Friday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday Morning

A Good Morning to Everyone,

Just a quick hi before I head out the door to work. Kind of cloudy out there this morning, but expected to clear later on. Heard that one before. Like on Wednesday where it was supposed to rain in a.m. and clear out and we got that thunderstormr and three hours worth of rain in middle of morning and half the afternoon.

Yesterday went the opposite. Was supposed to have been around 70 with late afternoon showers. Instead it was sunny and hit 86 and humid. Needless to say, things got very warm working outside in the park, especially considering we were doing heavy physical work. Raking and pitching wet, sandy leaves up from the beach area and then in the afternoon, picking up logs, branches, sticks etc. from behind more tree cutting. So we took numerous rest stops to cool down for a few minutes along with zumpteen gallons of water. Today is going to be a iittle cooler. The rain did arrive late last night in the form of what seemed to be continiuous storms, one after another for over 3 hours. Tessa, not one to tolerate storms, was so hyyper that I didn't get to sleep till after 1 a.m. this morning. She kept me awake with her pawing, panting, climbing all over me in bed. jumping down, wanting back up etc. She just doesn't know what to do with herself. And Sassy who usually doesn't pay much attention to storms was even a bit nervous last night. Laid up in bed with me for awhile and that's not normal for her. It was more lightening than anything all night. Plus wind as my windows are all splattered this morning on the southeast side of the house.

Garage sale starts up again today too. For two days and then after that who knows when anohter one will be. Neighbor is heading to FL to help a friend out down there who has a fractured ankle that needed surgery and can't put weight on it for 7 weeks. She has no family and her caregiver, who is a nightbor is heading back to her summer home, so nobody to help her. Can't afford to pay for in home health care and can't fly home to MI to her other home either, for same reason. No caregiver up here and home has stairs etc.. She's using a wheelchair at moment cause or bad knees, so can't kneel on one of those walker things. Neighbor said she would drive down, but not enough time. This neighbor is 82 by the way and runs around like a house afire.

Time to head out. Have a great day all.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Lest anyone hadn't noticed, it's Friday and it's the 13th! I'm hoping for good luck instead of bad luck for us all today. Maybe if we all make a wish together, it will be so.

Sounds as if it was a restless night in the north, Sue, with all the lightning. Poor pups, too. I think the nightly scheduled fireworks shows down here have somewhat inured Molly to the sound of booms, but we shall see when they are accompanied by lightning!

Still no rain down here for Orlando, and the green things are really suffering big time. This weekend may have some rain in store, according to the weather people....we shall see. I spent many hours in the pool yesterday, including the hour before dark last night, and it felt so good. I meet some of the neighbors down there in the evenings, as it's the only time of day they are able to get free of work and chores to treat themselves to a swim. It's good to know your neighbors, and they all have their own stories----all are very nice, but don't seem to know each other at all. It's sort of like living in an apartment and meeting for conversation only in the elevators, or something. Interesting. The young new mother next door to me brought me over a huge plate of peach/blueberry cobbler last night with whipped cream, just as I was finishing my supper! Talk about yummy! How on earth she had time to make it with a new baby I will never know! Her husband just graduated from the University of Central Florida, so I guess they are planning to move back to the St. Augustine area where their families live. I will miss them----are very nice people with a super cute baby girl.

I will make some calls today to get more prepared to go home---post office, hometown bank for a new debit card, pest people to make a house call while I am still here, and cable company to keep my service on for a couple more weeks. Other than that, my schedule is wide open! I love it! Perhaps I will get the driveway paint this morning......yes, in fact, that will be chore for today.

Hoping Butte LaRose, that was in the early morning news again today, will be spared the horendous flooding that seems almost imminent.

Happy travels and camping, wherever you may be.

Good morning Sue, Soos & everyone that follows!

Sue, it sounds like you are keeping busy at the park readying it for the summer months.

Soos, I hope your area of the state will be getting the much needed rain soon, but not until you get the driveway painted.

