Suddenly Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Suddenly Sunday

Postby HorizonSeeker » Sun Jun 12, 2011 7:01 am

Guess I'm first up to the coffee bar today so even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I'll start a pot for those that follow. Put some cinamon rolls in the oven too.

It's a little cooler here today which is a blessing. My yard is getting crunching already which usually doesn't happen until late July.

My coughing is a little better. Hopefully it's going away. I don't know where the first week went but I'm supposed to be packed and at the airport on Friday morning early to leave for Europe with a school group. Have to be able to breath good for that.

Take care all and stay cool!

Good morning to all. Looks like today will be a better day than yesterday. For one thing it is going to be much cooler and less humid. And both The Driver and I are in much better moods. Yesterday for some reason found us both in "down" moods. He continues to progress - but not nearly fast enough for him - so he gets upset when he tires so easily. And I'm just not cut out to be a nurse. But we both got good nights sleep last night and the cooler air is refreshing. This morning he went upstairs (to his bathroom) and even got dressed in regular clothes! And I actually fixed a real breakfast! His best friend is coming up to visit this afternoon - and I have a race to watch. What could be better.
Thanks everyone for their encouragement through all of this.

GOOD MORNING FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY!

I sure hope your cough gets better fast, Horizon, so you can go to Europe feeling good. I know how exhausting it is to cough your guts out all the time.

Glad to hear that Carol and the Driver are gradually recovering and getting back to more normal.

Slept fitfully last night due to showers and thunderstorms that accompanied a warm front....nice out there right now, but overcast and very damp. More showers predicted for the day, so a good day to go back to Advance Auto to return that expensive battery I bought yesterday and exchange it for two less expensive deep cycle batteries. That way, I can keep one on a charger up here at the house, and use one in the leanto to power my TV.

I hope you all will have a decent Sunday doing something fun for yourselves!

Happy travels!

What is is with everyone having cinnamon and pecan rolls for breakfast this week? I'm obviously doing breakfast all wrong. Coffee and oatmeal. No wonder I'm grumpy...

I'll be spending the day doing homework, housework, and getting ready to head down to Durango. And, of course, buying the fixin's for cinnamon rolls.... ;)

The cinnamon rolls sound wonderful but right now I am full of biscuits and gravy. Yes every now and then I have to have them guess it's in my genes. I also have fresh green beans, new potatoes and small vadalia onions all from the farmers market to fix for dinner, along with fresh blueberries for dessert yum!!

Have a good day all get well soon HorizonSeeker, Carol good to hear you and The Driver are having a good day, may they continue! Soos, sorry you didn't make it to the GTG. Amy hope your grumpies go away.

It's cool and cloudy here my kind of day.

Good morning ladies
not quite awake yet but the phone rang and I answered it. The parking lot wants me to come in early as someone from the morning
shift did not show up. Lots of extra hours today and Sundays are always busy, a very good tip day. :D Will go in at 11, scheduled to
work until 9:30 . Another extra shift tomorrow and then 3 days off. Its nice to feel appreciated.
I've been following our local fire reports on the Walllow fire, the burned acreage is up to 460,000 something and its spreading into
New Mexico. The smoke, smell and ash are spread as far as Santa Fe NM now. Sent my extra dog kennel (old one) and dog beds and
blankets up to the Round Valley Animal Rescue as they are housing peoples pets. People won't be able to go home just yet as the
smoke is still too intense up there.
Carol, glad you and driver are have better days
Soos, I'm sure it feels good to be home
Horizonseeker, get well soon so you can enjoy your trip to Europe.
Time for more coffee and get some chores started. Need to think about getting to the store but I'm not awake enough for that
type of thinking. Ya'll have a great day, have fun at the gtg and post pictures soon.

Good Morning

Starting day 16 of this terrible heat and no rain. Will be a few degrees cooler today but still well above 90. It has even resulted in an unusually poor showing at the local Farmers Market. The only ones with produce are those who are watering their gardens.

My sister has become very unstable again, getting too much for niece to handle alone by midweek. Moved the two of them in with me on Thursday; would have done that sooner but sister has fought leaving her house.

Seems to be the month for stuff to break around here. The microwave died Thursday night in the middle of making dinner. Printer went belly up and TV is near same.

Finally heard from insurance company ref tornado damage in April. I do need new roof due to hail damage. They estimate the cost to replace it at about $8000.00 and after my deductible and depreciation insurance will pay roughly half. It is also covering a couple hundred dollars of the food loss due to week long power outage (didn't even know I had coverage for that). Still no answer on coverage for removing remainder of tree hit by lightening and a couple of other issues. So many people lost everything, I still feel very fortunate that nothing worse happened at my house.

Carol: I'm so glad you and Bill are doing well.
Sorry about that nasty cold, Horizon. Hope you chase it off quickly.
Stay safe on the roads. Those of you heading to PA gtg, don't forget - we need lots of pix!

Europe! How cool is that? Hope you feel better and have a great trip, Horizon.

Glad to hear the Driver is moving forward; sounds like you have a nice day planned.

Even here in Texas we've seen smoke from the AZ fire...such a shame. Such a pretty part of the country.

We continue to roast, and the forecast for the next 10 days is unrelenting toastiness. :o We usually don't have this much heat until late summer, and these temps would be a hot summer at that. Brings the phrase "I've gone through Hell and half of Texas" to mind. I have no idea how this place was settled originally!

The big project right now is clearing out the clutter so that we're lean and mean when we're ready to hit the road. Fortunately, most of the clutter is inside where the A/C is.
Except for (deep breath) THE GARAGE. No, don't open that door!

Hopefully, you'll be up to par for your trip! That would suck to not feel well on a trip like that!
How long will you be gone? Gus and The Goddess going to keep each other company?
Have a great time. I love England!
