June 2011 for the Early PA GTG!!

Finally, I have my June schedule. I'll be driving over on Monday morning and returning here on Tuesday evening. Was hoping to spend two nights, but am working until 9 on Sunday - so that didn't work out. Just glad to be able to come! Let me know if we're doing a pot luck or what on Monday, so I can be sure to bring whatever is appropriate

Can't wait to see all those that Peaches and I will get to see.

Hi, all....yes, it's getting closer to the PA GTG.... and am so excited!!!!

To Beth.......will do some planning this week on pot luck, etc....and post them.....

To Liz......no GTG Banner so far as last PO check yesterday....will have the Sultan check again Tues......To Karen and/or Birdie....PM me for our address if you don't have it....

Okay, gang...here's the plan for the week....and as always, it is made in "jello", meaning we change things up on Sunday night to fit.....

Sunday, June 12 - Arrival Day - Supper/Dinner is on The Sultan & Me - Sloppy Joes, Salad, and something great for dessert....giving everyone a relaxing evening after the drive and setting up......We'll make our plans for touring and activities that evening......(see below for places of interest.)

Monday, June 13 - Evening meal - Our POT LUCK!! - since most will be here for this evening, we'll POT LUCK - IT....doesn't matter what you bring....hence, the "Pot Luck".....

Tuesday, June 14 - Wine & Cheese Tasting - Bring a wine you've never had and a cheese you never tasted.....light fair such as fruit, crackers, chips & dips....also welcome....

Weds., June 15 - Hot Dogs and Smores - an evening at the Campfire....

Thursday, June 16 - Coffee & what ever....in the morning before everyone Departs for their next adventure....


Places of Interest:
Suggestions for touring and activities: Of course, we'll do the Battlefield and G-burg (as the locals call it.).....Adams County Winery, Antique shops in New Oxford, PA (their claim to fame is "Antique Capital of PA), the "Round Barn" and fruit orchards of Adams County PA.....

As I said, these are all subject to change according to what the Majority would like to do...if you have additional ideas, let me know....

Gee Lori, that plans sounds so good. Sorry I had to bail out. But in the long run it turned out to be a good thing, cause both of my coworkers who can cover my shift are not available the weekend of the 18th and I also have to change to afternoon shift the middle of that week too. HS graduation party for her son and the other coworker is the grandfather, so.......... There is no way we can all be gone at the same time And the darn gas prices have really got me pinched this summer too. Oh well, guess that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. But I hope everybody has a great time and I am looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing the pics.

Hi, All....The Sultan is so worried that some of you will loose your way here, so he's requested that I post the directions again....Hence, I went to last year's directions and copied and pasted them here for you....

Basically, Option 1, coming I-81, N or S, take US30 at Chambersburg, PA, go East on US 30 to PA Route 234, then East about 8-9 miles and the campground will be on your left. Option 2. Coming on US 15, N or S, take PA Route 234 towards Heidlersburg/Biglerville, which is West. Follow PA Route 234 thru these 2 towns...head toward Arendtsville...in Arendtsville at stop sign take right (which is still PA 234 west) follow still past fairgrounds....campground will be on your right. Both Options: Conewago Campground sign is right by the road....
Ernie also says, if you'd like, to call us the day before (PM me for the phone number), with your estimated time of arrival and he'll make arrangements to meet you and bring you in.

I was able to switch hours on Sunday so I can be off about 4 pm instead of 9 pm. I'll hopefully be ready to leave as soon as I get off, walk Peaches, etc. Hope you'll be able to stay long enough so we can meet, Paulette.

This is not for certain but I am going to see if I can attend this GTG with my daughter. We are kind of on her schedule for this trip to NY, so that is why I can't commit just yet. Do you still have an opening for one more rig? How late can I commit? Do I need to send a deposit or pay when I get there?
