WINDY WEDNESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WINDY WEDNESDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

When do we get to see a picture of this renovated van? I am wondering if my homeowner's association would allow me to have one here if it will fit into the garage....guess I need to ask. How tall is your Roadtrek, Liz, with the AC on top and all?

It sure would be a neat thing to have to travel back and forth in---but then, of course, I would have to sell my trailer along with my truck as the trailer would be useless without the truck. Sigh---it's a no-win situation, unless I can decide to force myself to haul the trailer all over the place. In the meantime, I need a van picture, Alice! We don't have that kind of wind down here yet today, or yesterday, either, for that matter. We also didn't get any rain yesterday, so I will need to water stuff here today. I am thinking I might dig up some ferns from the front of my house to plant along the side rather than the adders' tongues, and find a way to plant those around the palm trees by building round, raised beds out there. The lawn trimmers take a bit off the palm trunks every time they go past, and having a buffer zone might be a good thing. I will need to wait for my retirement check to do that, but I can dig up the ferns this morning for free.

I have another cold, which, as usual, is settling in my chest once again. No colds for several years, and now two since I have been down here----all these foreign viruses are attacking my very narrowed immune system due to my being so isolated back home, I suspect.

I see we have another line of tornadic weather heading across to the east. It is very discouraging. Not half as discouraging for me as for those who live in the paths of those storms, I am sure, but very frustrating when I wish to head home before July!

I hope you all are having a good day, wherever you may be. Sue is back at work this morning, lucky girl, as she will now getting some moola to spend on gas! Happy Wednesday! Pedal on, Alice!

Good morning Soos & everyone that follows!

Soos, that is such a shame that you are coming down with another cold. I sure hope you're feeling better soon. With all the work you're constantly doing on your house, please don't run yourself down.

It's a cloudy day on the eastern shore of MD with temperatures just a little cooler than it has been the past couple days. We'll be in the upper 70's with a chance of showers later today more rain coming into the area. I can't complain because the weather has been so nice lately but do worry about the areas of the country that have had flooding rains and tornadoes.

After work, I will pick up a couple barbecued chicken dinners from the Methodist church. The dressing they have with the salad is so good but is a secret recipe they won't divulge. It is always such a treat when the Methodist men have their bi-annual barbecues.

I hope that those that are on their way to the GTG have a safe trip and everyone is safe, wherever you are.

Morning all. Irmi, I'm betting that recipe is filled with sugar and butter and all the stuff we try to watch these days - so better you don't know what's in it :) Just enjoy it twice a year!

Neighbors just had a new fridge delivered. They are a seasonal in a log-cabin-sided trailer) and got a standard fridge to replace the rv one. While that was going on the rv maintenance guy who came to replace my sink faucet originaly came by to bolt back the outside step that was causing problems (we where holding the step and floor in place with rocks underneath). So that is bolted, but we agreed that I shouldn't use the steps, so need to replace the little one I currently put outside with a better one (probably the aluminum one camping world sells). Much cheaper than getting the whole thing fixed/replaced for hundreds of dollars - but still ... So, he has fixed my furnace, and got the bolt on the step/floor to make me safer - but the sink - still not done! I'm going to eat the cost of the new faucet I bought and he's getting another one and we're starting over. The only thing here - I'll have to pay for another new faucet, but if there are problems with this one - he'll have to eat the cost!

Have had a couple gorgeous days - today is overcast and we got sprinkled on during our morning walk. Of course, to be expected - it's my day off. No problem. I'm so happy temps are back up - shirt sleeves, no jacket needed - YAY!

Good morning to all - well right now we are between rain storms - lots of rain last night and more coming later today. Yesterday we actually had blue skies for about an hour before sunet - forgot how nice they were. Even supposed to get up to 70 by late this afternoon.
Just drove down to the little hair salon in BeanBlossom (yep that's the real name of a tiny town) to check if my hair is long enough yet to get a perm. Yippee! it is - so scheduled for Friday morning. Just hope it doesn't come out too curley.
Not much going on around here - to wet to go outside and do anything and the house is still clean. Did set up my sewing machine this morning and it is working fine after its winter rest - but not really in the mood to sew anything yet. In fact don't have any projects going. The Driver is busy busy working with his leather and masks and wood spirits. Do need to update my blog and start getting some of our Mexico pictures on DVDs - eventually....
Our son Dennis is in Las Vegas for a couple of days visiting his youngest brother. Dennis daughter is also there. Her baby is due in June sometime so that gives him something to look forward to. And we'll be great grandparents.......how did we get that old and when did it happen? Guess we are lucky its taking this long - we have 2 grandchildren older than her.
Hope those of you in the path of the severe weather stay safe.

