Good Mornng from the 45th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Mornng from the 45th

Good Morning All,

Been awhile since I have had time to fix breakfast for you. Coffe is ready, hot chocolate, juice or tea for those who don't drink coffee. Cinnamon rolls, eggs, bacon, sausage or french toast. Take you choice. Since I am heading off to work, I will leave it all out on the bar so you can eat at your leisure.

Another beautiful morning here this morning, although a bit cool. Around 48. Was in the mid 80's and humid yesterday, but when the cool front came though in the evening, things just became pleasant. What is so rare as a day in June type thing. Today is supposed to be a picture perfect summer type day. Highs in 70's and plenty of sun.

Been really busy around here with yard work etc., With all the rain we've had this spring, it's a chore just keeping after the grass. I still have to do my neighbors yet and am going to do that after work before I need a hay mow to cut it with. Mine is all under control at the moment as is my weed whipping. Bought a flat of flowers to plant and will get them in either tonight or tomorrow. Rain moving in tomorow afternoon again. House needs a good cleaning too. So will be busy two days off.

Neighborhood kids are getting excited. Tuesday is last day of school. Teachers will probably be glad as well. Then everybody can go enjoy the summer. There is a dark cloud on the horizon however for the schools and that is the state legislature just passed and governor signed the new budget for this coming fall. In it are cuts to school funding of $606 per pupil, which means a lot of cuts for the districts. Ours has just pink slipped 11 teachers and will not be filling two other positions from retirements. They have never laid that many teachers off in this school dsitrict. It's all part of the governors plan to get MI's budget crisis under control. So more folks out of work. And it's not just this district, a lot are laying off.

So I am off to work here. Going to run and get my Sunday paper and then head for the park. A busy morning for me first thing as I not only am checking all the toilet/shower buildlings but I also have to get our beach shelter ready for a reservation today. Probably a graduation party.

So have a wonderful day all.

Morning, Sue, and everyone else who pops up at the breakfast table.

It's only 3:45 here in the PNW so a bit early for breakfast. My dog woke me up to go out and that almost always means I'm up for good. :?

Good news! My AC kicked on about 4pm yesterday for the first time since last summer! We've had the most gorgeous weekend! Too bad I was busy with outdoors chores and not out camping, but hopefully we'll get more days like these...

I did my pilates workout, then got my back and front yards mowed and edged then got the patio cleaned and the furniture set out. Then a nice cool shower and time to relax in the sun! ahhhh...

I think my DD and 2 GDs are stopping by later. Always good to have them visit. Then I need to prepare a meal for my neighbor. Other than that, nothing planned.
Life is good!

Good morning Sue, Lenora & everyone that follows!

Yesterday, we had my parents over for steak & shrimp cooked on the grill. While we were taking them home, we stopped off at my sisters house, the one that broke her ankle a few weeks ago. Mom & Dad hadn't seen her since she came home from the hospital and we had a nice visit with her. She was in a lot of pain but was glad we stopped by.

Today we are having my sister & her hubby over for a crab feast. I hope she won't be too uncomfortable.

I need to scoot and get things done around here so you all have a good day!

Good Morning to ALL right now it is beautiful out here in Indiana. But a windy storm rolled through here last night - power out for 3 to 4 hours - and another one is supposed to roll in in an hour or so. I finally washed my car yesterday morning - then last night it was parked under the trees - nice mess on it today - oh well. Had little "country living" experience last night. I knew the storm was coming so I went out front to take the hanging plants down and put them where they could get some of the rain water. As I took one down something fell on my chest - it was dark out and I didn't have my glasses on - thought it was a big leaf so just blew on it. It dropped off and THEN HOPPED AWAY! It was a frog about the size of the palm of my hand. Kind of funny and new experience for me.
The Driver was doing pretty well when I got ov er to hospital yesterday afternoon - into a new room, been walking, sitting up in a chair and eating most of his lunch. Doc had been in and removed one of the chest tubes and lots of the IVs. Bill said he was ready to go home. Well what goes up usually comes down. An hour or so later he wasn't feeling so swift. And he got a HOT FLASH - ha! nurses said that was very normal for men who go through open heart surgery. I had a blanket wrapped around me his room was so cool. I think Bill was a little worried that he no longer felt so good (so was I) but doc came in and explained it is kind of like the stock market used to be goes up and comes down and then goes up a little higher then back down but not quite so low to go up a little higher again. Makes sense. After all it had only been 48 hours.
Drove into Columbus to buy some deer corn see some friends yesterday morning. Think it kind of pissed The Driver off as he isn't used to me doing things for myself any more. The bags are still sitting on the front porch though - have to get my neighbor to move them around back. Filled the car with gas at Sam's Club 15cents cheaper than any where else. For some reason gas here is now $4.15 a gallon.......its crazy.
Think I'll just call over and talk to him this a.m - and after the storm passes through if it is still afternoon go over there then. I'm tired and there are a lot of things I want to get done here before he comes home. Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, putting Deer Off on the plants and laundry. We'll see how guilty I get feeling as the day goes on.
Off to have something to eat - instant oatmeal probably. Doesn't tax my brain to fix it.
Everyone traveling have a good time and stay out of bad weather.

