Good morning!
I must be the first for a Wednesday morning hello's! Its cloudy today with expected rain showers.... the last two days have been gorgious, so enjoyed just being outside for a change... I went to Tiadnapiam Park yesterday to visit some friends that were camping there. I also put in an application for hosting!
Had a great visit and walked our dogs ( they have Boston Terriers too)
My last few weeks have been going to the vet with Millies eye..... its not healing as fast as it should so with 3 kinds of drops and 2 pills, its been a regiment of medicating... Another check up on Friday, so i dont see to much change going on.... I hope she wont loose her eye...
Been watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder.. I bought another one too.. so hoping to see lots of those little birds this yr. I sat with my camera outside on the patio and got acouple of nice pictures..

Good morning everyone!!
its my first day of summertime vacation, schools done and I'm off for a month. I slept in of course, rolled over after shutting off the alarm and went back to sleep, boy did that feel good!
I have lots planned in my head to get accomplished. I'll still have my airport job to go to but for the most part I'll have 4 days off each week.
Hope everyone has a great day, and keep your eyes on the sky as you all dodge the bad weather. I want you all to stay safe.

Good Morning... we have storms and also in the night thunder boomed... so glad Shadow just lays there and does not move a muscle... Those pictures are very good Christine coffee and watching the birds...
It was good to talk to my son yesterday afternoon... sure hope they keep what ever is happening on top of their list... it is a bit unsettling...
Ava you have come a long long way since last year... I am proud of you...

It's going to be a gorgeous day here on the left coast, sun is shining and birds are singing. Leaving today for Lucerne Valley for jeeping, be back Tues. Supposed to be hot up there, but I don't trust the weather man so will be taking enough clothes to cover all types of weather.

Chewy got her teeth cleaned yesterday so she slept all afternoon, all night and now is taking her morning nap in my lap. Something to be said for anesthesia! LOL!

I saw the news about the new tornados in the mid-west..I stayed in El Reno year before last on my way to the Tn GTG. Last year stayed right outside of OKC. Scary stuff. They have a lot of tornados and bad storms this time of year but this is the worst in a long time. DH and I used to take our vacation there this time of year....after 2 or 3 years we got the hint and changed out time off to Oct. Called son in Arkansas and they are ok, but said they had a lot of wind and lost a couple of trees.

We're under a severe weather alert until sometime tomorrow and I must admit to being nervous and usually I'm not. The devastation from all the storms this spring is enough to make one nervous though, Joplin, MO isn't all that far from here.

Lots to do so need to get moving before the rain settles in, today is my DH's birthday. We went to dinner with friends last night and I gave him bacon and eggs for breakfast so his day has started out good.

G'morning, ladies.
I woke up to such devastating news of more tornadoes touching down and more going on right now. The pictures of total destruction is mind boggling. Makes my whining about a little rain seem trivial. Continued prayers...

Got a text from my DIL. She is to be in a wedding in Napa wine country this weekend and my DS and GD are both down with stomach flu. She was asking for prayers for their recovery and to cover her so she doesn't catch it. Guess it's going around in her area.

Ava, enjoy your month off from school bussing. Get some much needed rest. And I echo the statement of how proud we are of you!
Kathleen, keeping your son in my prayers, and all you others who have family hurting or in need yourselves.

Morning All!
Wind is blowing, clouds are black, can see rain in all the mountains as it makes it's way this-a-way but that gives an excuse to stay inside and do little or nothing, probably clean...then again, maybe not. I agree with Lenora about not complaining about trivial rain or any inclement weather in light of these wretched tormados. I just can't grasp what is happening in the midwest, I don't remember this kind of relentless onslaught; I keep praying for those that lost family and friends. It would seem that tornado alley building codes should require storm cellers in each home and building.

Big weekend coming. This entire park will be filled, right now it's quiet with only about 12 people here out of 50, or so, sites so that should be fun to watch. I'll stay put and leave all the nice fishing holes to the visitors...they'll find out that there aren't any fish in them...

Terrible to watch all those storms develop and do their destruction. We were under watch here too, but just thunderstorms so far. It was a beautiful morning, but clouding up again now.

Today was laundry day. Even I have to stop and do laundry every once in awhile. Nan and I took our loads to a little town nearby and used the laundromat. Then we stopped at a market (Slaughter's Market) that had local produce and that cuts their own meat. I guess they do....chicken feet were on special. Nan offered to cook them, if I'd eat them. Hmmm...

Then the unthinkable happened. I opened the van door to put groceries inside, and before I could react, out jumps Bear, running across the parking lot, out onto the highway right into traffic...me in hot pursuit. Nan was still in the store. Thankfully, drivers slowed down and even opened their doors to try to lure Bear inside. Bear was having none of that, he kept running. Finally at the side of the road he slowed down briefly and I grabbed him. He let me know he did not like that, but I wouldn't let go. We are all safe at home again, and my heart rate seems to have returned to normal.

Glad you've got some time off Ali, relax and pamper yourself some.

Poor Liz, this seems to be a pattern here, chasing after Nan and then her baby? Oh well, it's one way to get your exercise! Glad you caught the escaping pup before something terrible happened. He was hell bent on finding his mama.

Ava, I am so jealous. My kids are here for 5 more days, at least physically, but they are so not here mentally. We are making up some snow days. Speaking of weird weather, we have bad storms heading this way tonight. I'll be inside early.

Just got the state testing scores and had 3 kids score advanced in U.S. History which is a good feeling considering the ones I teach.

Back to giving exams. Stay safe everyone!

And it apppears that Bear was easier to catch. Glad it was a happy ending.

We survived that wicked weather yesterday. Those in its path, be careful and stay safe. We were under a T-storm watch until about 4PM and then a tornado warning until 10 PM. There was a lot of activity in the counties around us but we managed to be left along. We should be safe for the rest of the month and then our severe weather will be over for another year. Starting June 1, it's hurricane season once again. Seems like it just doesn't stop. Just to be safe will leave my little hidey hole as is until June.

If you do end up in Washington and were planning to then turn east again let me suggest the trip I would take ifn' it were me. Drive up to Mt Rainier and spend a day or two hiking the literally thousands of trails, look down onto glaciers, and likely see climbers on the mountain with binoculars, it's an alpine wonderland...actually the name of the main trail that circles the mountain is the "Wonderland" trail. Then drop down the east side of the mountain toward Naches and Yakima and then you choose your easterly direction from there, be it Idaho or down into Oregon, Utah.

If you just venture into Washington a little you could easily drive up to Mt St. Helens, it's very near the Oregon/Washington border and is really something to see. Even though regrowth has occurred the impact from the blast is very evident. The easiest place to see into the dome is at the visitor's center.

I was born and raised in Washington and always considered my ol friend Mt Rainier to be a "trophy" standing in the most beautiful state in the US...

Thanks for the info, Kathy. tGM and I lived in Tacoma for almost 2 years while he was stationed in the AF. Loved the area and did quite a bit of hiking and traveling while there. We could actually see Mt. Ranier out our window. We've been traveling now for about 6 years as well as renting rv's before buying and we also love NW as you do though we travel thru it a lot quicker than you. I really enjoy your posts-there are so many beautiful places and you seem to know them all. carold
