GOOD MORNING CAROL AND ALL!
I am reading about our weather back home in my part of the Adirondacks....rain, rain, and more rain every day this upcoming week, with flood warnings posted again. That can get very depressing, for sure, although I did love to use the rain for an excuse to stay inside and loll when I was still working! I am just hoping that the blueberries and other flowering fruits, like cherries and service berries and mountain ash, are not in bloom yet as their blossoms could get washed away. Many are a staple diet for the wildlife and much needed. Also, all that rain will keep the bees from fertilizing them. I am really getting anxious to get back there and see what's happened over the winter and greet the new growing things. I really miss the smell of that balsamy mountain air!
On the positive side, all that rain will replenish the ground water including the water in my well!
Those pictures of the levee openings yesterday broke my heart. I just can't imagine watching your entire community get obliterated like that. I tried to connect with Carolyn on Facebook, but she was occupied and I never reached her on the chat thing. I will try again today.
We had a really good, soaking rain here yesterday and some more lighter stuff overnight, so things are already springing back into life in this neighborhood. I believe my son's property also got some rain, I hope. Today is breezy, balmy, and sunny-----perfect, actually. Perhaps this will be the day I get my driveway paint so I can apply it during the next dry spell. Or not! (Options are so nice!)
Hope you all are having a decent day wherever you may be and whatever your plans. Coffee is hot, so stop by and sit a spell!