Morning all from the Musical City. Lots of thunderstorms during the night and the creeks are rising. Just a year ago this weekend we were under water everywhere. I sure hope this does not become an annual event. I'm tired of rain.

Had some water in my den from a backed up downspout which I fixed and am now drying out the den, but no leaks in Seeker. That makes me feel better about that damp compartment which is dry for now. I figure if it was a leak up high after last night I'd be wet inside but since all is dry I think it's just gasketing around that compartment which I can deal with.

Carpenter is here now finishing up the work on the new wall. Now I'm minus a dinningroom but bumped up to a 3 bedroom house and bumped up my price. Will be putting house back on the market this weekend with a slightly higher price and hopefully selling it quickly so that I can move full time into Seeker by my retirement date on June 3. It's all so exciting!

More thunderstorms on the way so I'll close and secure my electronics till it passes.

Hold on to your hats, girls. It's going to be a stormy day.

Good morning all

Just a really quick check in for me this AM as we are currently between waves of severe storms. One earlier this morning dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain and caused some wide spread wind damage. Think the worse of the wind damage was around Guntersville State Park tho I just heard a report that there are now more than 260,000 people without power across north AL. That number seems awfully high and I did not hear what areas are included. Weather channel has us in a Tor:Con of 9 - that is a 90% chance of tornado within 50 miles all across north AL.

My niece is doing reasonable well after her bout with seizure/car wreck on Sunday. It will be a while before we know more about the seizure situation. She did have one several years ago. Doctors never figured out anything about it and as time passed, they advised it was likely a one time thing. Guess they were wrong altho it was quite a while between them. In the mean time, it is likely her drivers liscense will be suspended until we know more about condition. Hopefully they will dig deeper this time.

I'll try to get back on line tonight after storms pass to catch up on other posts.
Stay safe out there.

Sunny and 73 in SoCal! Gonna get up to 90 today!

I am finishing up a few things around here before heading to work this afternoon. I work until 9pm and then leave tomorrow morning for the airport. I am getting excited but nervous too. Flying makes me nervous. I am just glad I found a non-stop flight.

My cat sitter came up last night to get all her instructions and introduction to Lola, so that is all set.

Called my dad last night and my uncle is still hanging in there, so that is good. He also said his car finally bit the dust. I have been telling him to get a new car for years now since he puts so much money into keeping it going. I told him car payments would be less than the car repairs he has been paying. Now he has no choice. He will get a rental car for this next week until he can find a new car.

Hope the weather calms down for all you traveling thru the midwest and south! It sure has been a nasty spring (after a nasty winter!).

(I am not taking my laptop with me so I won't be back on-line until I get home next Wednesday.)

on edit: Thank you Kathleen for the pretty pics! Those blossoms are beautiful! I bet they smell wonderful too!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Afternoon here. I've been to Tampa for my cancer check-up. Reached the 5 year milestone, so can now go to annual instead of 6 mos. check-ups. They will be in November, as I don't want to have to stay in FL until late April.

Soos, are you sure it's not allergies you've developed instead of a cold? When I first moved to FL I thought I kept a cold off and on for a year. It turned out to be allergies that I had never had before in NE. All the night-blooming jasmine is bothering me now.

Kathleen, I remember well when your sister died, and how hard that was for you. So glad you had a chance to visit with her before she passed. Perhaps those beautiful pink blooms are for her. What kind of tree is it?

Horizon...hope your house sells quickly so your dream can begin in earnest.

Tomorrow I will try to get my vehicles registered so it won't have to be done by mail. Can register for 2 years now, so will do that. It cannot be done more than 3 months in advance of your birthday, and tomorrow will be exactly 3 months.

Bad storms going through some areas today. Pray that Mitch, Sarah and Carolinagal & anyone else in the paths are safe. They're predicting strong storms here tomorrow, but don't expect them to be as bad as the ones we've seen recently in OK to KY, etc.

Beautiful flower pics, Kath! Thanks for sending those! And remember all the good times you shared with your sister today. Where did that last year go? Nowadays, if I blink, another year has passed----frightening how time speeds up as we get older, eh?

This is another cold, Liz, as I have a fever and sore throat rather than the allergic symptoms like stuffiness, itchiness, sneezing, and all that allergy stuff. However, I am feeling better today already, and my stomach muscles are getting a bit of a reprieve from the constant coughing. I am hoping this cold passes faster than the last one!

Last night was horrific again in the midwest and the southern states...so many deaths and horrendous devastation. I will be very glad to get back to the safety of my mountain home-----IF I ever get there!
