Come on in and say hello.

Hello All,

My name is Ann and my spouse, Sandy, and I just purchased our first RV....a 2010 33' Winnebago Sightseer. We bought it in March and have taken it out for two weekends, last month to our Agility club's trial at the Chester Fairgrounds and last weekend we traveled to Wells, Me. We are doing well for first timers and are learning a lot. I joined another forum and learned a lot from those folks. Then a friend told me about this forum. I'm checking it out. Seems like a good group here, very friendly and helpful.

I am a retired manager, having worked for 25 years for the State of CT in the field of developmental services. I also served in the US ARMY and Army National Guard, with a total of 12 years service.

My spouse is still working. She is a nurse and worked for many years in endoscopy; dialysis and then in IV therapy. She is now happily ensconced in position of Nurse Informaticist....the computer side of nursing. She loves this and looks forward to going to work. This job gives her weekends off, hence the decision to finally buy the RV.

We compete in agility with our three Jack Russells. We have been talking about buying a RV for years. It was always my plan to retire and travel with the dogs in the RV. We got the rig for their benefit. We had been staying in really nice hotels (they are the ones most likely to let dogs stay) and were renting suites as our dogs are reactive and bark at every sound. In order to not bother other folks we would get a suite which tend to be more sound-proofed it seems.

We figured that the dogs would feel comfy in the RV....it would be a second home to them....we could travel anywhere with them and they would be comfortable.

We love the RV...which we have named "Jacks in a Box." Sandy looks forward to using it for agility trials in MA, VT and CT. I look forward to returning to Nova Scotia, traveling out west etc.

I look forward to learning from you folks, participating in discussions and having some laughs.

Welcome Ann and Sandy. Glad to have you with us. Make yourselves at home and join in as often as you'd like. Ask any questions you want - you'll get plenty of answers and we won't all agree - but we'll all share our knowledge and opinions :)

Make sure to check out the gtg room - would love to have you join any of them you can, if you can. I'm at a cg in PA and having one here in early Sept. Another in PA in June, and Soos has a boondocking one happening in NY this summer - so 3 in the NE that I can think of offhand,
Beth

Welcome Ann and Sandy to our forum. We hope you will like this one so much it will become your favorite. This bunch is diverse in backgrounds and knowledge. Just about any question you have there will be one with expertise in that area. Of course most of our knowledge has been gained the hard way; by trial and error :o We love to hear all about your travels and experiences but we also love to hear about life's ordinary happenings. I hope you do better than me in putting up lots of pictures. Some of the girls are wonderful photographers and it's a real treat to see where they have been and what they've been doing. :D

Welcome Ann & Sandy! How fun to have more newbies with four-legged kids! The more the merrier!

I'm a looooong way away, but that'll just give you somewhere to stay when you make it out to the Left Coast. I'm the proud mom of a more sedate pooch but he always loves meeting anything that has a tail that wags.

Please learn quickly how to post pictures so we can see your delightful family. :) Maybe you've even got some agility pics, too!

I hope we hear lots from you as you learn about your new mobile dog suite and the adventures you all will have in it.

Again, welcome!