It's Friday and the last day of the work week for me. My weekend will be spent buying groceries and preparing meals for my parents. I'm not quite sure what foods I'll be fixing for them but I have some things buzzing around in my head, hoping they'll enjoy. Time permitting, I would like to go see my sister that is in Shock Trauma but will be moved to a rehab center for acute therapy. It's a few miles down the road from where she is now in the Baltimore area. Depending on how well she does there determines how soon she can go home. Once she gets home, she'll be needing lots of help since she won't be able to put any weight on her foot for 12 weeks. So we'll be busy around here.

I'm still hoping that Carolyn's home in Butte LaRose and the others in that in area will be spared.

Have a good day everyone!

Just popping in to say hi.. snag some coffee.. and run. :D

My plans are simple today - check the awning on the van.

My first trip out camping in the van is next week. I hope when I return, my rv will be out of the shop. I may put the van in the shop at that time to get some sort of trike rack put on the back.

Yesterday, tossed the trike in the van and just drove a few miles. Nope... too crowded. Can't see doing that more than once or twice.

If rain hits Florida today - it will be because I'm having trouble getting the awning back in.

Good Morning this friday the 13 is an excellent one my oldest granddaughter Ameera's birthday is today when she was born it took away all the bad that friday the 13 has attached to it... :)
It is cooler here today will be in the mid 70s then down from here onto a better range for May...
The eye doctor put plugs in my eye tear ducts yesterday... that should help keep moisture in... then I took my old lenses to Eyes are Us and they had another frame that fit... wonderful that was as new ones would cost much more... done for another year again...
Irmi I hope your sister does well... my granddaughter Ameera had a bone in her foot that she broke and it did not heal after 5 months they operated on it and she has to be off it for many weeks so she sure could empathize with her... life is dealing you a full plate for sure... glad you are there to fix meals for your parents...
I just got a call from my doctors office and I need to run...
Hope everyone is having a great day even if it is friday the 13th!

Eating lunch and trying to stay awake at work today. Pretty sure I passed a kidney stone on Wednesday evening because of blood in my urine. Just some achy feeling, not really horrible pain, but I took half of a Tylenol 3 and found it hard not to doze off in the meeting I just left. The older I get the more difficult/boring meetings are anyway, and even without half a pain pill tend to doze off.

Anyway, have a Pepsi now so that should help. I don't drink coffee and am supposed to watch caffeine, but really need it now. Should be a nice, quiet afternoon since no more meetings and I can chug along at my own pace. Project manager is laying off me for a while--actually said I was making good progress.

Heard some rain a bit ago. Wish I had a window to look out. It was certainly warm this morning driving in to work.

Good morning gals!

It is sunny and 73 already in SoCal! Wish I had the day off. We are having a 3 day haircut sale starting today, so it should be busier than it has been lately. Tips are usually pretty good during the sales too. I have Sunday off tho, so may go do something fun for a change! One of our customers told me about a new hiking place to check out around here, so may do that.

Heard from Linda (bikerchic) this morning (via e-mail) and it sounds like she got a really good workamping job offer in MI. They are even offering her gas money to drive up there! I told her to go for it! She still didn't say exactly where in MI it is but I will find out soon.

It has been really noisy around my apartment the past few days. They are redoing the landscaping and have lots of loud equipment working on it. Sure drowns out the pretty song birds around here!

Hope you all have a good day and stay high and dry where ever you are!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hope you finally got the awning in, Alice. They can be a pain to get up and down in the best of circumstances. Until the recent heat and constant sunshine, I haven't used my trailer awning much at all, other than at bluegrass concerts and at some campgrounds back home. I still remember Jack from NH helping me hold down my awning on my old trailer during a violently windy and torrentially rainy thunderstorm at the first bluegrass festival I went to! Many awnings went flying over the roofs of trailers that day, and most screen rooms were mangled and spread throughout the concert area. Thank you, Jack!
