We are going to go away for Memorial Day Weekend and am so not looking forward to filling up the motor home but that is what we have to do living this life style. Either way we are going to have fun...being angry about the cost of gas or just biting the bullet and enjoying our time in our rig and enjoying this great country that we live in.

I even tried filling up 1/4 tank four times on my trip back from LA. Didn't make any difference. Still hurt each time. The last time was $2.89 and then 40 miles down the road I saw it for $2.75....dang made me spitting upset. That was 14 cents a gallon!!!!! Aw well, the price we pay determines if we are going to go any further down the road.

Ughhh I have to fill up this morning before we head out. I tell myself it's the price of freedom. Freedom from school and schedules and rush hour traffic and all those headaches. Still hurts a little tho.

Let me know where you can get it for $2.+ anything. I want to go there. Guessing you meant $3.89.

Yep me too, but perhaps more slowly.

More slowly on journeys - quicker on destinations. I zipped up here - actually saved a little that way on the rising gas prices, and why spend money on parks (or boondock in the cold on the way) when I could (this time) settle in for the season. But like both of you, the gas prices will not stop me. I remember my first summer out when I had to pay the west coast prices, then hit a really high price in the mountains in WA. Decided then that was part of the journey - will find other ways to conserve.

It's $4.29 for regular here in Northern CA. So what used to cost me around $100 is now almost $140...not happy. Wouldn't mind it near as much but the oil companies are showing billions of dollars in profit...They are raping the public with their greed..........

I totally agree! They are laughing all the way to the bank while we sit here struggling to pay for their gas just to get to work, etc. Plus, the government subsidizes them with more of our money! Go figure!!?

I am glad I have a car that still gets around 30 mpg! Great little car!

Paid 3.45 for diesel in Ft. Mojave, Az on Monday, it's 4.57 here. Can anyone tell me why???? This is total bullhockey. But, no, it won't keep me from traveling. It didn't keep me from going when I paid over 5 dollars a few years ago and it won't stop me now. Will I go slower? I'll try, but am betting not. My lead foot gets in the way of common sense sometimes.

Another butt burner: The State of WA refunds $.28 gas tax for every gallon of gas a foreign government (Indians) sells. How outrageous is that?! We pay $.35 in gas taxes on each gallon of gas we buy to, supposedly, fix roads and bridges. Why should 75% of that go to a foreign government?

Here where I am, gas is currently $4.29. A week ago it was $4.19. Friends of mine went over to Traverse City which is about 60 miles southwest from here last Sunday. Said that the little town down the road here about 8 miles was at $4.17. Another town 25 miles west was at $4.12 and then another town closer to Traverse City was $4.08. Go figure. Isn't it interestng how the price of gas goes up at least $.10 but when it comes down, it's only about $.02 at a time.

It won't stop me from hauling my TT around. Just driving a bit slower and maybe not going to far. ButI have so many state parks and places withn 75 miles of me here, that I can easily try different ones as time permits.

And so far it doesn't seem to be affectng the touring population either.

Oil per barrel prices went DOWN yesterday! The prices at the pumps have started coming down, as well! YAHOO! One news station said a possible lowering as much as 40 cents a gallon by Memorial Day (a bit of a stretch, I would say!) ------all the more reason for me to stay right here for another while!

I wont be going to far away as usual... Plan on a trip to the beach, and maybe a couple of other places this summer.. I wish we would see $2.50 gas prices again, but i dont think we will here. In Sept back out the the park for hosting, so 15 miles away i am sure i can afford that...LOL
