All Done - Thank goodness

The Driver had a 4 bypass - doc says heart is pumping strong. Within a couple of hours he was off the breather and giving us glassey eyed looks.
Soon he was talking and flirting with the nurses. Says he was in pain - no kidding! Nurse told him if he was fatter the tubes coming out of his chest wouldn't hurt so much - I came home last night instead of staying at hospital - I was wiped out - wanted to talk to our kids on a "real phone" and wanted to sleep in my own bed. Will head over there in a while for another long day. Hard to believe today they'll have him up - He has two nurses with him at all times and doc was in and out all day.
Today they'll probably fit him with that chest compressor harness thingy - and he already hates it -
Will keep you updated.

So glad surgery is over and turned out so well. Hope you were able to rest last night.

Will keep you both in my prayers and thoughts, that recovery will be a piece of cake.

Keep us posted, please, and take care of yourself, Carol.

Great news! He will come through this like a champ and be chasing you all over the house :o I am in awe of some of the things they have learned to do in 50 years. My own father could have had a longer life had he had heart disease today instead of in the fifties.

Sounds good, Carol. I'm glad he's so ornery -- makes him fight harder to get out of there & home where he can really begin to heal.

Now ... YOU take care of YOURSELF.

Fantastic news, Carol! Good idea to go home and get plenty of R&R. If The Driver is like tGM when he's not up and around like usual, you'll need it :D carold

Was so happy to see your positive update this morning. Now take care of yourself and get all the rest you can before Bill comes home.
BTW: Congrats on rediscovering you like to drive. That great little car has probably missed you and is also happy to be out again.
