Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning, coffee's on. I'm experimenting with pecan rolls, we'll see how this works...
Brought the Big Kitty (Cougar Toy-Hauler) home last week and have been using it as a playhouse ever since, envisioning the many exciting adventures that are in its future.
DH was stressed pulling it at first but he's getting the feel of it. It is quite a bit larger than the Casita, our old Dutchmen trailer, but some of the length is now over the bed of the truck which makes it more maneuverable. The truck itself intimidates me, but I'll be driving it and possibly the trailer as well sooner or later.
I'm still working full-time, but bouncing in my seat as I see retirement peeking over the horizon like the sun. Have a pecan roll, what do you think?

GOOD MORNING SOJOURNER, AND ALL!

How exciting to have a new RV! Any pics of it yet? I know we would all love to see it!

The robins woke me up at a little after 4 this morning, and Molly and I went out to listen, I had a cup of coffee, and we watched the sun come up through the haze. I am still amazed at how much earlier the sun rises here in the north, and how much later it stays up in the evenings. I see a bit of a breeze beginning to riffle the leaves of the apple tree outside the trailer, and that will be good if it continues today. My plan is to head to the leanto at the pond, move all the stuff out of it I stored in there for the winter (tables and chairs), vacuum it out, (the amount of white pine pollen is astronomical this year), scrub things down, wash my bedding, set up my cook stove, set up my mini TV ( I need a new battery to keep that running between generator charges down there) clean off the paddleboat and launch that, and perhaps mow the grass if the lawn mower is still down there from last year. I hope to spend some nights down there now while the peepers are still singing, and now the eastern toads are beginning to do their mating trills after dark.

Things are good here at the house for now. Later, Mandy will help me to de-stuff the place and make it more habitable. Wiley will put more insulation in the cellar after we de-stuff the back "cold room."

I finished mowing the lawn for the second time yesterday after I vacuumed and cleaned the house and front screened porch, and the grass is lush and beautiful. The trailer is all organized and very comfy. Friday I have a dentist appointment with my long-time dentist who has retired, but will keep a few of his loyal patients for a couple more months until he heads out for the winter.

And that's it for the north country! Record-breaking temperatures forecast for today----I may have to take my first dip in the pond. Tomorrow severe thunderstorms are predicted----I so hate those.

Coffee is hazlenut again (can you tell that's my favorite?) so stop in and tell us what's up in your world.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning All - Well The Driver came home Monday around noon. The rest of that day and the night were stressful for both of us. Yesterday was quite a bit better. Finally got his pain pills in the a.m. - they sure help take the edge off. Both of us slept good last night. This morning we sat out on the porch for our coffee and watched a deer feed. Then he took a big walk. Now he is resting. Every day is better.
Nothing else going on around here - except the HEAT and humidity - going to be heat index over 100 again today - enough already. Sure hope it is not how the whole summer is going to be.
Travel safe everyone.

good morning ladies
just catching up on the local news this morning, the Wallow fire burning up in the forest is getting bigger and bigger, is now over 300,000 acres.
So many of those mountain towns/cities have been evacuated, including the town of Greer and Springerville and some of the towns of NM have
been put on alert as well. News this morning said even Albq is getting ash from this fire. The poor little animals, its really sad.
Don't really have any plans for today, have really enjoyed these 3 days off.
Time for a coffee refill and a little toast for my tummy.
Enjoy your day and be safe

A little overcast and foggy here this morning, typical June weather for us, but supposed to be sunny and 75 later.
Having coffee now and will grab a bowl of cereal in a while. Don't want to eat to much, I saw a casino Saturday when the BF and I were on a bike ride and Evie and I are gonna go check it out today. Prime rib at 2PM, $5 for seniors....what a deal! We usually prefer the buffets, but since we've never been to this one and there isn't another one close, we'll make do. We may even drive up to Julien for Apple Pie...depends on how the day goes. It's only another 20 miles or so.

Glad the driver and his nurse are doing better every day....joyful news indeed!

Soos is busy as ever....where do you get the energy???

Ava also always busy...Coming thru there end of June, Ava, but can't stop, I'll have the grandgirls with me and Evie in tow on the way to Tucson for a week. Maybe next time. Usually Tucson has nice weather in June, but it's hot now and supposed to be hot the week we're there....lots of pool time for the kiddies!!

