A New Week

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A New Week

Postby Bethers » Mon May 02, 2011 7:49 am

Well, that's all in the eyes of who's reading, I guess. I've always really considered Sunday the start of a new week. But Monday is the work week start for many. Sooo ...

I'm off to work myself this morning, but stopped here to get breakfast going for anyone hungry out there.

Have a great day whatever you're doing, where ever you are.

GOOD MORNING BETH AND ALL!

Another very humid-feeling morning here, although still cool. Molly hit the front screen door last night with a horrendous THUD trying to get 'something' in the front yard, and I have been awake on and off since then, which was about 2:00 am. I went out to look for whatever it was, but could see nothing by then as her attack was fast and loud! I have seen footprints similar to racoon prints, but not exactly, in the mornings in the soft sand between my house and the next. I need to get my print book from the trailer to determine what it is that wanders around here in the darkness each night. Probably either an armadillo or racoon relative?

I will go back to WalMart today to get another few feet of border and more mulch for my adders' tongue garden on the side of the house. I also want to price the cost of driveway paint to renew this driveway, now that I repaired it.

Hope you all have a good day wherever you may be.

Good morning everyone!

It was a busy weekend for me. I wanted to post last night but I was so tired I didn't even turn my computer on.

Saturday I did our weekly grocery shopping. After getting things back home & put away, hubby & I went off to the local Sears store to buy a pushmower because his bit the dust. Yesterday we went to my parents house and fixed them a large lunch which gave them lots of leftovers. I fixed chicken breasts stuffed with crab imperial and a cheesy broccoli sauce with lots of lump crab meat, fried potatoes and a green bean salad. They seemed to really enjoy it.

On the way home from their house, the traffic on Rt. 50 was extremely heavy. We were doing about 30 MPH for miles. It's quite obvious that the high gas prices aren't keeping people home. I was in a hurry to get home because I had hung out the bed linens before we went to my parents house and the sky was looking threatening and I wanted to beat the rains. Not only did I get the sheets off the lines in time, but between hubby & I, we cut the grass in our entire yard. I was on the riding lawnmower and he did the trimming, but it's done. By the time we had dinner, I was done for. It would be nice to have a day of rest after weekends sometimes.

I hope everyone's weekend was good.

Hello from not-sunny San Antonio. Not sunny is a rare occurance for us here. Yesterday it got up to 93 degrees, a temperature that has been pretty common here lately. Yesterday they were promising rain which we have not had for a really long time. We didn't get that but the temperature dropped well over 40 degrees in a few hours. Today the high is only going to reach 59 degrees and, while we have clouds and wind, no rain so far. You just never know. It is pretty windy but no storm dangers so we are lucky with that. I know that those in the north are really sick of rain, too bad we couldn't redirect it as there are still fires popping up in West Texas. Have a great day wherever you are.

I need a day of rest after the GTG but I'm not going to get it here at the hospital. The fire alarm went off at 2:00 this morning for 20 minutes and it wasn't off long and it went off again. They have had 3 false alarms since we have been here. Then they are in to draw blood at 4:30. You are not going to get any rest in a hospital.

I went to the Whole Food Grocery store this morning, mostly to sight see. I don't think cookies are all that good for you even if you buy them at a health food store.

It is 90 today and it looks like it is going to rain. I think we have a cool front coming through tonight.

Good morning, well afternoon. It's a beautiful breezy day here in Birmingham. Rain predicted for tonight & tomorrow, but nothing with tornados. Sarah and I are going to stay here at Wendy's another night, in hopes Sarah's power might be restored by Tuesday. If not, we have what we need in my rv. We're having a nice visit in the meantime.

Sarah and Wendy have gone off to buy Sarah some new wiper blades in advance of the impending rain. So Roe, Nicky, Pepper and I are relaxing on the porch overlooking Wendy's backyard and pool. I tried to get a doggy gtg picture of the 3 of them this morning. I'll post the result later. None of them were very cooperative.

Wonder what Molly was after through the screen last night, Soos. Might have been an opossum.

Hope all enjoy a beautiful day where ever you are.

More rain here too, ACK will it ever stop!!! Last year we had a drought now this year floods. I just got home from yoga class and a lovely long lunch with a friend, such a good way to pass a rainy day.

Liz I'm so glad to hear that Sarah is with you at Wendy's and that you will stay with her until her home has power again. Big hugs to you all.

Opossum! That's the creature my mind couldn't think of this morning, Liz! And I think that's what it was! Thanks for the mind jog!
