SHUTTLE LAUNCH

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SHUTTLE LAUNCH

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Unfortunately, clouds obstructed my view of the launch from my front yeard this time, but I am watching it on live TV. All seems fine thus far into the flight. I am always amazed when something that huge can travel that far in such a short amount of time, and do it flawlessly!

It's a very nice and cool day here today, with the early-morning clouds dispersing quickly now. What a change from last week's summer-time temperatures. It's the 70s this morning and very spring-like.

It's a perfect morning for a bike ride, which I will do before I head for Lowes to get my driveway paint.

Coffee is hot, so stop in and have a cup and let us know what's up in your neck of the woods.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good-morning Soos, and everyone. I , too, watched the launch on t.v. this morning. I have watched many of them from the ground in Fl., on a clear day. Always awesome to watch. My parents lived over near the launch site, so we not only saw but felt and heard them take off.

Rainy, cloudy day here, all inside jobs today. Laundry for one thing, kitchen is done, until I fix lunch. :) Maggie, is sleeping and as I got up at 5 this morning, I may take a wee nap later, one of those power naps :P

Not much news, lonesome here today, after everyone left this week end, and a gloomy day seems to make it moreso. Really chilly too, after being so warm for several days. I might curl up with my apghan and a book. Many possibilities today in the lazy catagory to select from. :o

Have a great day everyone, whatever you do, enjoy, but stay safe,
CArol :)

Good Morning All

I had to listen to the shuttle launch this morning as my TV has decided to act like a giant radio (no picture). Much of my late husband's career was devoted to work on the solid rocket boosters used to launch the shuttle. I always remember watching launches with him. As soon as those boosters successfully separated, it was a good mission as far as he was concerned and time to switch channels.

The trip from Carol's back to Huntsville on Saturday was blissfully uneventful except for the ongoing adversarial relationship with my relatively new "Magic Box" (GPS). This is only the second opportunity I've had to use it and I still have not figured out how to get it to stay on routes I want. However, I refuse to be defeated by it and will keep trying to retrain it or me.

It is unseasonably cool here and raining; yesterday was same. At least the cooler temperatures are helping reduce the demand for electricity and giving the utility crews a little more time to continue working on more permanent fixes to the power distribution system that was so severely damaged by the tornados. News is reporting that it will take about 4 months to fully restore everything. With all the temporary patches they had to make, it is amazing that we have power at all. I am trying to remember to be grateful for that power every minute of the day.

I was hoping for clear skies for a couple of nights to enjoy the full moon but it doesn't look as if that will happen. I so enjoyed the moon light at Carol's even tho it was not yet full. Maybe Liz and Nan will be somewhere they can share a photo of the moon in the mountains.

I made a quick trip to grocery store Sat. night. The first shipment of Athena Cantaloupe have arrived. If you have not tried these, I encourage you to look for them (only available from mid May to late June). Much sweeter than the standard Western cantaloupe with a slightly smoother skin. The taste is well worth the effort to seek them out.

Wishing all a great day