Glad the driver is improving nicely... Irmi you can come fix me dinner would love it... then if the rain stops for a while we can sit on the deck and get acquainted... Lenora that is way to early to get up... bet you will be tired this afternoon... I got up at 6:30...
May you each have a very good day...

Morning ladies and thanks for the coffee.

It's 10:30 and I am just getting time to sit down and read email. So hot here again today that I got up at 6am to start working on cleaning. Having my open house today in about 3 hours. Of course when you least need it the worst happens. Opened the back door to find ants all over the back patio. Yikes. Dropped everything and ran to the 24 hour grocery store to buy 3 cans of ant spray. Raid makes one that is non-toxic smelling thank goodness. Came home and sprayed all around the outdoor room. Then went back to cleaning. So now the house is sparkling and my last load of laundry is in the wash. Been packing up the Seeker too as we are leaving this evening to head down and visit my brother and his dear wife. I have been so worried about her since her heart problems in April but this is the first chance for me to go and lay eyes on her.

So..... I'm up at 6am, cleaning house like mad, running all the laundry through, packing up the Seeker, showering and dressing to look like I haven't been running around cleaning like mad all morning, going out in about an hour to pick up the Goddess and some baked goodies for the tons of people who will be coming in the front door and dying to buy this place so I can get on the road.

OK, maybe I had a little too much coffee this morning. Ya think?

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Good to hear news about the driver from Carol-----thanks for the update! Tell him to settle down and get used to having things done by you and others while he regains his "driverly" skills!

Sitting here in the trailer, feasting my eyes on the hills and distant mountains, listening to the white-throated sparrows, which the south does not have, robins, watching Adirondack bunnies munch on the newly mown grass, listening to the news, and enjoying it here so very much! It's 63 outside already, with a very overcast sky. Molly and I are going for a walk to the pond as soon as I get breakfast dishes done. I still haven't unhooked my truck, as Joe is planning to take down the two beautiful balsam trees that have grown so tall and are in not healthy shape any more, growing close to the house. I will miss those trees terribly, but they have lived their life's expectations, and I need to make sure they don't come down on the house in a big wind some day. If Joe's dad can't come to help him today, however, I will unhitch and finish unpacking the truck. I can always just hitch up without the equalizer hitch just to move the trailer out of the way any time.

I cleaned the vacuum cleaner filters that were totally clogged with the kids' huge dogs' hair yesterday, as well as did the first mowing of the tall grass. I am pleased with how the mowing turned out-----my mower did a great job set on high, not smothering the remaining growing grass at all.

Tomorrow I have some business and doctor calls to make so I can get back into the prescription stuff I need----blood tests needed to check liver function as I am on statins. (I wonder if Mikes Harder Lemonade has ruined that!)

Hope you all have a fun day doing something special for yourselves.

Happy travels!

Goodness it's hot here, 102 again. I noticed the cats were fast steppin on the cement. I would have been too if I had been bare foot. There are isolated thunderstorms predicted but the only thing I see on the radar is around New Orleans. Last night a cell came through about 50 miles North going from East to West. There were damaging winds and some were without electricity. When our weather starts coming from the East or Southeast we know we are in hurricane season. I mowed part of the yard until it got too dusty.

I need to go grocery shopping but it's so HOT. Tomorrow I have to bring the dog to the vet for his checkup and I can't go shopping if I have him with me. I'll see how ambitious I feel later.

Glad to here everyone is up and moving around. We just pulled into the Fairgrounds in Eureka, CA. Was thinking we were going to stop in Crescent City, but we tGM decided to stop early. Don't know what the day has in store for us. Hope to hear from people in northern CA to see where they are. If tGM isn't in too much of a rush, maybe I'll get to gtg. carold
