Friday the 10th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday the 10th

Good Morning, coffee's on...though some of you who are in the South may want ice in yours...
The good news is that the humidity seems to be under control more or less, but the temperatures! And this early in the summer! It does not bode well.
No news to report, just antsier every day for retirement. Reading and enjoying everyone else's travels will keep me sane until we can go out again ourselves.

Good morning Megan, Lori & everyone!

We had one heck of a thunderstorm last night and we got an inch of rain with it. We really needed the rain and we have a chance of showers today and tomorrow. Our garden needs it.

Today is the last day of the work week for me and I'll be joining Lori and the others at the GTG in PA. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good Morning All - every day The Driver gets a little bit better and can do more. Yesterday was one week since surgery and he climbed the stairs to the upper floor. Went on his computer up there for a little bit. Then we had company twice. By night he was pooped and ready to sleep. Me too. Found him sitting on the back porch drinking coffee when I got up this a.m. He hates being waited on....hardest part for hiom I think.
Today the heat is supposed to break and we are supposed to get some rain. Sure hope so or I'll have to go out and water - ugh. Lots and lots of gnats in the air and up your nose when walking around.
Not much else going on - everyone have fun today.

Good morning everyone,

Sicky checking in here again. Was planning on going to work today, but woke up not feeling so hot, just wanted to sleep and was coughing like crazy. Figured they didn't need a body aruond there who was hacking and coughing. We all know what that's like when you work and some co worker comes in who should have stayed home. So am just going to rest again today and go for it tomorrow. Going to be a sorry pay chack this next pay period. It's also kind of cool outside, actually had to put the heat on and it's going to rain later on, so probably better off staying inside where it's warm. Pretty breezy out there too.

Had kind of tossed around going camping later this coming weekend for my days off on Monday and Tuesday, but think not. May just go up there for the day and let the girls snoop and enjoy the day doing something. Shall see what happens. Grass is going to need cutting around here again too. But right now, I could care less about that. Wind is blowing the pollen down and my drive is getting yellow with it. Sure hope it rains and washes it all down and away. Seems bad this year. And it's been dry of late not to mention hot.

Otherwise nothing doing here. Just sitting and coughing, puttering around on this machine, getting some thing caught up though. Might try later and see if I can get this computer hooked up to my printer since my desktop died. The printer is capable of going wireless, so shall see what I can do. Hopefully I can keep it. You know how it is when a different program comes out in Windows. Sometimes equipment becomes obsolete. Hopefully not. I don't need a printer that much, but when I need it, I need it.

Hmmmm, this may also be a good time to look into the LL Bean catalog and spend some money too

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Haven't been online much lately, the internet has been majorly sucky up here! :x Tried to check in yesterday after I got off work but I couldn't get the pg to load plus I couldn't get into my email either! GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Work has been going well. Lots of dishes and good people to work with in the kitchen. Kelly is doing well with reservations and hostessing. She has finally moved out of the park model and back into the trailer!! She's happy as a pig in you know what!  Calls it "her" trailer and "her" bed now. Hmmmm? Might have problems there when it comes time for both of us to live in it again!

Carol, so glad to hear the the driver is getting back up to speed! No fun at all being down for too long....

Sue, sure hope you get to feeling better right soon!!!

OK, time to go back out in the kitchen and check my dirty dishes out, and get by butt back to work.

Hope everyone has a super fantastic day and does it all safely.

Love to all

Sue, I caught a cold in April that turned into a sinus infection and left me with a cough. My DH nagged me enough to finally go to a walk-in clinic. After a round of antibiotics and cough medicine I finally kicked it. My son caught it too and had to go to the clinic to get rid of the cough. I have a friend in Texas that had the same thing. We all don't live near each other so doesn't look like we could catch the same bug.

No big plans for the weekend. My sister wants to come and go shopping. She might bring her granddaughter. All she is going to want to do is go swimming. I feel a headache coming on. lol

Another cloudy cool day here. Still turn on the fireplace every morning.

Today..I hope to start on the guest room...seems weird to actually have a guest room after all these years. Our 20 year old moved on out last week. We now joke that the girls finally out number the boys in the house. So we still have 3 at home. DS 14 opted to move into the room that was DS 20. I think it is the cooler more teenage paint theme. We basically let the kids design how they want their rooms painted. After all it is just paint and can easily be redone. So now I am left with making a "football room" into a guest room. Now with that room...it means time to repaint the floor. As it had ugly tile that would not come up. We were redoing the room for DS 14 who was 10 at the time and wanted football theme. So we covered the tile with a smooth surface paneling. Then we painted it with green porch paint and used white duct tape to give it football stripes. I think I am going to paint it a sand color. As I decided to do a nautical theme with the guest room. We have all this Coast Guard Stuff that now will have a place to go. I did go to Big Lot's yesterday and pick up a few other nautical /beach things that are not CG. I have fabric for nautical quilt...will not get that done right away. So I will have to find a bedspread. I have a couple of weeks to get it all done before the first guest arrives. We have an exchange student coming from Spain.

I hoping I can get the walls done this weekend. Then the floor on Monday.

I have to figure out how to repaint some of the furniture. DS 20 left some items he did not want. They were painted Black and Red. ...not sure how it will work to get them back to white. I guess I will have to see. I usually spray paint furniture as it gives it a nicer lighter coat of paint. I might have to paint it with a gray primer first..then paint it white.

BTW...I actually love to paint/remodel.

Well I guess I should go and start rounding up the tools and such.

Good morning from Eureka on the N CA coast. Cloudy but not too chilly out this am.

I am on a 3 night work stretch starting tonight and begin my countdown for a week off over July 4th......Vegas here we come. Laura (CougarFan) and I are driving to Vegas for the holiday....free rooms at Boulder Station and a few buffets thrown in so should be fun. We plan to go down on the strip so Laura can see the Bellagio at night. Then a trip to Fremont Street and that should do it for us on the strip.

We both love road trips so should be fun. We are boarding our dogs at a local kennel by my house that is very reasonable and we have used them before so we are truly escaping from all responsibilities. Well for a week anyway.

After carold and I went shopping and bought the "gel memory foam mattress", mine sat in the car until I had the time to put it on my bed yesterday. I am seriously thinking it would be easier with 2 people ha ha However got it on the bed and let it breathe for the rest of the day. Slept on it last night and it was quite comfy. I put my feather bed on top of it so pretty soon my nose will be touching the ceiling HAH It says it will fully expand after about 3 days but so far so good. I like it.