Gotta run, hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning All,
Soos, I would just love to see photos of the pond, the lean-to, the screened-in porch...it sounds so wonderful..Pleeeese

I am just loving this area and sad to leave it on the 14th but new places to see! Drove down into California yesterday to do some rock hunting in an area a wizened ol gal told me about. I went to her rock shop with a rock I found up in the hills here above my site. I thought it was a beer bottle glass, but the only people that have ever walked in this area are Paiute Indians many moons ago, deer, coyotes and a cow or two so, the chances of a "beer bottle" were very remote...turns out, it was a beautiful shining red rock. This withered ol gal easily in her later 80's still crawls the hills sifting for finds...in a beat up ol van...she was unbathed, with tattered clothing and a little house that was falling down around her, she is the local rock expert..what a wonderful experience it was talking with her and hearing the escapades of her long-passed husband and herself in the days of rock-hounding in this hot endless landscape filled with rocks and gems. I could tell she loved him immensely and they must have had a wonderful time together, back in the day. She still works claims in Oregon and California all by herself with a rusty ol bucket, shovel and screen. Anyway, my pretty red rock turned out to be "red jasper". I found it right on the surface shining in the sun....what a kick!

A Good Day to all, blessed with health and happiness.....a special blessing to the "Driver" and his dear nurse.

Good (late) morning gals!

Carol, good to hear the Driver is doing better each day! He'll be up and running around in no time!

Soos, sounds like you are glad to be back home again! Such a different atmosphere there, than Florida!

Ava, I also think of all the little animals with those fires, especially this time of year with all the babies that can't get away fast enough. So very sad! I hope they can get ahold of those fires soon!

Kathy, I would love to go rock hounding someday for gems and minerals. That is something I loved doing as a kid, looking for pretty rocks, especially agates. That would be so fun to do again! Sounds like you found a really nice stone!

Yesterday was a great day at work as far as being really busy (not typical of a Tuesday) and getting a lot of tips! I was really beat when I got home tho, and fell asleep in my chair for a couple hours.

The San Diego Happy Campers group I am going camping with in July, is getting together in a couple weeks (June 25th) so everyone can meet each other ahead of time. We are meeting on the beach in San Diego for the afternoon, so that should be fun too! I haven't been to San Diego other than to the airport, so can't wait to spend some time down there. That is also the same day as the Annual Gourd Festival at the place where I took that gourd crafting class last November. I will do that in the morning and then head down along the coast to San Diego for the afternoon. Will be a busy but fun day!

I better get busy here. Gotta head to the bank and the library and then off to work later this afternoon.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Kathy, love talking with people like that (even though I don't look for or really care about rocks). I remember a couple in AL at a place I'd never heard of - I couldn't get away once we started talking and I didn't want to get away.

Carol, glad you and Bill are both feeling less stress. Since the weather here shows a break in the heat and humidity this weekend, I hope that means you'll get that break also. I went from sleeping the last several nights with all my windows open to closing everything up this morning and turning the air on. Had to do this for a few days a week or so ago, then cooler air came back. Well, not sure how much cooler the air, but how much lower the humidity. What a diff it makes.

Had a great visit with carold when she and her hubby Bob were stopped here in Eureka on Monday night. Luck was with me and I was off work that night. We went to dinner at a cute little Hawaiian cafe here in Eureka then a trip to Costco was in order (ya know a little retail therapy.) We both bought a new mattress for our beds. She has hers on her bed already and mine is still in the back of the car...as I had to work last night so will tackle it tomorrow. It is a Gel memory foam mattress...so will see how that works. I am waiting for a report HA HA

The hospital where I am under contract was begging me to stay longer...BUT I held STRONG and said nope gotta go in August, at least for a couple of months. I will let them know when I am available in October or so and if they still have a need then I would come back BUT for right now I am in "countdown mode".

I have a GTG to get my butt to in August. Then some moseying around in the MH. Some of my non-RV friends think I am crazy to want to go camping because they think I am camping now as I live in it while I am working. Now WE all know there is a huge difference between residing in one and CAMPING.

I am one step closer to being able to roll out of here in August. I have the baseplate and my braking system (almost, was missing a part but my RV place let me know the part is in so will get it put on in July) installed. Just need them to show me how to hook up this new tow bar from my MH to the car when I am home in July and I should be good to go.

I am off tonight and tomorrow night so the countdown continues...........<grin>

I don't believe they didn't get you again, Karen. So glad you're finally going to take a break. Hope you take another in the winter so we can gtg in AZ maybe. And I want to hear about those beds. So great you could meet Carol.

Hey, I posted Tuesday evening in the "campfire" section. Not my fault you guys missed it. Maybe that "nonalcoholic" stuff is more potent than you think  tGM put a picture in the blog, but obviously he didn't get all the facts about Karen quite right. And even though the pics have his signature, I've been taking quite a few of them. The first night the gel bed wasn't as I had hoped, but last night it was much better. Maybe it took longer to puff up or maybe my body is getting adjusted. We're leaving Smith River to continue heading up the coast. Met up with a couple that are good friends with my sister and we had dinner at a great restaurant in Brookings. The weather has been sunny and windy-temps in the 50-67 range. Hope it continues. carold
