It took traveling with my daughter to get me to stop at the Biltmore. Reading the material and looking at all the nooks and rooms and hallways fed my imagination regarding a life style that was.... The grounds are just beautiful but the colors of spring are over the top.

Beautiful pictures, thank you Liz I always wanted to tour the Biltmore! I have read of Mountain Laurel in many books and wondered what it looked like.

On my bucket list! Thought you knew about Passport America, Liz. I can usually find one in an area I want to visit. That one is really pretty and clean.

Liz,

Great photos. You have a good eye for photography. Brought back memories from my visit there a few years ago. Asheville and areas north along the BR Pkwy are one of my most favorite areas. Although I don't like shopping, there were some wonderful craft shops in Asheville itself. Beautiful work. Thanks for posting these.

The mountain laurel are gorgeous! Do they have a scent? Also, the photos of the green grass and trees makes me homesick. Nothing much green around here :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Thank you for another wonderful tour.
Hard to imagine that people once lived in places like Biltmore. Travel in the late Victorian era must have been quite an experience.

Southern Highlands Handicraft Guild is headquartered in Ashville. You and Nan might find a visit to one of their shops interesting.

Thanks for reminding me about that place, Sarah. I've bookmarked it so I might remember next visit. There's a lot to do in and around Asheville, so I'm sure I'll stop this way again. Nan has an appointment at a camping world tomorrow to see about getting an inverter installed on her rv. We spent last night at a Walmart and ran a cord from my rv to hers so she could run her c-pap off my inverter. (Hope she's still breathing over there...)

Another great trip, and, so far, I have spent not a cent for gas! Thanks, Liz! I cannot fathom living in a place like that. I think I would feel as if I were in an institution of some sort. But what an historical place filled with such valuable relics and art. My favorite things to look at were the gargoyles! For some reason, they have always intrigued me. And I read somewhere that they got their name from the sound the water made while running out of them as they helped to drain the roofs.

Thanks for the tour!
