I'm still alive

Postby kelpie » Mon May 16, 2011 1:45 pm

Ladies, I just realized the other day that it has been waaaaay too long since I checked in. I'll try to keep my update short and simple. Oldest DS lives with me now but was working and paying "rent". No work since last fall sometime so money is tight. Couldn't quite squeeze the expense of wintering somewhere in while still needing to keep heat etc on for him. Plus I still owe some on the ole cc from last trips. Had applied to work at Disney World for the "season" - the pay would have paid the cost of the trip and help whittle down the bills also. But they never even called me. #2 Son is engaged - wedding June 2012 - and asked if mom would help with expense. His fiancee's parents either can't or won't(not sure which) help much. So, decided to look for part time work to earn it instead of withdrawing from investment. In meantime, mentioned to neighbor with infant twins that I was home during day if she needed someone to watch the boys. Suddenly found myself with two part-time jobs. Babysitting the twins (now 16 mos) for 14-16 hours per week and being a "demo lady" at Sam's Club on weekends. Still wanting to travel somewhere and gas jumps to over $4 per gallon. I guess I have just been so totally bummed that I have a lovely RV just sitting there that I haven't even checked in with you - my loyal RV friends. I apologize over and over and I have missed you all. I promise to stay in touch, even while I stay home.

Thanks for checking in....life sure get complicated sometimes. After my daughter's wedding last year, I am proud to say that weddings don't have to cost much in order to be wonderful get togethers for family and friends of the couple. My daughter did so much herself and planned and maintained a very tight budget. :D Hope that the part-time positions do their magic. Just remember that knowing the rig is out there can motivate you and remind you why it is all worth it. :D

I was thinking about you and wondering how you were - so glad to have you check in. Sorry to hear things aren't quite the way you want them to be. But it sounds like you've got a couple fun jobs. Hope so anyway. Please don't stay away so long this time!

Nice to hear from you again Kellie. Be interesting to hear how you do with the twins. I have 15 Mo. old twin (boy and girl) grandbabies. Their other grandma (age 62) watches them 4 full days/week and my daughter works from home the other day. I would certainly help out but live 4 hours away. It's tiring chasing after two little babies but so entertaining!! LOL Your neighbor twins' mom is so lucky to have you so close to help her out!! Take care and your trips will come in due time.

Sorry things aren't working out the way you planned, but as Ava said, sometimes the only thing you can do is make lemonade. Hope things start looking up for you soon and you can get back on the road!

Glad you're still checking in, Kelly. I know the times I was stuck at home for various reasons, it always helped to travel vicariously with those sisters here who were on the road.

..

There is just too much "life sucks" going around! Seems like things can only go up!
Glad you're okay and checked in...
You'll be on the road again soon.
