The Last Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

The Last Friday

Postby HorizonSeeker » Fri May 27, 2011 6:02 am

Morning Ladies! Guess knowing it's the last Friday of the school year makes a body want to get up early and start things happening.

Coffee, tea, orange juice?

I'm thinking a special morning like this calls for pancakes, crisp bacon, and lots of maple syrup! I feel like celebrating. Anyone care to join me?

Hi All!

Congrats on the last Friday, and I'll join you with coffee for now!

Mandy is down here in FL with me now, and will ride back home with me as I haul my trailer back to the north country. She looks good and feels good, and the baby is due around the first of October. She is actually excited about the prospect of becoming a mama, and I feel good about it all!

Yesterday Goog got us free passes to Disney, about 10 to 15 minutes from my home, and we spent about 5 hours walking around Animal Kingdom. It was a very hot day in the sun, but the jungles of animal kingdom, along with the strategically placed fans throughout, made it very comfortable walking and finding all the animals. The highlight of the day, for both of us, was seeing the little baby gorilla with its mom! We had a good day. The days before we just lolled in the Orlando home, swimming, sunning, eating, and I was watching the Casey Anthony trial on live TV.

Yesterday evening, after Mandy took a nap and I did some laundry, we drove down here to St. Cloud to visit Goog and Melissa. They went to work today, but begin their vacation as of tonight. Monday they will jet off to Mexico for a 5-day, all-inclusive vacation, and Mandy and I will do the last-minute preparations to haul our asses home.

We may get some much-needed rain today, which will be very welcome. The weekend is forecast to be nice, and cooler than the record-breaking high temperatures we have been having. All in all, it should be a fun time for us all.

Off I go now to head to the trailer to tune in the Anthony trial.

I may not be online for the trip home, or I may, depending on whether there is any WiFi available wherever we overnight.

Love to all from me, Mandy, and Molly
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Oh happy day...school is almost out! Even my sister (who has her two grandsons) said she is looking forward to it! (of course that will change in about two weeks :D or less!).

Soos, so glad you are having fun time with Mandy. Aren't daughters the best? You are going to LOVE being a grandma!

In a few minutes I'm going out to McKinney to dump my tanks. Then a quick wash and I will be ready to start packing. Not so much to do there, but I like to fuss around with the 'best' arrangement for all my most important stuff. ;)

Thinking about daughters, I'm having lunch today with DD's ex's auntie who is estranged from her 25 year old daughter. That is so sad. Life is too short for that kind of craziness. Just hoping it doesn't take too long for the daughter to get through this and back into the family.

Oh my, I seem to be putting off getting out there!

Have a great day all, talk to you later!

good morning ladies,
back to work this evening but still plenty of time today to get things accomplished. Got so much done over the last two days, that I've amazed myself. Finally got my desktop computer hooked back up, need to update a few things on it but am enjoying a normal size monitor. Much better on these tired old eyes. My desk is all cleaned off and stuff got organized. New shelves got put up and more laundry caught up on. Will start going through sons hampers and washing up some of his big stuff one piece at a time. Putting the clothes line in outside makes it all possible.
Still need to make a trip out to the fifthwheel to find some important papers, guess I'll plan
that for next week.
Soos, enjoy your trip back home.
Horizonseeker, enjoy your last Friday
Enjoy your day ladies whatever you do, be safe.

Good morning everyone!

Horizonseeker, thanks for the pancakes! They really hit the spot!

Soos, I am so happy that Mandy will be able to go with you back to NY. She'll be so much company.

Mtngal, enjoy your lunch!

Ava, I hope you find the papers you're looking for.

Kathleen, I sure hope it warms up for you soon.

I went to Lowe's this morning with the company credit card to buy flowers for the office window boxes. After I returned to my office, I cleaned out the stuff that was leftover from last year and planted the new flowers. Between lugging the ladder and wheelbarrel to each window box location and planting and watering the flowers, I feel like I've been to Curves for a workout. But maybe that's a good thing because I'm going to skip my workout this afternoon so we can head for the campground. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous all weekend with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 80's.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial weekend. Please stay safe, whatever you're doing.

Coming back from physical therapy my DH wanted to drive by a pasture we have by the new state park. We toured the park while we were there. That is one big place. I think all the camp sites are back in and most are very shaded. I thought there would be more people camping but guess most are coming this afternoon. I had looked the other day and it was booked up for the weekend. They have what they call a water park which is a big concrete area with shooting water and a playground. I will have to bring my grandson if he gets to come this summer. They also have a canoe trail and several ponds. I saw a couple of people fishing.

I don't have any plans for the weekend. It's going to be hot. I just heard on the news that our parish is under a burn ban. Yesterday I went to the back door and could smell smoke. I walked all around trying to find out where it was coming from. I think the marsh was on fire south of us. We had heavy smoke for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

Just another weekend for me here. I have today off but am working Sat, Sun and Monday. The shop is actually open on Memorial Day! I think we will be just sitting around doing nothing all day! What a waste of time!

Yesterday was a good day at work. I made over $60 in tips and sold almost $50 in product (to my last customer of the day!). Still don't know why they cut my hours back again. One gal who is part-time is getting more hours than she wants, so she has been letting me take one of her days each week. I have a job interview next Wednesday for that esthetician position, so we'll see what comes of that.

Today I have an appointment at Walmart to get my picture taken. Decided to get a nice "professional" photo done of myself for my dating profiles on-line. I am not getting any responses to them, so am thinking I need better photos. We'll see... The photos don't cost much at Walmart so I won't be out much if they don't turn out too great.

It is 77 and sunny right now in SoCal with a high in the mid 80's for the whole weekend. Too bad I will be at work all weekend :(

Hope all of you heading out this weekend and next week, have safe travels!

Soos, have fun traveling with your daughter. Good bonding time! My mom and I had so much fun together on all the trips we took together! Best memories I have of her!

I think she has a "look, don't touch" policy on food like that.

I worded that specifically to elicit a comment, which I would have bet money would have come from You-Know-Who...

Soos, I have a daughter named Mandy too! We just celebrated her birthday (again) tonight. She will go with me on my maiden voyage to NY in June. It is so nice when the kid's start worrying about their mom instead of vice versa.

Spent hours this morning with my local computer geek getting two computers transferred to one new laptop. He seemed to appreciate my anal tendencies to organize everything within my computers. He was especially amazed that I had the audacity to change file names different than what my computer named them. Ya' know, file name 342bc0723zyt does not tell me anything.

Love my new Asus laptop. Selling my 64 bit quad monitor system which was soooooo convenient but not practical for an RV. Ever notice that when computer geeks start talking technical stuff that their eyes light up? It is like a drug fix, I think.

Yes, Vicki, it was the Palmetto Island State Park that we drove through. I'm paying Harold back for the month he hauled me around when I broke my shoulder. I went to the fund raiser they had but there were so many people then that you couldn't get around. It is really spread out. I was just wondering how dusty those roads are when the park is full. You should have told me you were coming, we only live about 5 miles from there.
