to one place. so even if i dont decide to live in an RV during college, it's very possible that i'd want to do that after college.

You are right. The food restrictions will be easier to follow on our own because you are already trained and used to it. I also agree that living with an animal makes life better :)

well i'm feeling much less "lost" when it comes to navigating the sea of RV possibilities. i find that i like older models better, for the inside. outside looks arent that important to me. i just like the way the interior is laid out in models from the 60s-80s. they're more like a "house" and not so much like mass-produced space-saver motorhomes. after all, many items currently marketed to those living in small appartments or college dorms would work very nicely in an RV.

dont get me wrong, i like the idea of space saving and cramming in extra storage, i just dont like some ways that rv's do it. sometimes i just think i can do a better job of organizing the interior myself, just give me an rv with a "decent-for-an-RV" bathroom; sink, oven, range and a smidgen of countertop space in the kitchen; other necessary outlets and hookups; and i can make the rest more than livable.

i was browsing the "college dorm" section on walmart.com, looking at the small fridges. found that i like 3.3 cubic foot at least for the fridge. oh i didnt like the idea of having a dishwasher in an rv--wouldnt it use up too much water? and why in the world would a single girl need an entire dishwasher? then i saw a couple countertop dishwashers online at walmart, they're supposed to wash four full place settings, take up the space of a microwave, and connect to the kitchen tap.

so just cool things. i enjoyed "shopping" for my non-existent rv :)

as for changing an already existing and useable interior, my daddy is a handyman. and my mother was a seamstress and i know my way around a sewing machine too :) i'm also a firm believer in the power of duct tape

I'm late, but want to welcome you to the forum....a great place to ask and get answers to your questions about living in an RV. Best wishes as you choose the housing that suits you best, and as you pursue your missionary career.
