Update:

Still waiting to see what is going to actually happen. It has been and continues to be a roller coaster ride. The river will crest tomorrow at 23.3, again lower than expected. The back water could take up to two weeks before it crests (as told by St Martin Parish OHLSP), this is what will flood Butte LaRose. News as of yesterday evening, we could get as much as 3 1/2 feet of water in my subdivision. It will be worse for other areas in Butte LaRose. Where I live, is the highest elevation in Butte LaRose. I sure hope they are incorrect, like as in the river crest stage of 29.

Please continue to pray for all of us in Butte LaRose.

Thanks.
Carolyn

Carolyn,

What agony having to wait to see what damage you may or may not incur while you live elsewhere after vacating your home.

Got you covered on the prayer list Carolyn - all of your neighbors too. Keep your faith and know that what happens is his will. There is a reason for it all, my friend. Keep us posted.

And Carolyn, my place wasn't involved in the 7 twisters that night in OK. Thanks for checking on me.

Hello all,
Update:
The mandatory evacuation has been lifted to voluntary for residents south of Dick Davis Park as of 8:00 am Monday. I do live south of Dick Davis Park. :-)

I went check my home Monday via from my camping trip. So far, I do not think water got into my lower back room of home and garage (main part of home is several feet above ground level) and the outdoor kitchen area is dry. I did not have my keys to get inside my home or garage (did not expect to be able to go home). I will go back on Thursday with keys to check the inside. The water is up to my garage on the NE side of my home. The NW side of my home (lower back room on ground of home) has a drainage pipe that back flowed with water, so I am not sure if water got into that room (no keys & will check it Thursday).

I am still waiting to see if we get more backwater (very possible) because the lake side and river side have not equalized. It is predicted up to two more feet of backwater. If this happens, I will probably get water in the lower back room and garage. If this is the case, it is a much better scenario that what was originally predicted.

I will not move back home until after the river and lake have equalized. This should be within two weeks. I have posted pics on my facebook page, if you are interested.

Thanks for all your thoughts, concerns and prayers. It is very much appreciated!

Wow, so the stress continues. I was so hoping you'd be getting back home sooner, but I think you are right. It could have been so much more worse.
Continued prayers for your family and others in the same predicament. (((hugs)))
