Memorial Day Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Memorial Day Monday

Postby Irmi » Mon May 30, 2011 6:43 am

Good morning everyone!

It's Memorial Day & the last day of the long weekend. The campground we are in has a good crowd and the weather was fantastic. We were in the high 80's all weekend and today we will get into the low 90's. We'll be pulling out of here this afternoon to head home. Fortunately we are able to take back roads to avoid the holiday traffic.

Coffee & tea are on and this mornings breakfast is sausage, fried eggs & fried potatoes. Please help yourself.

Enjoy your day, be safe & be careful.

Good Morning to All - I probably shouldn't be posting this a.m. as I'm not in a nice Memorial Day mood - I'm more in a ticked off state of mind. And I know I should be happy for my blessings but....four days ago we were without electricity for 12 hours and now we are without water since around 3 yesterday afternoon. Water Co says the break is way down deep in the woods across a couple of creeks.......and to check with local radio station for updates - asked her what the local radio station was and she didn't know [shes in Bloomington and she has water]- as far as I know this area doesn't have one. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Today is going to be another hot one - mid 90s and very humid. The outside plants are already looking droopy - a little rain tonight would be nice. Did pick some strawberries from out by the pond.
The Drivers surgery will be Thursday very a.m - I'm looking forward to it. It makes me nervous to have him here. The pills he is taking have turned him into a zombie. Slow walking and even slower talkiing. At night I wake up and listen to make sure he is breathing - and he breaths so quiet when he is asleep - hard not to poke him to check.
Think I'll pull my car out today and go into the village to the market - guess I'd best call first to make sure store is open- never know around here.
Hope everyone has a good day, nice weather and fun travels.

Carol you guys have certainly had more than your share of problems living in the boonies, maybe a move to or really near a bigger city is in your future. I'll be keeping you both in my prayers until the surgery is over. The waiting is so hard I imagine.

I hope everyone has a safe holiday and your weather is cooler than it is here.

Happy Memorial Day ladies! I hope you have all enjoyed a long, lovely weekend and have somewhere had a little time to remember those we honor with this holiday. For years I participated in the services at the Vets cemetery but have gotten away from it since dh passed. Just still hard for me to hang out at cemeteries.

Spent all day yesterday working in the flower beds and cleaning up the gazebo. Today I spent a good bit of time cleaning out dh's workshop. I've scheduled an open house for next Sunday. Hoping it goes well, but I really was hoping to have a bid from that last couple that came to see the house. They really seemed interested.

So, off to 2 exam days and one day of cleaning out my classroom for the final time. It's like a feeding frenzy in a shark tank. Teachers come by and "casually" ask if I'll need this and that any more. My plan is to just take the few things I want out the door with me on Thursday and let the sharks feed on what's left. Winner take all!

3 days and one step closer to freedom and the road!
